Popular Kenyan Artist Akothee Accuses Ex-Boyfriend Of Stealing From Her And Blackmailing Her | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 04:11 AM PDT

Popular Kenyan artist, Akothee in a social media post shared some details of her last relationship.

According to the very wealthy singer, her ex-boyfriend stole from her. He made away with expensive necklaces, money and mobile phone, items he gave to his side chick.

Not stopping there, Akothee also revealed that he has been trying to blackmail, saying he would share her nudes on should she leave him.

Read her post below...

"A man I dated in the past stole my expensive gold chains sold some and took some to his side chick. He always denied not having an affair. So, so one day they took a photo and forgot to take out the chain. Sema aibu! Every time I came home with my wallet, money was missing; yet we were just the two of us" she said.

"He would start fights from nowhere, just to get to run away and come back when his well was dry. I did not know about Bluetooth. I had a very beautiful picture of mine in my birth suit. He stole my phone and transferred the picture to his phone.

"So, every time I wanted to dump him he would send the photo telling me:

"Kumbuka nina siri zako nyingi."
"I got so tired of this [expletive]. I just woke up one day and asked him to post the photo or I'd help him do it. He won't let my phone rest (sic); he would scroll through all my WhatsApp conversations and attack me with messages from people I did not even know.
"I never have passwords on my phones because I am straight, but his, even when his phone rang, you had to key in a password to see who was calling.

"He would create drama over wanting to have a baby with me. 'Baby, mbona hutaki kunizalia?'
"I would go behind the house, laugh and ask myself: 'You can't even take care of yourself! You think a baby is a teddy bear?'

"I was so worn out; I was very tired and unhappy. Every time I thought of dumping him, I felt so empty; I was weak to let go.

"Papa Ojwang wanted to beat him up; he could not stand seeing his baby mama sad. I had all the money in the world but was always feeling empty

"I woke up one day and said enough is enough, I dumped his [expletive] like… Never to hear from him again, blocked him everywhere. Now I am breathing fresh air. Above all, he sees me only on breaking news. Women wake up"

Cause of fire in Ubi Franklin's house revealed | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 04:11 AM PDT

Social media woke up to the news of music executive Ubi Franklin's home being gutted by fire.

Well the casue of the fire has been revealed by Ubi, who says a faulty AC in the house started the fire.

Here's what he wrote;

"Anyone who knows me knows I wake up very early.
I don't stay in bed past 6:am latest 7:am
Except I went to bed at about that time.
So I woke up this morning was getting set for work.
I had my friends come in from out of town and I was like since I live alone they should come stay at mine.
So I had just finished praying and was getting my gadgets ready for work and I heard one of my friends shouting fire fire Ubi Fire Fire ?
I came out the whole house was filled up with smoke I was confused on where to start.
The fire started from the Faulty AC.
Guess what all the water taps in the entire house stopped working.
I had to get the bottled water from the fridge and started with that and nothing
It was raining heavy at the time I don't think there was an amount of shouting that could be heard by a neighbour.
so I found water somewhere and used the morning fresh in the kitchen and still nothing, my friend found poundo yam flour in the kitchen and we soaked that in water and finally we were able to contain that fire.
At some point, I couldn't see anymore cos of the smoke covered the whole house and I fell ?
We all need to be careful, just last week same AC burnt down a friends house and left him and his family with nothing.
This AC burning down houses is getting too much.
Be careful and be vigilant.
I Pray God keeps us and our loved ones safe ??????
Thank God for everything.
Alive and well
Properties can be replaced But life can't be
Thank you God for keeping The irreplaceable ALIVE"

Some mechanics can not make heaven - Lara Wise on her experience with one | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 04:11 AM PDT

AIT presenter Lara Wise, is seriously angry with her mechanic as she took to social media to let everyone know mechanics will not make heaven.

Sharing her experience with one, she wrote:

He is not my mechanic. My mechanic of over four years is far from my house. This guy is just a walking distance away from my house. We see everyday as I drive out and in. We got acquainted over the years having realized we share the same faith. He is so passionate about God. I would sometimes stop by to gist. We would talk politics, faith, and life in general. He fixed very minor problems on the car ranging from replacing lose screws to greasing tight knots. Minor stuff.

Tor.

