Woman Shares Photos of Her 4 Cute Sons: "Doctor Said I Didn’t Have Enough Eggs" Posted: 27 Dec 2017 01:12 AM PST The interesting story of Mrs. Oyinkansola O, who was told she didn't have enough eggs but gave birth to four boys. Her story is inspiring and it should challenge people to expect God to intervene even when the circumstance doesn't encourage it. She shared photos of her four boys with herself and her husband to appreciate the goodness of God for the blessing of family and wrote... 'So many blessings are mine, not so much coz I deserve them or did anything special. My God out of his infinite mercy has just been great to me. He has blessed me beyond believe and measure. I remember being told I didn't have enough eggs, but my God of more than enough blessed me with double. He blessed me with twins unexpectedly and unplanned for. I remember hearing "you are pregnant again?" "Why" "when will you finish school?" "When will you marry?" But when Baba God is involved, he aligns everything. Your mistakes fall into pleasant places. He gives you beauty for ashes, He turns your sorrow into joy. This is my story, this is my song, this is my joy, this is my family!!! From my family to yours merry Christmas and a happy new year...' culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Nigeria Police Officer Kill His Colleague By Mistake Posted: 26 Dec 2017 10:32 PM PST A police officer in Yenagoa was inadvertently shot and killed by a fellow policeman during a gun duel between the police and suspected cultists on Christmas day. An eyewitness who preferred anonymity, disclosed on Tuesday that the incident occurred on Christmas day at Obele Area of Ovom in Yenagoa, leaving residents in apprehension. According to the eyewitness, trouble started when a misunderstanding among the feasting cultists degenerated to a fight within the cult group, resulting to gunshots which eventually attracted a police patrol team to the area. The Police Command Spokesman, DSP Asinim Butswat, who confirmed the incident, said the killing was shocking. "Yes, the incident was between cultists but as the police went to find out what was going on, the cultists started shooting and one of the policemen mistakenly shot an officer. "Though, we are yet to get the full details because some of our men, who were at the scene, are supposed to brief us over the matter. "Nevertheless, the Police are intensifying efforts to ensure a crime-free environment for people in Bayelsa this period of Christmas celebration; we deployed over 4,000 personnel for patrol. "We adopted some strategies like 'Cordon and Search'; I must tell you, our men and women are fully on operations to safeguard lives and property," Butswat said. The spokesman urged the residents to continue with their lawful endeavours and support the police by providing timely and credible information on criminal activities. "I also urge them to continue to enjoy the Christmas celebration and steer clear of every criminal activity," he said. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Man vows to recoup money paid by his dad to prostitute | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 26 Dec 2017 10:09 PM PST A commercial sex worker has been threatened by a man who vowed to collect the money his dad allegedly paid for her service. The prostitute was visited in July this year by someone who accused her of sleeping with his father. The man threatened her and said he would take the money back that his father had paid. At a hearing about a case involving alleged invasion of privacy and threats by some persons, a judge heard how the prostitute, simply identified as GHY, has had her character defamed through spurious allegations by some men who allegedly wanted her services free of charge. She alleged that her privacy was being infringed upon. The judge ruled that, being a sex worker does not disqualify her from having a private life, granting an injunction to the escort who has been harassed online. GYH has been caused considerable distress by online publications about her sex life, physical and mental health, the High Court heard. These include allegations that she has HIV/AIDS, which she says are untrue. GYH brought proceedings in London against "persons unknown" as, despite extensive efforts, it has proved impossible to trace any individual who has posted the material. The perpetrator is still unknown, but is "most likely to be one male individual," the High Court heard. On Tuesday (today), Mr. Justice Warby said that an injunction was "amply justified" to restrain continued harassment of GYH and the misuse of private information about her. The fact that GYH had publicised that she was an escort providing sexual services was relevant, but did not disqualify her from the protection given to private life, he added. She is an "active user of social media and maintains a Facebook profile, a YouTube channel and a blog," the court heard. It would be going too far to say that a person providing sexual services for reward as an escort had an unqualified right to decide what information could be made public, the judge said. Mr. Justice Warby added: The judge added that if a sex worker practised unsafe sex and had contracted HIV/AIDS, yet continued to work, there would be a clear justification for warning those who might suffer the consequences. But GYH stated that she did not practise unsafe sex and was HIV negative — and there was "credible uncontradicted evidence" that the allegations were false, the judge said. The woman said the abuse began in December 2015 after she received a text message from someone claiming to be a student who wished to meet her socially but not pay for her services. When GYH declined, the conversation deteriorated into abuse. She also received anonymous phone calls with further abuse. Posts on a series of websites made allegations that she had spread