| Obasanjo Gets New High-Level Appointment Into UN Posted: 07 Nov 2017 04:10 AM PST  The Secretary-General, Antonio Gutierrez, in September announced the establishment of the board to provide him with advice on mediation initiatives, back specific mediation efforts around the world. The Board is composed of 18 current, former global leaders, senior officials and renowned experts who bring together an unparalleled range of experience, skills, knowledge and contacts. The Secretary-General said the establishment of the Board is part of "surge in diplomacy for peace" he has consistently advocated, and gives due priority to UN's prevention and mediation work. The Board is expected to allow the UN to work more effectively with regional organizations, non-governmental groups and others involved in mediation around the world. National Coordinator of the group, Comrade Francis Ikonomwan, in a statement made available to journalists in Benin, Edo State, described the call by members of Buhari Support Group on him to contest the 2019 election, as political sycophancy. He described members of the Buhari Support Group as a "bunch of people who do not mean well for our party, APC, and Nigerians at large, but rather, they represent their selfish interest." Comrade Ikonomwan who noted that President Buhari has failed to deliver on his campaign promises and so Nigerians can no longer entrust him with the leadership of the country, urged him to ignore such calls, adding that it is not i the interest of the nation. "We are saddened that these people are not sensitive to the plight of Nigerians. The fact remains that Nigerians are not happy with President Muhammadu Buhari and our party, the APC. "President Muhammadu Buhari has not been able to deliver on his campaign promises. What has this administration to campaign with in every sector of the economy or is it the fight against corruption that has been swept under the carpet? | Mr 2kay sues Eko Hotel for N500M over robbery incident Posted: 07 Nov 2017 04:10 AM PST  Following the unfortunate incident, the singer has decided to sue the management for N500m. The incident, according to his record label Graftin, happened at about 11pm on the said date. The robbers, 4 in number, gained access into his room after he mistook one of them for room service. They forced their way into his room and waved a gun with threats to shoot him if he made a noise. Mr. 2Kay, who was in the room with a friend, struggled with one of the guys, as the others punched and hit him with a gun, repeatedly warning that they will shoot if he doesn't calm down. One of the robbers led and locked 2Kay's friend in the bathroom, while the others tied the singer's arms, legs and mouth and took his valuables including jewelry, clothes, perfumes, phones, and money. They also cut the room's intercom (phone) to avoid any communication as they left the hotel. I shy away from talent monetization simply because before money starts flowing in, there are things that needs to be in place. But most talented people are so in haste to reap the fruits of their labours that they end up reaping unripe fruits. I want to share with you just four bullets that you need to shoot in order for money to start flowing in. - Be Good In whatever you do please and please make sure you have developed yourself to a certain level before promoting yourself or talents/products. People pay for things more when those things were recommended to them by someone else and the simple truth Is no matter how well packaged you are, if you are not good, no one will recommend you. I know of a comedian who doesn't spend money on promoting himself but the money he gets on a monthly basis even most of the so called popular comedians can't boast of it. Why? The guy is just so goooooood. - Good Packaging To be good is good but that isn't enough. People are more attracted to the packaging of a product before deciding whether to pay for it or not. How you package your talents will determine how much will be paid for them. If you package your talent(s) cheaply, people will bargain with you as if they are pricing to buy crayfish. - Let The World Know That You Are In It For The Money You need to let everyone that cares to listen know that you are in it for the money from the onset otherwise, they will expect you to do free stuff. It's sad when people expect you to do free stuff but these same people will pay heavily on someone else who does the same thing with you. You should be the one to decide when to do free stuff not someone else. Most people are sometimes surprised when some talented people ask them to pay for services rendered why? Because they thought they are doing it as an hobby. People need to know that this is your job and not just an hobby. - Build A Very Viable Brand A good brand cannot be unnoticed. A brand is not just a name, it's an identity, it carries the DNA of what you do. Brands give people bragging rights. Nowadays, people don't just buy products or pay for services, they pay for brands. For example, which would you prefer to wear; a made in Aba wear or a Gucci or Louis Vulton wear. Even if an Aba company produces quality wears most people will still dish it for a brand. The wisdom of a poor man is not always regarded. Kakehi became notorious after using the poison to dispatch a number of elderly men she was involved with, drawing comparisons with