Two weeks ago he told me my 'silencer' was leaking and driving the car like that would cost me too much fuel. He went under the car, told me it was completely condemned. He brought it out, and, yes, it was. I had worked on it severally. We had to buy a new one. He told me how much. We haggled. I paid. Left the car with him. Hoped in a taxi to do my runs. He returned the car at night. Following morning, I started the car, it sounded like an aircraft. So noisy. I called him. He said he wasn't coming to the shop that day as he had an outside job. I left the car. Picked a cab. Did my runs. I drove the car to him again the following day. Dropped it there and went to work. I picked my car on my way back and as far as I was concerned, it was okay. When I asked why the initial noise, he told me some screws were not firmly tightened. He then said he realized that the 'silencer' he fixed on my car was too weak for my six-cylinder engine so he had to get a higher grade which cost him three thousand naira extra.
Ok.

On Saturday , I drove to my main mechanic to discuss some pending issues and as soon as I drove in, he told me my 'silencer' was leaking. I shot him a terrible glance of " you must be out of your mind. My 'silencer' is brand new". He got under the car and screamed. "Madam, did you say this 'silencer is new?" to which I replied in the affirmative. He took pictures from underneath the car and showed me on his phone. I felt my breakfast fighting its way up from my stomach to my throat.
I called my 'brother' and handed the phone to my mechanic and he got a tongue lash from him for being so dubious.
My 'brother' then told me to bring it back on Monday since it was a Saturday and he had just been bereaved.
Monday morning.
I went to his shop and all I asked was for us to drive to where he purchased my 'silencer'. I was no longer the sweet madam he was used to. I opened the passenger side door and insisted he must hop into the car.
Then his countenancechanged.
He went flat on the floor begging in the name of God.
I asked him to bring out the 'silencer'.
Ladies and gentlemen, look at the pictures.
Old, worn-out 'silencer'.
He confessed that he got an old 'silencer' and refurbished it for me. He said he bought some iron sheets and wrapped the old 'silencer' from inside.
He begged and begged.
I was hamstrung.
Conclusion.
I should give him till next weekend to get me what I paid for.
I was sad and I still am.
What we do to ourselves in terms of harm and wickedness is grave and so unimaginable.

Lagos Hospital Discharge Psychiatric Patients Due to Strike

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 03:52 AM PDT

As the strike declared by health workers under the aegis of the Joint Health Sector Union (JOHESU) bites harder, the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) and the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, have hurriedly discharged patients admitted in the hospitals.

This is because majority of the nurses that should care for them have joined the industrial action.

The development has compelled the Federal Government to appeal to JOHESU to call off the strike.

Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige, said that government was working assiduously towards addressing the demands of the health workers.
Investigations by New Telegraph revealed that about 90 per cent of patients on admission at the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, Lagos, have so far been discharged.

Also in LUTH, a reliable source said majority of the over 300 patients admitted in the teaching hospital have been discharged, leaving only 120 patients in the wards, due to non-availability of nurses, majority of who are also on strike.
A source at the hospital said that after discharging the patients, LUTH management had to merge some wards, bringing the remaining patients together, as a strategy to manage the situation.

She said: "As at Friday, the management of LUTH had discharged up to 40 patients on admission in the hospital.

"By yesterday, more patients had been asked to go, leaving 120 patients only in the wards to enable the few nurses at the cadre of management staff to care for them."

According to the source, "to make it possible for the top nurses to cope with the huge workload, patients from different wards were merged into the same ward."

Similarly, going by the strike, which was declared on Wednesday, September 20, most patients who had arrived both LUTH and the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital to seek care on Monday, did not meet their expectations in terms of service provisioning.

BIAFRA: Letter To Nnamdi Kanu

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 03:52 AM PDT

by Reuben Abati
Dear Nnamdi Kanu,
We have never met. I only know you by reputation and I have had cause in the last year to write on your activities within the public arena and offer my own views about you, your persona, and your interventions in the Nigerian debate. I sincerely hope you would get to read this letter wherever you may be, that is assuming you are still alive.

Your father's house was recently invaded by the Nigerian military (surprised you don't have a house of your own!). We were later told that you simply disappeared into thin air, along with your parents.

The murderous Operation Python Dance II that was unleashed on Igboland by the Federal Government of Nigeria has since become a subject of national interest. Many people have proclaimed that you have been killed, abducted and that many members of your family and movement – the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have been wasted. Some people said you were called The Lion, but when trouble came, you were the first to run away from the zoo.

