Face of Man Arrested With Dead Baby In Polythene Bag Posted: 26 Dec 2017 03:21 AM PST A bus passenger, Ajiboye Emmanuel, has been arrested by operatives from the Ogun State Police Command after being caught with the corpse of a baby reportedly meant for rituals. The Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed this on Monday said the suspect wrapped the dead body in a polythene bag. He added that the 42-year-old boarded a vehicle at Sapade garage in Remo axis of the state, on December 22, with the polythene bag he was carrying. Mr. Oyeyemi said the odour emanating from the bag aroused the suspicion of people in the motor park who quickly alerted the police at Isara Division. "Upon the information, the DPO of Isara, Yusuf Taiwo, led policemen to the scene where the suspect was promptly arrested," he said. The police spokesman said after searching the bag, it was discovered that a dead baby was wrapped therein. "On interrogation, the suspect claimed that he was coming from Offa in Kwara State heading to Lagos where he intended to bury the baby." He said, the police, not satisfied with the claim, took the suspect to Isara Division for further investigation. The police are working on a hunch that the baby may have been killed for ritual purposes. The Commissioner of Police, Ahmed iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to homicide section of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for proper investigation. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Notorious Abubakar Shekau Is Now Crippled - Ex-Boko Haram Intelligence Chief Posted: 26 Dec 2017 12:11 AM PST A former Boko Haram Chief Intelligence Officer, Abdulkadir Abubakar, has revealed how the group's notorious leader, Abubakar Shekau, is now a cripple. Abubakar did not, however, disclose how Shekau became a cripple. The former Boko Haram CIO condemned the group's killings and advised Shekau to surrender as their activities have no place in Islam. Besides, he also warned Shekau to stop using innocent girls who are being hypnotised as human bombs. Abubakar, also known as Abu Muhammad, also warned other factional leaders of the group, such as Mamman Nur, Abbor Mainok, Abu Musad Albarnawi and Abbah Minok to repent from their deadly ways and embrace peace. Abubakar was the CIO of the terror group and one of its top commanders, until his arrest in June, this year, by the military, in Buni Yadi, in Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State. The former commander, who spoke to PRNigeria in his cell in Maiduguri, Borno State, regretted that a lot of innocent young girls were captured, tortured, hypnotised and used by Shekau, in suicide bombing. Shekau should remember that he was nobody but an ordinary student. He should remember that he had only two sets of clothes when we were in Maiduguri. "I remember telling him: 'Brother Shekau, why can't you buy more clothes to wear? And he told me he was afraid of meeting God on the day of judgement.' "He should look at himself and ask himself if he has achieved anything from the senseless cause. Despite all the looted wealth and power he has acquired, was he able to buy himself good health? "He is now a cripple; isn't that a lesson for him to learn and understand that God is punishing you for the pain you inflicted on others? "I am calling on Abubakar Shekau, Mamman Nur, Abbor Minok and Abu Musad Albarnawi to lay down their arms and to stop the senseless killings. "Shekau has continued to demonstrate his cruelty and atrocities against humanity. He had killed a lot of souls, destroyed homes and rendered people homeless. "He continues to exercise God's authority by killing innocent souls at will, without any justification. This was why all his commanders left him. "He doesn't have pity for the aged, women, children as well as young girls, who are mostly suffering and dying in his camp. "His followers are raping and committing all sort of atrocities under his nose while he continued to show no concern. Many who dared to question his dastardly acts were promptly eliminated by Shekau. Some of his commanders like Aliyu and our Chief Mechanic, known as "Paper," were killed for begging Shekau to provide food to mothers and their children at the time our camp in Abiso ran out of food. When Shekau was told to help them, he said he did not come to Sambisa to feed the "Children of Handak." He said if 100,000 of them die everyday, that's none of his business. "At some point, women became beggars; to feed their children in Sambisa, while at least 13 children died of malnutrition and other hardship meted on them by Shekau. This is the reason why Mamman Nur, Albarnawi, Man Chari, Abbor Minok and Abba Albarnawi, including myself, deserted him and formed our factional groups. Mamman Nur moved to the shores of Chad while Albarnawi and Abbah (Last born of Muhammad Yusuf) remained at the shores of Magumeri. "All of us, as at then, were all hunting to kill Shekau, just like the Nigerian military because of the atrocities he committed under our name. We had fought nine times with him and killed many of his men. "Shekau must know that all those women he is sending with Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs), in places of worship, markets and schools are our sisters and mothers and they don't deserve to die. "He must know that, one day, he would be called to account for all the atrocities he has committed in the name of Islam. There is no compulsion in religion. Indeed, God has really allowed the truth to prevail over falsehood. "There is no verse of the Holy Qur'an that permits Muslims to kill anybody.God will punish even those who feel happy while we are killed not to talk of killing innocent souls. So, you cannot kill anyone who doesn't believe in your faith or practice. "Arrogantly, Shekau declared a whole country and people living in it as infidels and ordered that everyone living in that city, and not Sambisa, must be killed. Islam can never be synonymous with senseless killings." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