sexually transmitted diseases, was anorexic and mentally ill, the court heard. They use both her work name and legal name and also include specific and identifiable information about her and pictures, which are "often altered in an offensive manner." How NNPC Caused Fuel Scarcity —Oil Marketer Posted: 26 Dec 2017 10:02 PM PST An oil and gas merchant, Capt. Emmanuel Iheanacho, has attributed the persistent scarcity of petrol to monopoly of the product by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). Iheanacho, also the Chairman, Integrated Oil and Gas Ltd., told NAN in Lagos on Tuesday that the inability of NNPC to create a window for private importers to import petrol also contributed to the scarcity. According to him, the current shortage in fuel importation gap was caused by the landing cost margin of N171 per litre and the selling cost pegged at N145 per litre. Iheanacho said it was unrealistic for marketers to import and sell at that rate. "The selling of the product at N145 per litre is no longer feasible with the current exchange rate. "Shortage of foreign exchange and increase in crude prices have made it unprofitable to import petrol and sell same at N145 per litre. "The problem is that importation of petrol is being handled, almost 100 per cent, by NNPC, while private importers backed out because the increase in crude price has made the landing cost high," he said. Iheanacho said that the marketers' huge debts of over N800bn had also contributed to their inability to import petrol. He said that most independent marketers had closed their companies due to inability to pay their workers. Iheanacho urged the Federal Government to settle all the outstanding debts owed marketers since 2015. According to him, commercial banks have started taking over the property and tank farms of some companies that could not repay their loans. NAN reports that loading of petrol had commenced in Apapa. A visit to Apapa on Tuesday showed that hundreds of trucks were on the queue waiting to load the product at Total, Forte Oil, Oando Plc, MRS, NIPCO and other private depots. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Disabled woman threatens suicide after LAGBUS accident | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 26 Dec 2017 09:49 PM PST A 25-year-old woman, Hanifat Kareem, has threatened to end her life after she lost a leg in an accident at the Ojota area of Lagos State. Kareem, who claimed that her husband had left her over the problem, said she was also out of job. PUNCH Metro learnt that the Ibadan, Oyo State indigene was going to see a friend in the Surulere area when she was hit by a LAGBUS vehicle in the Ojota area. She told our correspondent that she was dragged by the bus for some distance before some commuters stopped the vehicle around Ikosi, Ketu, the next bus stop. She said, "My ordeal started on Saturday, April 25, 2015, while I was going on a visit. I live in Magboro, Ogun State, and was heading for Surulere, Lagos State, that day. When I got to Ojota and was about to climb a pedestrian bridge, a LAGBUS hit me. PUNCH Metro learnt that the driver of the bus had been sacked by the company about three months to the incident. He was reported to have taken the vehicle from a friend who was still working with LAGBUS in order to make some money for himself. He was returning the bus when the accident happened. Kareem said LAGBUS paid her hospital bills and one of the officials, Tosin Alamu, asked her to go to the National Orthopaedic Hospital Igbobi, for a prosthetic leg. She said after she was given the artificial leg, Alamu invited her to the LAGBUS office at Ikosi, Ketu. "When I got there, he said the management had said I should be paid a compensation of N50,000. I was surprised because the money was too small. But he said that was all the government could give me and that he even struggled to get the money out. "He asked me to sign a document that I received the money, but I refused. I asked him for the cheque with which the money was issued, but he said the money was paid directly into his account and I should thank my stars that I was not on a BRT lane when the accident happened. He said the payment was on compassionate grounds," she added. The victim said six months after collecting the prosthetic leg, it got damaged and she called Alamu for help to repair it. She noted that the official shunned her. After raising N60,000 to buy a new one as the damage was reported to be irreparable, Kareeem said the new prosthetic leg developed another fault. "I could no longer walk well with it. When I approached the orthopaedic hospital, I was told that I would have to buy another one. I called Alamu the second time for help, but he abused me and said I should allow him to enjoy his life and I should never call him again. I returned to Igbobi after raising N40,000 and begged the man in charge, one Dimeji, to loan me the N20,000 balance and I promised to repay him. "Till now, I have not repaid the debt. I have two children aged three and five, and they have been out of school since last year. When my husband saw that the problem had become unbearable, he abandoned me. I am tired of my life and will kill myself if I can't find a way out," she said. A human rights activist, Rachael Sparkle, appealed to the state government to intervene in the case, adding that Kareem was depressed by her condition. "We know the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, is a good man. We want him to intervene. The state government should support her," she added. However, Alamu said the vehicle involved was owned by a company under LAGBUS franchise, adding that the affected organisation was defunct. He explained that as of the time of the incident, he was in charge of accident and emergency. He said, "Some people came to represent her. They were three human rights lawyers and it was what