You had boasted that you will deal with any invading force from Abuja. You also said it would be "Biafra or Death". But when death came calling in the shape of Operation Python Dance II, your enemies insisted that you should have waited. Don't mind them, oh. I have defended you in another piece where I argued that it is probably better to run away so you can live to fight another day. Of course, it is not every revolutionary that runs away.

Che Guevara died in the struggle, and Martin Luther King, Patrice Lumumba, and so on. Nelson Mandela was jailed for life, but he lived to tell the story. In your case, the way the Nigerian state has been carrying on, it is clear they don't want you to tell any more stories. You have been charged for treason. You have now been labeled a terrorist. Your organization has been proscribed, and labeled an enemy of the Nigerian state. A week after soldiers stormed your state, neighbourhood and home, the Nigerian Air Force began to drop its men from helicopters all over Igboland. They call it show of force.

I guess all of that is to let you and your men know that wherever you are, the Nigerian state is determined to hunt you down. If you are on land, they will grab you. If you hide in the skies, the Air Force will bring you down. And if you hide in the seas, the Nigerian Navy and the Amphibious Brigade of the Nigeria Army will fish you out. Officially, we have been told that you and IPOB are worse than violent herdsmen and the Boko Haram who have killed thousands of Nigerians in the last year alone. The Boko Haram has been declared the fourth most violent group in the world, but the Nigerian government insists that you pose a greater threat. In fact, a government spokesperson sounded as if there is a secret plan in place to give herdsmen and the Boko Haram national honours.

There is probably something that the Nigerian government and state actors know that we do not know. You were dealing with the charge of treason, now there is the additional allegation of terrorism. Don't ever deceive yourself that if you get arrested again, you'd be released, except perhaps you change your identity and claim that you are now a herdsman or a member of the Boko Haram. There may be many people who have Nicodemus access to you who may be telling you to come and confront the Nigerian state. That is how Nigerians sweet-tongue people to their death. I am sure that by now, from your hiding place, you would have learnt some lessons.

The Nigerian state may be against you, but the people you really have to fear are the same people you claim to be leading, that is the same people who used to call you messiah and who followed you about, kneeling before you and kissing the ground on which you walked. Of what use is a change-agent without committed followers? Of what use is a revolution without the people's buy-in? Of what use is an ideology without foot-soldiers?

The moment the Federal Government activated Operation Python II, most of the people who used to support you have gone completely silent. The Biafra Secret Service is nowhere to be seen. The Biafra National Guard threw away its uniform. Some of those boys who used to wave the Biafran flag and wear the Biafran cap have thrown them away too. One or two persons are still issuing statements on behalf of IPOB, but even those statements sound like they were issued from business centres. Your own kinsmen have called you a tyrant and an opportunist. Many of them have written social media pieces advising the Federal Government to deal with you, because you don't listen to advice. They even say you are not a true revolutionary but a gold-digger.

In all manner of ways, the Governors of the five Igbo states are using you to play politics. They have declared IPOB an illegal organization. They are openly abusing you. All the big men in Igbo land are as quiet as the dead sea. Igbo traditional rulers have refused to support your father who is their colleague. Some of them have in fact asked the Abia state Governor to withdraw his certificate and staff of office and appoint another person in his place. Even the big men who signed your bail documents have refused to defend you. You used to boast about international support for the Biafran cause. It has been said that the government now knows some "treasury looters" and international groups who are funding you and that IPOB accounts have been traced to some countries, particularly France. The French and the Turkish promptly distanced themselves from you. But the European Union and the United States spoke nicely. America says IPOB is not a terrorist organization and America will know.

But the Nigerian government that may not know half of what America knows is insisting that it is now a crime for anybody, even as young as five years old to identify with Biafra, regardless of the Constitutional right to the freedom of speech and association and the right to self-determination enshrined in the UN Charter. Indeed, it would appear as if the Nigerian Government has been able to break the spine of your movement, at least for now, and certainly, the way things are, the November 18 election in Anambra state will take place – with or without you. If anybody expected that there would be a massive protest in the South East over the treatment that has been meted out to you, that has not quite happened. All the markets in the South East are open; Igbo traders across Nigeria have moved on with their businesses. Life is so normal in the South East, the Nigerian military is dancing and beating its chest.