I thought I was 74 but I was told I was 75. "I have never been so sick, not even during the 30-month civil war that I was stumbling under farm of yams or cassava. "But this sickness…I don't know, but I came out better. All those who saw me before said I look much better when I came back. "But I have explained it to the public that as a General, I used to give orders. But now, I take orders. The doctors told me to feed my stomach and sleep for longer hours. Buhari says 2017 most difficult year for Nigeria Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:21 PM PST President Muhammadu Buhari has said that 2017 had been a very tough year for Nigeria, but expressed optimism that 2018 will be a more prosperous one. The president stated this when he received a delegation of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) residents who paid him Christmas homage in the Presidential Villa, Abuja. He, however, noted with delight that God had answered the prayers of Nigerians as the rainy season was good and farmers recorded bumper harvest across the country. "It has been a tough year for Nigeria and I hope next year will be a much more prosperous one. "But God listened to the majority of us, the rainy season was very good and some states have got very good information from home; I never knew that the people from Kano who are more resourceful used to go to my area and hire farms, this year nobody hired farm, and nobody regretted it. "And again the second one from the Gov. of Sokoto State said all the people that really registered early to perform last pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia were farmers. But he didn't tell me if they took additional wives. "But I am very pleased that people have gone back to the land with very good harvests,'' he said. Buhari used the opportunity to commend religious leaders for partnering with government in ensuring peaceful co-existence among the diverse ethno-religious groups in the country. He stated that reports reaching him from security organisations across the country indicated that the religious leaders had been assisting the security agents in the maintenance of peace and tranquility in the society. "I thank you very much for coming, especially the religious leaders. "I am very pleased you are doing your best from the intelligence I am getting to make sure that people live as good neighbours and good Nigerians,'' said the president. Buhari, who also spoke on his recent miraculous medical recovery, said his absolute adherence to doctors' instruction and orders was responsible for his improved health conditions. He said: "It has been a tumultuous year. I thought I was 74 but I was told I was 75 I have never been so sick even the 30 months civil war (when) I was stumbling under farm of yams or cassava but this sickness I don't know but I came out better. BEWARE! Artificially Ripen Fruits Can Cause Cancer Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:21 PM PST Dr Mustapha Bature, Clinical Mentor, Kebbi State Primary Health Care Development Agency, has warned that consumption of fruits such as mango, banana, pawpaw and plantain, artificially ripen by Calcium Carbide could cause cancer. Bature made this known in an interview with NAN on Monday in Abuja. According to Wikipedia, Calcium carbide is a chemical compound with the chemical formula of CaC₂. Its main use industrially is in the production of acetylene and calcium cyanamide. However, the chemical is being used to ripen fruits by some fruit vendors in Nigeria. The medical expert warned that the fruits artificially ripened with calcium carbide are not good for consumption because such chemicals used in ripening the fruits contain radio-active elements. According to Bature, people who are exposed to Silicon Carbide are likely to come up with lungs cancer. He said a research was also conducted in a factory where workers are exposed to Silicon Carbide; the findings revealed that such workers come-up with lungs cancer after prolong exposure. He said prolong exposure to both silicon and calcium carbide causes cancer. Bature advised that fruits exposed to such chemicals should be washed with running water for about two to five minutes before consumption. He added that fruits such as mongo should be peel after washing before consumption. Bature said government should design a national policy to stop artificial ripening of fruits and implement such policy when enacted properly. Besides, he urged the National Orientation Agency and other key stakeholders to sensitise the public on the best ways to identify such fruits and health implications of consuming such fruits. "We need a cancer free society; therefore, continued consumption of such fruit will make the prevalence of cancer in the society to be high. "The little exposure to cancer from carbide may not allow Nigeria to have a cancer free society in a near future. "It is important for the government to look into the artificial ripening of fruits and ensure that such practice is put under control," said the expert. He also advised local government council health officials to ensure that the fruits being sold are not ripen artificially to enable Nigeria have a cancer free society. Meanwhile, a fruits dealer at the Zuba Fruits Market near Abuja, Malam Tanimu Abdullahi, told NAN that pawpaw, mango, plantain and banana are mostly artificially ripen using the chemical. Abdullahi, who claimed ignorance of the health implications of consuming such fruits artificially ripen, added that artificially ripen fruits could be identified by consumers through black spots on the back of such fruits. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
