Gloria Doyle Opens Up On Her Domestc Violence Abuse | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 24 Dec 2017 03:42 AM PST COntroversial actress and musician Gloria Doyle who suddenly went MIA is back in the game. The single mother, in an interview with Sunnewsonline, opens up on career, domestic violence and her dreams. For so long you have been off the radar. Where were you and what is new about Gloria Doyle? I was doing a lot of travelling and concentrating on my kids. The new thing about Gloria Doyle is that I am coming out bigger and stronger. I am dropping new singles, a full album and starting a TV Program christened, Unbroken Wings. You were a victim of domestic violence in your previous marriage. How did you overcome? I walked out of it with my children alive and faced the challenges, stigma and relegation of being a single mother. I took the bull by the horns for my children's sake and never got remarried for my children's sake as well and I am all good about it. I experienced excessive beatings for no just reason. It was very painful. I really don't know how to explain in. I told my ex that after three years of marriage, I wanted to return to my music career and he got so mad he just couldn't stop battering me accusing me, that I only wanted to be let loose. It was a very sad experience for me. What is your advice to women going through domestic violence and at what point should one leave an abusive relationship? When a relationship gets to the point of verbal abuse, which leads to physical abuse, if care is not taken, anything could happen so I strongly advice, walk out in peace and not in pieces. I have seen many young women lose their lives because they were unable to let go their abusive husband especially when they depend on their husbands for everything. Women feel very uncomfortable walking out of such relationship because of the stigma attached to being a single mother. I am talking about things like 'oh, she is a single mother, she separated from her husband, she is a divorcee.' Please, if you are going through an abusive relationship, separate yourself from it for a while. If it is reconcilable, all good and if it is not reconcilable, each party should move on. Tell us about your music. You have released a new single, Baba Na You. What is happening? I am actually in the studio working towards the release of my new album after a long break of about 12 years. I have dropped the first single and video entitled Baba Na You, which is currently enjoying airplay. The second single will be dropping by January 2018 and it is entitled Pray, while the full album will be dropping middle of next year and it is entitled New Level, and then there is the TV Talk show, U with Gloria Doyle, which will kick off next year as well and I might likely go back into acting. What has been your happiest moment as a mother and how do you balance the home front with your career? That was watching my children graduating from schhool without falling by the way side despite the odds. For now, my kids are all independently on their own. So, I have all the time for my music career. Tell us about the challenges of single motherhood? It could be quite tough and rough. The opposite sex will see you as a sex thing and people won't take you serious and then you become both mother and father to your children, which is a very tedious task to play. In fact, It will take God's mercy to have a good relationship because everybody wants to see you as mistress material or side chick. There were reports a couple of years ago that you were going to marry a younger lover. What really happened? It didn't work out. I am not mentally settled for marriage. Will you give marriage another chance? Yes, I will if I come across a guy that has peace within himself What are your dreams? Hmmm… the dreams plenty ooo… to be a renowned minister of the gospel and generally, to be a positive contributor to my generation. I just want to see people smile. culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |
This Is Why There Is Poverty In The World Today - TB Joshua | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 24 Dec 2017 03:42 AM PST Pophet T.B. Joshua in his Christmas message has revealed the cause of poverty in the world today. According to the prophet, lack of compassion and love is the reason behind this. "The beauty of life does not depend on how happy you are but on how happy others can be because of you," Joshua began in a somber statement he released to Facebook. Reading from 1 Corinthians 13:13, he further explained, "The manner you love your neighbour determines the measure of your relationship with God." "You are rich but you are still complaining – as if you have nothing… You have money yet unanswered questions in your life. You are a president but anytime you are in private, you cry for what you do not have.'' "Possessions do not bless when we keep them. Money does not bless when we keep them in the safe but giving them to help the poor, needy, refugees and others, can. We use money to get what we need but when we keep it, it becomes dormant as if we do not have," Joshua wrote. He continued; "The cause of poverty and hardship is because we have not been giving to help others. We keep our possessions and save our money. We say there is not money but money is everywhere. The cause of poverty is because our money is not being circulated." He concluded his teaching saying; "You are blessed to bless others but you are blessed and not blessing others – that is the cause of poverty. Therefore, build your life around your contribution to others, for that is the beauty of life," he said. culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |
Buhari misquoted the bible on Christmas - Reno Omokri | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 24 Dec 2017 03:22 AM PST "The Holy Book describes Christmas as a festival of peace, joy, healing, hope and fulfilment." The statement above is a fallacy. The Holy Bible does not mention the word Christmas, neither does it mention that Christians should mark any festival surrounding the birth of Jesus the Messiah (Nabi Isa in Islam). Christmas is a European holiday, not a Christian holiday. It is celebrated in Nigeria and much of the world, for the simple reason that it was Europeans that brought modern day Christianity to Nigeria, Africa and much of the world. I have read the Holy Books of Judaism, Christianity and Islam and while all of them acknowledge the Messiah, NONE of them instructs believers to celebrate Christmas or the birth of Christ. In fact, God deliberately made sure we do not celebrate the birth of His only begotten Son, Yeshu'a (Jesus) by keeping the actual date of His birth from us. No one on earth knows the date of the Messiah's birth. What the Holy Bible, and Jesus specifically, asks Christians to celebrate is the death of our Lord. In Luke 22:19 Jesus says: "And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me." Apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 11:26 reechoes the Messiah's instruction when he said: "For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes." The reason Jesus asked us to mark His death and not His birth goes all the way back to Solomon (Suleiman in Islam) who said in Ecclesiastes 7:1 that: "A good name is better than fine perfume, and the day of death better than the day of birth." The very last thing Jesus said before ascending to heaven is in Matthew 28:18-20, where He said: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and TEACHING THEM TO OBEY EVERYTHING I HAVE COMMANDED YOU. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." These words are called The Great Commission in Christianity. Jesus asked us to teach only those things He commanded us to teach. Where did He command us to teach Christmas? As a matter of fact, Christmas was not celebrated for 336 years after Jesus left the earth. The first Christmas celebration was in the year 336 AD when the Roman Emperor, Constantine, converted the celebration of a pagan mass to mark the winter solstice which glorified European deities. That festival was marked on December 25. Do not take my word for it. I urge you, in fact I appeal to you to investigate these statements I just made. That Christmas has become part of the Christian tradition does not mean that it has become acceptable with God. You and I know that Jesus condemned the Pharisees. Now ask yourself why Jesus condemned them? Matthew 15:9 gives us the answer: "But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." I have already factually established that Christmas IS NOT Christian doctrine. It is a command of a man. To be precise, the name of that man was Emperor Constantine who ordered everyone in the Roman Empire to celebrate the Winter Solstice as Christmas beginning from 336 AD. This is the epitome of satanism because The Bible warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:14 that: "for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light." If satan asks any true Christian to celebrate a pagan satanic ritual festival, they will never do it. So he just transformed a satanic ritual festival by giving it a new name-Christmas and voila, Christians begin to celebrate what Jesus did not command us to celebrate. Christmas is an abomination and a blasphemous festival and the Bible warned us about it in 1 Timothy 4:1 that: "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons." Let me ask you a question. If Jesus and the Bible don't teach Christmas, from where and who does it come from? After reading this and you want to disagree with me, please quote the biblical verses that support your argument and not what your pastor or a book other than the Bible says. Christians are the most gullible people. Today's churches will celebrate anything as long as it is popular. Churches of this age even celebrate Halloween. Yes, Halloween. They attempt to Christianize it, but they celebrate it none the less. But before I stray too far from my message, let me just state it for the record that President Muhammadu Buhari is wrong on Christmas. But I don't blame him. I blame Femi Adesina who obviously read (and perhaps wrote) that statement. The President can celebrate Christmas. Try as my conscience would, I could not persuade President Jonathan not to celebrate Christmas. It would have been political suicide. However, let no President lie against the Holy Spirit and say that "The Holy Book describes Christmas as a festival of peace, joy, healing, hope and fulfilment." Like Orubebe, 'we will not take it, we will not allow it.' The Holy Books say no such thing! Reno Omokri culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |

My babymama's have no problem with the way I flaunt my wife - Oritsfemi | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 24 Dec 2017 02:32 AM PST Singer Oritsefemi tied the knot with his woman Nabila Fash a fgew weeks ago. He has since continued to flaunt her on social media with many wondering if his babymamas won't be jealous. Speaking about this with Sunday Scoop, the DOUBLE WAHALA crooner said; "Everything about me is out there. The reason I often gush about my wife on social media is because I'm proud of the love I have for her. I have nothing to hide. Because I'm a celebrity, a lot of attention is always on me, and whatever I do becomes topic of discussion. I don't think it is a crime to appreciate your spouse. In fact, it is something every couple should do more of. But the relationship between me and wife is very tight. We love each other. Nobody can come in between us. Since I got married, I have become a different person. I'm more responsible now." He continued; "We have perfect understanding among us, and nobody feels slighted about anything. I always make sure I give everyone the respect that they deserve, and that's all that matters." On Danku's claim that he introduced him to his wife, Oritsefemi said, "I have no comments about that. It is unnecessary. There are some interviews that I cannot grant. I don't promote people without any tangible reason." culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |

5 Bible Verses That Will Change Your Life if You Believe Them Posted: 24 Dec 2017 01:11 AM PST We all have our favorite verses. Some of them we love because they're comforting. Others we may have memorized for that extra boost of confidence or encouragement they provide when we really need it. But here are five verses that would absolutely change our lives – for the better – if we really believed them... "Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me." When it comes to the sayings of Jesus, this is one I wish wasn't in the Bible. And I'm not alone in that. I've heard many young moms ask me how they can love Jesus more than their own child. And furthermore, how could God actually expect them to? Yet Jesus wasn't suggesting that we be negligent in our concern for others. Nor was He merely suggesting that we like Him a lot. He was commanding total allegiance. The Son of God who became our Savior demands and deserves to be first place in our hearts. I believe He was fleshing out the "first and greatest commandment" when He said this, and showing us what it looks like in our lives to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength"(Mark 12:30). If we really believed Jesus when He said we must love Him more than our own parents and children – more than what is closest and dearest to our hearts – our lives would look radically different in how we honor Him, sacrifice for Him, and show a daily love and devotion toward Him. 2. Romans 8:28-29 – "All things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose…" Here's one we love to quote, especially the first part of the verse. But when we look at the entire verse, along with verse 29 – "For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son…" (ESV) – we get the bigger picture of what God is doing in the lives of believers when we encounter struggles. In the NASB translation, we discover that "God causes all things to work together for good" in order to make us more like Christ. When we truly believe that God not only works in, but causes events in our lives to conform us to Christ's character, we will no longer doubt, worry, stress, or become anxious when hard times hit us. We will instead rest assured that God is at work in every situation in our lives to make us more like His Son and nothing – absolutely nothing – takes Him by surprise. 3. Galatians 2:20 – "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." If you and I really considered ourselves crucified with Christ and our motto was "I no longer live, but Christ lives in me" we'd be much less concerned about our personal image or reputation and we'd be all about Him and His concerns. When we truly die to self, we no longer worry about whether or not we're getting respect for who we are and what we do. We wouldn't be bothered by misunderstandings that cast us in a bad light, situations that are to our disadvantage, circumstances that humiliate us, jobs that are beneath us, or rumors that are untrue. Being crucified with Christ means His name is my name. I can live knowing He's got my back because it's His back. That must be what Christ meant when He said, "whoever loses their life for me will find it" (Matthew 16:25, NIV). 4. Philippians 4:13 – "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." How we love this verse because it appears to be a victory chant for our ability to do anything. We perceive it as God wants me to prosper, therefore I can do all things. But in context, the Apostle Paul was saying he has learned to live in whatever circumstance God put him in. "For I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me" (verses 11-13, NASB). Are you wondering if you can live on your meager salary? Is God calling you to a ministry and you don't know how to fund it? Are you wondering how you will persevere in your physical condition or continued diagnosis? This verse is an assurance to us that as we surrender to Christ, He will enable us to live in whatever circumstances He has called us. Next time you start to think I just can't live like this remember you can also do all things (even endure your situation) through Him who gives you strength. 5. James 1:2-4 – "Consider it pure joy… whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." One of the most difficult struggles for believers is understanding why we have to struggle at all. Yet this verse packs a promise. Our testing and trials produce in us perseverance, which in turn results in our maturity and completion. In the NASB, we are told that the endurance learned through suffering will make us "perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." Isn't that what we strive for? To be perfect as Christ is? Yet we can't without His help. God's Word tells us, straight-out, that we can be perfected in Christ Jesus when we not only endure our difficult situations, but when we actually consider them joy. If you and I really believed this, we'd be much happier at the things that continually bring us down. We'd be joyful, knowing we were on our way to maturity and completion in Christ. You really should start believing these verses and living differently. [written by Cindi