Northern and South Eastern Governors are holding meetings and congratulating each other. You turned 50 yesterday, apart from a few messages on social media, everywhere was quiet in the South-East. If this had been a month ago, the crowd that would have gathered at your doorstep would have stretched from Isiama Afara to Afikpo, and the cakes you would have received would have been uncountable. Rochas Okorocha recently got 27 birthday cakes, presented by 27 women, representing the same number of local governments in Imo State, you probably would have received a cake from every local government in the entire South East!

Since your disappearance there has also been little talk about self-determination or Biafra among Igbos. The sound of the narrative is gradually changing. There is more talk these days about Igbo marginalization, and the need to appoint Igbos into offices. One prominent Northerner from Kaduna has since gone to Chatham House in the UK to say Igbos should not complain about marginalization when they didn't vote for President Buhari in 2015, and that it is foolish for any Nigerian to expect to reap where he or she did not sow. Nnamdi, you'd be surprised that appointment-seeking Igbos will mobilise your people, including your followers, to vote massively for the same people who are currently hounding you, in 2019. You can be sure this will happen. In fact some people are already boasting that the only way to have peace in Nigeria is to make an Igbo man President or Vice President in 2019. While you were shouting "Biafra or death", some people were eyeing the business and political side of things. Every proposed revolution often runs into its own contradictions.

But don't worry. It may be fashionable now to criticise Nnamdi Kanu but the wisdom of the mob is not always the best guide. I sincerely hope that you are alive, and that you'd not end up as an Abogunrin. Not every man has the opportunity to witness what life would be like after his own funeral. Treachery is one of those unsavoury ingredients of the change process. The deserters of the cause would claim they prefer to survive. The coffin maker prays fervently for business but he would never wish that his own family members should die. But take heart, hope is not lost. The fire that you have lit will continue to burn. Your struggle speaks directly to the subject of the national question. You have reminded all and sundry that Nigeria remains a troubled country and that there are many unresolved issues. Every effort has been made to kill your voice, and your movement, but the ideas that you have forced out of the cupboard will continue to resonate.

The good news also is that there are Nigerians in diaspora who have taken up the struggle. They went to demonstrate at the 72nd United Nations General Assembly in New York and on the streets of London. Your friends, FFK and Ayo Fayose are still standing by you. There are many others out there who also do not agree that you are a terrorist, even if they do not agree with your methods and rhetoric. You have also exposed the hypocrisy of the Igbo elite. You have exposed the desperation of the ruling class. Don't let your head swell, though. If I must tell you the truth, you over-acted. Too much acting dey spoil cinema. You paid too much attention to ceremony. You were obsessed with your own heroism.

As you read this piece and reflect on your life at 50, let me remind you of the following statement which you made on August 27, 2017:

"Where we are is Biafra land. Aba is the spiritual capital of Biafra land. We started in Aba in 2015 at CKC. That day, heaven authenticated our move that IPOB will restore Biafra and that's what we have come to do. We died in Aba at National High School. They shot and killed us in other places in Biafra land where they were protesting for my release. As our people rest in the grave, we'll never rest until Biafra is restored. I don't care what they say in Abuja. I don't give a damn what they say in Lagos. I'm a Biafran and we are going to crumble the zoo. Some idiots who are not educated said that they'll arrest me, and I ask them to come, I'm in Biafra. If any of them leaves Biafra land alive, know that this is not IPOB. Tell them what I said. Tell Buhari that I am in Aba and any person who comes to arrest Nnamdi Kanu in Biafra land will die here. I'll never go on exile I assure you. Some people talk about restructuring, are we doing the restructuring of Nigeria now? Are we doing fiscal Federalism? Are we doing devolution? What we want is Biafra! Forget all the nonsense they write about us. We are not slowing down and no man born of a woman can stop us…"

Words on marble, Mazi Kanu, these are strong words on marble… Whatever happens, the fight of the python and the lion is a defining moment for Nigeria.

FG To Reintroduce Tolls On Federal Highways

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 03:22 AM PDT

The Federal Government on Monday said it would reintroduce tolling on the nation's highways to raise the much needed funds to maintain the roads.
"The Federal Government is reconstructing and rehabilitating 25 arterial roads with an aggressive plan to spend about N 16.7 bn for each geopolitical zone across the country."

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, stated this while addressing members of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, who visited him in his office in Abuja.