5 Things To Avoid To Help Your Dry Skin Posted: 25 Dec 2017 09:36 PM PST Dry skin can be itchy and uncomfortable. It can lead to a host of other problems, from eczema to cracks and wrinkles. Whatever the reason for the dry skin – it could be hereditary or it could be caused by the cold weather – there are certain you should not do if you have a dry skin. Here are some of them. Take hot, long showers Hot water dries out the natural oils that moisturize the skin. In order to avoid over-drying the skin, taking a warm shower rather than a hot one and not remaining in the shower for long periods of time can help reduce dry skin. Use products with high alcohol content A small amount of alcohol in your products isn't always a bad thing. However, if a product has high amounts of alcohol, it is very likely that it will dry out your skin. The takeaway here is to make sure to always research the ingredients before buying a new product. Excessive washing and hard scrubbing Washing too often with soap is a sure-fire way to get a chronically dry skin. Dry, irritated skin is much more susceptible to bacterial infection because excessive washing removes the protective layer of your skin. Use harsh facial cleansers It is important for people with dry skin to avoid using harsh cleansers. There are lots of gentle cleansers out there and some of them are even hydrating. Ignore Symptoms Sometimes, dry skin is an indication of a serious condition that requires treatment from a Doctor. Dry skin may be a sign of diabetes and thyroid conditions. Seeking out treatment when dry skin is persistent is important. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Man kidnaps ex-girlfriend to brainwash her into being his wife | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:57 AM PST A Texas man is facing life behind bars for kidnapping his ex-girlfriend with the hopes of brainwashing her into being his wife. Jack William Morgan was found guilty Tuesday of kidnapping and conspiracy to commit kidnapping and is slated to be sentenced in March, the Dallas Morning News reported. Authorities in January arrested the 32-year-old after finding a woman wearing only underwear chained in the back of his van. They were tipped off by a witness earlier in the day, who had seen the 28-year-old victim being dragged out of her Las Vegas apartment. The witness was also able to give a description of the van, which authorities found just outside Santa Fe the same night, according to the newspaper. Morgan and his victim — who he dated during and after college — met up for coffee about a week before the kidnapping. She told police her ex-boyfriend wrapped her neck and face in duct tape and attempted to hogtie her before knocking her unconscious and dragging her from her home. She said Morgan told her he intended to take her to cave, where he would chain her to an anchor and "brainwash" her into being "his wife," according to court documents. Samuel Brown, 19, was in the passenger seat of the van when Morgan was arrested and was also hit with a federal kidnapping charge. In November, he pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and is awaiting sentencing. Morgan told the woman he'd been planning the attack with Brown for more than a year and that he used fake social media accounts to stalk here. He was unable to find her address, so he began knocking on doors in the area under the guise of collecting donations for the church. culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |

20 family members in fatal crash on way to Christmas Day mass | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:47 AM PST Twenty members of the same extended family were killed today in a head-on bus collision while travelling to Christmas Day mass. The tragedy occurred in the northern Philippines, police said. A small bus taking the group to a dawn church service crashed into a larger bus in the town of Agoo killing the 20 on board, including six children, police said. The nine other occupants of the small bus were injured, as were 17 travelling on the bigger bus, according to an updated tally released by regional police. "They (the family) were trying to catch a mass in Manaoag," Agoo police officer Vanessa Abubo told AFP, referring to a northern Philippine town near Agoo with a famous Catholic church. The centuries-old Our Lady of Manaoag church is a popular pilgrimage site in the mainly Catholic nation, featuring an icon of the Virgin Mary which the faithful say performs miracles. Agoo police chief Roy Villanueva told Manila radio station DZMM by telephone that the smaller vehicle had left its lane to overtake a third vehicle. Authorities are investigating whether the driver, who Abubo said was among those killed, had fallen asleep or was under the influence, Villanueva added. AFP culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |

4-month-old baby girl dragged out of bed and attacked by raccoon | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:47 AM PST A 4-month-old baby girl was left with horrific gashes across her face after she was attacked by a raccoon inside her mother's home. Ashley Rodgers told CBS Philly that she was in the bathroom of her first floor apartment with her 6-year-old son Wednesday evening when she heard her daughter screaming and crying. The baby, who was in a bedroom, had been put down for bed. Rodgers said when she got into the room her daughter, Journi Black, was on the floor covered in blood. "I went to take my son to the bathroom. We heard a sound upstairs and we see a raccoon run down the steps," she said. "When I finally got to her, she was laying on the floor so it had dragged her off the bed, across the room, and she was bleeding and crying and her whole face was red."According to CBS, Rodgers had moved into the home a few days before the attack. The landlord reportedly rents out rooms in the house. Journi was rushed to St. Christopher's Hospital where she received 64 stitches during surgery. The infant also had to get a rabies shot and is said to be in fair condition. Rodgers said she won't be returning to the home and plans to take legal action. And now, a GoFundMe page set up to help the family of 4-month old Journi Black has netted nearly $15,000 in just two days — crushing the original fundraising goal of $2,000,aimed at assisting Journi's family in finding a home to rent. culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |

Cultists disrupt Christmas celebrations in FCT | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 25 Dec 2017 10:07 AM PST Christmas celebrations were on Monday disrupted by some suspected cultists in Bwari, headquarters of the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports. NAN learnt that the crisis broke out in the early hours of the morning when some suspected groups of cultists stormed the centre of the town, forming barricades and burning car tires at major junctions, depriving commuters and motorists access to the roads. Consequently, Christian worshipers who were holding Church services were seen running in different directions for safety. A source at the Emir of Bwari's place, told NAN that the crisis erupted because a member of the groups was allegedly murdered on Sunday, leading to a protest by the others. An eye witness, Mr Kunle Joshua, said the mob moved from the market side of the town towards the Emir's palace, while setting few shops on fire. NAN, however, reports that officers of the Nigerian Police Force and the military controlled the situation while residents remained indoors but some members regrouped on the road, forcing motorists to divert or return abruptly. Many of the Abuja-bound motorists, who fled the scene, diverted their movements through Sabon-Wuse, near Suleja in Niger. Spokesman of the Police Command in the FCT, DSP Anjuguri Manzah, confirmed to NAN that there was a protest in the town but its cause and those behind it were being investigated. He said the DPO and the Area Command Headquarters on ground had brought the situation under control. Manzah denied knowledge of any death in the incident. culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |
Fuel Scarcity: 13 Vessels With 650M Litres Begin Discharge Posted: 25 Dec 2017 08:06 AM PST The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has expressed empathy and strong solidarity with Nigerians over the lingering challenge in accessing petroleum products across the country just as it reeled out multiple measures to end the unfortunate situation before the end of the year. Group Managing Director of the Corporation, Dr. Maikanti Baru, told journalists at a media briefing and follow-up tour of some fuel stations in Abuja on Sunday that measures were already in place to bolster the current fuel supply and eliminate the extraneous factors that have led to the persistent petrol queues. He said within the last two weeks the national truck out capacity had been jerked up to an average of 1,500 trucks, translating to 52 million litres per day which is much higher than the normal consumption of 850 trucks per day across the various depots in the country. Also the Corporation has emplaced a 24-hour loading and sales operations in all depots and NNPC Mega Stations across the country while marketers have been instructed to do same. To ensure effective products penetration across the length and breadth of the country, Dr. Baru explained that the Corporation had activated the Fuel War Room comprising of team members from the NNPC, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), and Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF), with support from the security agencies. He said while the NNPC would naturally focus on increasing the volume of products on offer, the DPR, PEF and PPRA have scaled-up monitoring activities to ensure seamless loading and dispensing of fuel nationwide and to specifically ensure deliveries to designated stations and sales at the approved retail price of N145/litre. Dr. Baru emphasized that though the official landing cost of petrol as at the moment stood at N171.40k per litre, the official government approved pump price of N145 per litre remains intact. On the volume of products available for supply, the NNPC GMD informed that 13 vessels laden with over 650 million litres of products were currently discharging their contents at the sea port while additional vessels have being lined up to berth early January 2018. He said 814 million litres of petrol were currently being injected into the system to guarantee nationwide elimination of fuel queues before the end of the year. Representatives of DPR, PEF and PPPRA at the conference registered their agencies' resolve to work with the NNPC to restore sanity in the supply and distribution of petroleum products. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