they demanded that they got. They asked for some amount, I think N100,000, and they collected the money. "We still talk as brother and sister and I don't know why she is making these allegations against me. LAGBUS did not pay any money. It was the subsidiary, which was operating under the franchise that paid the money. As of the time the accident happened, things were okay for the company. But now, the office is closed down. As I speak with you, I am at home and I don't have another job. I was owed six months' salaries." When our correspondent demanded the company's contact, he asked our correspondent to call LAGBUS since the organisation was under it. The LAGBUS Public Affairs Officer, Oluyemi Adesoye, said she would get in touch with the franchise department of the transport company to know if the case was reported. She promised to call back, but had yet to do so as of press time. culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |

4 Ways To Spot A Dysfunctional Workplace Posted: 26 Dec 2017 09:32 PM PST A dysfunctional company is one that can be said to have a 'foot in the grave', meaning its eventual closure is eminent. However, 'dysfunctionality' in an organization is not latent and can be very much spotted by looking out for some of the signs of a dysfunctional workplace. Jumia Travel shares some of the ways to spot a dysfunctional workplace. Communication Problems When there is an alarming prevalence of communication problems often between employers and supervisors, or between management and different departments as well as across different departments, you're most likely dealing with a dysfunctional company. As a result of these communication problems, issues such as misunderstandings, giving of misleading information, disagreements etc. would be the order of the day. Inconsistent Policies This usually manifests in the ignorance of all or most of the company's employees about what exactly the company is about and what exactly the goals/objectives of business are. Chaos, inconsistency and poor quality (especially in service delivery) usually follows, and customers, vendors and employees end up hating having to deal with the company and its staff. Narcissistic Leaders Their leaders are all about themselves and rarely give subordinates opportunities to shine, develop themselves and be better. As a result of this, there is usually little trust for the leaders in the workplace and high turnover rates as teamwork deteriorates. High Turnover Like has been briefly talked about in the above sub-topic, poor leadership as well as a weak company culture are the major contributors to high turnover in companies. It's really a bad sign, one of the major signs of a dysfunctional management and is something you need to take note of when dealing with any company. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Forgive me - Ex-president begs from hospital bed | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 26 Dec 2017 08:49 PM PST Peru's ailing former leader, Mr. Alberto Fujimori, is begging the people for forgiveness, two days after receiving a presidential pardon that sparked street protests. "I am aware that the results of my government were well received on one side, but I admit that I have let down other compatriots, and I ask them to forgive me with all my heart," Fujimori said in a Facebook video filmed from his hospital bed.The 79-year-old had been serving a 25-year sentence for corruption and human rights abuses committed during his time in office from 1990 to 2000. He was transferred from prison to a hospital on Saturday after suffering from low blood pressure and an irregular heartbeat, the latest in a string of hospitalizations. In the video, Fujimori lay propped up on a hospital bed wearing a white gown, with a blood pressure cuff on his right arm and another monitor clasped to his left index finger. He talked over the constant background beeping of a monitoring device. Gray-haired and with bags under his eyes, he spoke clearly, looking directly into the camera but also glancing down as if checking a prepared text that was out of the camera's view. President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski ordered the pardon of Fujimori and seven other prisoners Sunday on humanitarian grounds, placing himself in the middle of a political crisis just days after he avoided impeachment. The move set off street protests in Lima, and police fired tear gas and clashed with demonstrators who were marching Monday against the pardon and demanding that Kuczynski step down. The president defended his decision in a televised message to the nation. "I am convinced that those of us who feel democratic should not allow Alberto Fujimori to die in prison, because justice is not revenge," Kuczynski said in his address Monday night. Anti-riot police deployed to prevent demonstrators from heading to the clinic where Fujimori is hospitalized, firing tear gas canisters and erecting barricades to disperse them. A strong force of anti-riot police moved through the streets of Lima with the protesters and sought to prevent them from heading to the clinic where Fujimori is hospitalized, firing tear gas cannisters and erecting barricades to disperse the crowds "Out, out PPK! Out, out PPK!" demonstrators chanted in reference to the current president, who had promised during his electoral campaign last year that he would not free Fujimori. Relatives of victims of Fujimori's brutal rule took part in the march. "We are here as relatives to reject this illegal pardon, because it does not correspond to the gravity of the crimes," Gisella Ortiz, from a group of victims' families, told reporters. The pardon from Kuczynski came after Fujimori's son Kenji drained votes away from a parliamentary bid Thursday to impeach Kuczynski on suspicion of corruption, sparking speculation the pardon was political.