the spider that kills its mate after copulation. "The accused made the victims drink a cyanide compound with a murderous intention in all the four cases," Judge Ayako Nakagawa told the court, according to public broadcaster NHK.The Telegraph Nakagawa rejected defence lawyers' arguments that Kakehi was not criminally liable because she was suffering from dementia. Prosecutors said she killed the men after they made her the beneficiary of life assurance policies that ran into millions of pounds. She reportedly amassed one billion yen (£6.7million) in payouts over 10 years but subsequently lost most of the fortune through unsuccessful financial trading. She had relationships with many men, mostly elderly or ill who she met through dating agencies where she reportedly stipulated that prospective partners should be wealthy and childless. Kakehi, who is also known as "The Poison Lady", is said to have stashed some of her cyanide in a plant pot she later threw out. The poison was found in the body of at least two of the men she was involved with and police reportedly found traces of cyanide in the rubbish at her Kyoto home. They also found paraphernalia for administering drugs and medical books at an apartment she kept. Kakehi initially refused to speak when her trial began in June but later stunned the court by admitting killing her fourth husband in 2013. "I killed him... because he gave other women tens of millions of yen but did not give me even a penny," she told the court, according to Jiji Press. The accused earlier told judges she was ready to be hanged. "Even if I were executed tomorrow, I would die smiling," Kakehi told judges. Ashura commemorates the death of Hussein, the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed. IMN members from across the mainly Sunni Muslim north typically converge on Kano to walk to Zaria in neighbouring Kaduna state, where their leader Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky has his headquarters. "When the procession by the IMN adherents moved towards Zaria Road, the police began firing tear gas followed by live bullets," Ismail told AFP. Abdurrahman Usman, a civil engineering student at Bayero University Kano, said: "I was shown the picture of one of the victims whom I recognised as my course mate, Husaina. "Her father is a lecturer at the university." Kano police strongly denied using live bullets and killing any protesters. IMN leader Zakzaky has been at loggerheads with Nigeria's secular authorities over the years because of his call for an Iranian-style Islamic revolution. He has been in custody since troops clashed with his followers in Zaria in December 2015. Troops allegedly killed more than 300 IMN supporters and buried them in mass graves to hide their crimes, rights groups say. IMN spokesman Yosuf Abdullahi also said three people — "a brother and two sisters" — were killed in Sunday's procession, "by those constitutionally mandated to protect them", calling it an "unprovoked attack". He also identified Husaina as one of the victims, alongside a father of one and a mother of four children, and said there were a "high number" of injured and arrested, without specifying numbers. – Police denial – Kano police said the IMN statement was "baseless, mischievous and aimed at diverting the attention of the populace (to) gain cheap sympathy". Spokesman Magaji Musa Majia said the IMN had been told not to hold the march but they ignored the warning. He accused members of the group of "molesting motorists and pelting innocent members of the public with stones". "The command dispersed them by using minimum force, no live ammunition was used. | Faces of couple charged for exposing neighbour’s N*dity after husband r*ped her Posted: 07 Nov 2017 01:55 AM PST  This was the outcome of the advice by the state Directorate of Public Prosecution, DPP, who has now taken over the matter for prosecution. In a letter dated 3 November, to the Deputy Commissioner of Police at SCIID Panti, Yaba, signed by the Assistant Director of DPP, Mr. M.T. Adeoye, the directorate confirmed this. The advice stated that going by the facts available in the duplicate case file, that it was obvious there were sufficient facts to establish prima facie case of s*xual assault and sending of obscene pictures on social media by the suspects. The case file revealed that Obinna called the lady's husband, one Kenneth Nwakaji to come collect his N1.2m share of the profit they made on a business transaction they had together. But Kenneth was unable to go and had to send his wife who was the victim to go to the hotel and collect the money on his behalf. When the wife went to the hotel in Egbeda area of Lagos, Obinna offered her a bottle of Guinness malt drink which she drank and immediately became unconscious. It was scooped that Obinna removed all her clothes in the hotel room and s*xually assaulted her. He recorded the video of the whole assault on his phone as a bargaining power to her husband to forget his own share of the profit. When the victim – a mother of three kids regained her consciousness, she discovered that she was totally Unclad and was then shown the video of the assault. She could not raise alarm because she was scared of losing her marriage. However, on 27 March, 2017, she discovered that her n*de pics had gone viral in the neighbourhood and it was traced to Obinna's wife, Chinyere.