The minister's position may be an endorsement of the Senate's proposal in July for the return of tolls on federal roads and the setting aside of 0.5 percent of transport fares paid by passengers on inter-state trips to generate funds for the rehabilitation and maintenance of roads in the country .

Fashola said the tolling system would only be introduced to road projects that had been completed by the government.

Fashola gave some of the prioritised road projects as the dualisation of Ibadan-Ilorin road, Suleja-Minna road, Kano-Maiduguri road and Lokoja-Benin road, as well as the rehabilitation of the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway and the construction of the Kaduna Eastern Bypass.

From all indications, things have fallen apart and the center can no longer hold. Still, let peace reign.

Snake expert live streams suicide after letting pet black mamba bite him over wife's alleged infidelity | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 03:16 AM PDT

A well-known Russian snake expert filmed himself dying on a live stream broadcast after he let his pet black mamba bite his hand apparently brokenhearted over the breakup of his marriage.

In deeply disturbing footage, video blogger Arslan Valeev, 31, from St Petersburg, pleaded with viewers to call his ex-wife as he visibly deteriorated on camera and his limbs became numb.

The actual snake bite and moment of death were not shown, but the blogger - a former zoo employee - allowed viewers to see the bite on his hand.
At the end of the footage, he got up from his chair and staggered off camera, possibly towards a bathroom. He died soon afterwards.

He and wife Ekaterina 'Katya' Pyatyzhkina were famous in Russia for running several YouTube channels about snakes and their pet bobcats, with hundreds of thousands of followers.
Friends said that on 4 August he had accused her of cheating on him.

Valeev beat her and she suffered concussion, it was reported.
He later repented and on 21 September publicly apologised to her for his behaviour, saying that their sexual relationship had ended in July.

APC At War With Sagay Over "Rogue Elephant" Comment

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 02:52 AM PDT

The APC has described the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), as a "rogue elephant" who lacks respect for President Muhammadu Buhari.

The party, in a statement on Monday, accused Sagay of displaying contempt for everyone but himself in a recent interview published in a national daily.

Sagay, in his reaction, however, described the leadership of the APC as a bunch of hungry people who were undermining the progress of government by attempting to appease corrupt people.

In a statement by APC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party alleged that the professor of Law cast aspersions on the party and its leadership in the interview.

The APC spokesman said, "In the said interview, Sagay described the leadership of the APC as "the most unprincipled group of people" who are "encouraging and accepting rogues" in the party.

"He (Sagay) said, 'When I say rogues, I don't mean stealing. In literature, when you say someone is a rogue elephant, it means people who are running riot and destroying the party."

Abdullahi added, "The Webster Dictionary defines rogue elephant as 'one whose behaviour resembles that of a rogue elephant in being aberrant or independent'.

"Clearly, if we have today anyone in our government or by extension, the party who feels accountable only to his own ego; who does not feel the need to bridle his tongue for the sake of anything that is higher than himself; who feels independent of everyone and every institution; that person is Professor Sagay."

The APC argued that Sagay's insistence that he could go ahead to talk even if the President, who is his employer, asked him to stop talking, was like saying "no matter what is at stake, he would rather resign than obey the President if the President tries to restrain him. This is the quintessential rogue elephant behaviour."

The statement added, "In his sheer arrogance, he forgets that it is impossible for him to call out the leadership of the party as 'weak' and 'unprincipled' without indicting the President, who is the leader of the party and has the fundamental responsibility to build the party.

"If Sagay had any iota of respect for the man who dug him back from inevitable oblivion and put him in a position in which he now feels superior to everyone, he would channel his opinions and advice to the President on how to make the party stronger and more principled.

"It appears however that Sagay does not have anything constructive to say about anything. He only knows how to tear down and assault everyone and everything."

The party reminded Sagay and all other appointees of government that the only reason they occupied their current positions today was because the APC won the 2015 elections.

The Prof's position
But in his reaction, Sagay said he was an accomplished man long before any appointment, describing his attackers as ''come and chop'' politicians.

The senior advocate added that his loyalty was to the President and not to the party which he believed had continued to fail under the leadership of John Odigie-Oyegun.

He said, "To start with, I am not a 'come and chop' person as they are. I did not come to 'chop'; so they are not doing me a favour. They are the ones that come to 'chop'.

"Secondly, my criticism of APC is not against President Buhari who I think is a man of great honour, integrity and whom I admire and who inspires me.