McMenamin] culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Why Nigeria’s Economy Is Still Vulnerable Despite Exiting Recession – IMF Posted: 24 Dec 2017 12:36 AM PST The International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Friday that the Nigerian economy was still vulnerable despite the country exiting recession. The IMF in a statement issued by its Media and Press Officer, Raphael Ranspach, welcomed the Federal Government's actions to improve the power sector and business environment under the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (EGRP). The Fund said the macroeconomic and structural reforms remained urgent to contain vulnerability and support sustainable private sector led growth. The IMF said its staff team led by the Senior Resident Representative and Mission Chief for Nigeria, Amine Mati, visited the country from December 6 to 20 to conduct the 2018 Article IV consultation, which led to this report. The statement said: "Overall growth is slowly picking up but recovery remains challenging. Economic activity expanded by 1.4 per cent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2017 – the second consecutive quarter of positive growth after five quarters of recession — driven by recovering oil production and agriculture. "However, growth in the non-oil-non-agricultural sector (representing about 65 per cent of the economy) contracted in the first three quarters of 2017 relative to the same period last year. "Difficulties in accessing financing and high inflation continued to weigh on companies' performance and consumer demand. "Headline inflation declined to 15.9 per cent by end-November, from 18.5 per cent at end of 2016, but remains sticky despite tight liquidity conditions. "High fiscal deficits – driven by weak revenue mobilisation – generated large financing needs, which, when combined with tight monetary policy necessary to reduce inflationary pressures, increased pressure on bond yields and crowded out private sector credit." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
4 Ways to Prevent Food From Going to Waste Posted: 24 Dec 2017 12:31 AM PST You can eat better, healthier and save yourself the cost of wasted food by simply employing some helpful tips to prevent food from going to waste. Jumia Food shares some of the ways to prevent food from going to waste. Store The Food Properly This is quite obvious, however, it is sometimes ignored when food is being kept away or stored. You can easily store your food by refrigerating (for foods or fruits like lettuce, cabbage, apples, oranges, cucumbers etc.), keeping in a cool dark place (for foods like potatoes, onions, garlic etc.) and leaving it out on the kitchen counter (for food or fruits like whole watermelon, plantains, tomatoes, avocados etc.) Keep It in Plain Sight For food that spoil easily like dairy products, leave them at the door of your fridge or on the kitchen counter so you are more likely to grab and consume them often. Sometimes food goes to waste not because we intend to let it happen, but because we totally forgot we had them in the first place. Keeping these foods that spoil easily in plain sight will reduce its chances of going to waste. Swap Food Smartly If a recipe calls for a particular ingredient rather than going out to the store to get it, consider if you have anything at home that will make a nice swap for the ingredient. This way you're less likely to have food going to waste because you were not able to use them on time. Try To Come Up with Several Uses for Your Food Items This isn't as hard as it might sound. The best part of food is how versatile it can at times be. One food item can be used in many different ways and a visit to a recipe book or online food websites will open you up to the many uses of individual food items. This way rather than letting your food go to waste, you can simply 'multitask your ingredients' by using it in another way. Use Them For Natural Beauty Recipes Rather than letting that 'over-ripe' banana go to waste, why don't you use it to make a face scrub that will soften your skin? You can also use foods like old yoghurt and leftover nuts to make a foot scrub to soften the skin of your feet. These are just some of the many ways food can be used as 'beauty ingredients' instead of being wasted. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Fuel Scarcity: NNPC Intensifies Efforts To Flood Market With Products Posted: 24 Dec 2017 12:06 AM PST The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has intensified efforts to flood the market with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), otherwise called petrol, and other products, as a way of ending the lingering fuel scarcity. Already, six major marketers: Total, Forte Oil, Oando Plc, MRS, 11 Plc and Nipco Plc, are now loading products round the clock from their various depots in Lagos for onward trucking to all parts of the Country. The supplies are mostly from Cargoes of PMS imported to by NNPC which are daily berthing and immediately being made to discharge their products to stem the supply hiccups. The imported products are also being supplemented by supplies from the local refineries. NNPC assures Nigerians to remain calm and not to engage in panic buying as the end of the challenge is near. Marketers are strongly advised against hoarding as security agencies, working with industry regulators, would mete out appropriate sanctions to defaulters. Earlier in the week, NNPC GMD, Dr. Maikanti Baru, had stated that the Corporation's 1billion litres PMS cargo imports had started to arrive, saying supplies to parts of the country had been doubled to 80million litres per day since the current hiccup in the supply chain was noticed a few days back. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