"I took this job because of Buhari and Osinbajo, who I admire greatly. The people I am referring to in my criticism are John Odigie-Oyegun and one Bolaji Abdullahi, who is (Senate President Bukola) Saraki's Man Friday. They are dining with the devil who wants to destroy the party.

"What is APC without Buhari, Osinbajo and Tinubu? The Oyegun-led executive, which is doing a policy of appeasement, will destroy the party."

Alleged serial cannibal Dmitry Baksheev used dating sites to recruit women who he and his wife then killed and ate, it is claimed.

Wife Natalia Baksheeva has told police the gruesome family had at least 30 victims over 18 years, and it is feared she fed human meat to student pilots in the military academy where she was a nurse, according to reports in Russia.

According to Daily Mail,State investigators are seeking to verify the claims about dozens of victims of the sinister pair from Krasnodar who were detained after seven bags of body parts were found in their fridge and freezer.

At least one jar with pickled human remains, and 19 slices of skin were also discovered in the macabre flat.
Many cans with steamed meat were found in their kitchen, a source told Komsomolskaya Pravda.
Today it was claimed that wife Natalia Baksheeva, 42, had taken her 35 year old orphan husband in as a teenager and wed him when he turned 18.
Police fear that Baksheev found victims by setting up meetings on dating websites.

His wife is reported to have been shown the faces of missing women in southern Russia and identified dozens who she claimed were their victims.

A police source said:
'Going through the photographs, the woman has recognised more than 30 victims that they killed and eaten together with her husband.
'A psychologist was sent from Nizhny Novgorod to make her talk.'
Separate reports say Natalia was checked by a psychiatric hospital and found to be 'mentally healthy'.

In their home, many mobile phones of their victims were found, and also video lessons on how to cook meals from human meat,' said the police source.
'This woman had been working in the military academy as a nurse and supposedly she was sharing these cans of steamed human meat with student pilots.'
Baksheev was originally detained after a man found his mobile in the street in regional capital Krasnodar and saw images of him posing for selfies with a woman's body parts.
'He took a selfie with the hard in his mouth, at the same time he put the fingers of the dead hand into his nose,' said a police report.
'Then he cut one finger with a knife.'
A police source added:
'The earliest date of their culinary experiment is 28 December 1999 - the date on one of the photographs.
'We can see a cooked human head at the big plate surrounded by mandarins.
'They put olives into the eyes and attacked a lemon to the nose.
A police search found body parts in a rubbish container near the hostel where the pair lived, and a red-haired woman's head in a metal bucket, with human skin nearby.
More human remains were found in a cellar.
He confessed to throwing away the body parts, telling police: 'I did a stupid thing.'
The woman was identified as Elena B, who lived in the same military academy where the alleged cannibal couple resided.
It is believed she was killed in a forest nearby and her dismembered remains were carried to his home by Baksheev in a backpack.
Victim
Both suspects have been detained pending further investigations.

Divorce-Seeking Wife Tells Court To Place Her Husband On 6-Months Probation

Posted: 26 Sep 2017 02:07 AM PDT

A housewife who had filed for the divorce of her 9-year marriage to her husband over alleged constant physical abuse by her husband, has decided to give their marriage another chance.

A Customary Court sitting in Ikole-Ekiti on Monday adjourned hearing in a divorce case to March 28, 2018, after a housewife, Mrs Adenike Ogunsakin, prayed it to place her husband, Olamide Olabode on a six-month probation that he would be of good behaviour.

Adenike had filed for the divorce of their 9-year marriage over alleged physical abuse by her husband.

At the last adjourned date, the President of the Court, Yemisi Ojo, who sued for amicable resolution of the matter, ordered the embattled couple to seek family members' intervention.

At the resumed hearing on Monday, the wife told the court that some family members had intervened with the husband's promise to a turn a new leaf.

She, however, urged the court to place her husband on six months' probation before she could file for withdrawal of the case.

Adenike told the court that the period would allow her to do a proper-behavioural-change assessment of her husband as he had promised both families.

"I want to inform the court that as directed that we should allow family members to intervene on the last adjourned date, our families had settled the matter for us.
"At the resolution meeting of both parties, my husband promised to change for good and has started towing that line.

"But I want the court to give me six months to place him on probation if he will truly change because we have had such amicable settlements in the past only for my husband to renege on his promises."
