My Drug Costs N1.7m A Pack – Ailing Actor Sadiq Daba Posted: 14 Sep 2017 03:45 AM PDT Never take good health for granted, some people are going through a lot just to be alive. Popular actor and seasoned broadcaster, Sadiq Daba, is down with leukaemia. Unknown to many of his fans and admirers, the actor, whose role in Kunle Afolayan's award-winning film, 'October 1', attracted a lot of attention awhile ago, practically lives on a drug called Gleevec, used for the treatment of the disease. Although he gets supplies of the drug free-of-charge from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, courtesy of a donor agency based in the United States, it is very expensive off the counter and can only be obtained from the institution. "To get the drug at OAU, you have to go through a process of evaluation. Then you are recommended to the foundation that supplies the drug. But, if you are going to buy it off the counter, a pack of it will cost you about N1.7m. And this will last for three months," he told Punch in his Lagos residence. Daba's battle with leukaemia started toward the end of 2015. The disease caught him unawares. At first, he had thought that he was having the first symptoms of a minor ailment. "I thought I had malaria fever. So I went to a hospital in Abuja for a test. After a series of tests, the doctor was shocked. He told me that what I had was beyond them at the hospital. He advised me to seek help from a tertiary institution. Tertiary institution, in this case, simply refers to a university teaching hospital. That was in 2015. "Then I went to the Dermatology Unit of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital and it was confirmed that I had leukaemia. Fortunately, the disease was not overblown yet. It was still at the early and manageable stage. I was placed on drugs," he recounted. But, midway into the treatment of the ailment in 2016, Daba had a relapse and he was hospitalised for about three months. "I was rushed from my residence to the Lagos State Emergency Unit. Again, I was fortunate to encounter a group of dedicated and courteous medical staff there who took great care of me. I was placed under observation for 48 hours and, thereafter, they wheeled me to the General Hospital where I was admitted," he said. He recalled that during his stay at the hospital, which lasted two months, the chief medical director of LASUTH came on a ward visit and recognised him as he lay on his sickbed. "It was nice that he visited the ward at that point because my bill was almost over N1m. The good doctor went on to slash the entire bill by 50 per cent. I will never forget that," he said. After leaving the hospital, Daba started attending a dermatology clinic where he met one Dr. Balogun, a consultant on dermatology, whom he described as a "fantastic person". Although the doctor placed him on a regular diet of drugs, it failed to solve his problem. Eventually she advised him to go to the "only medical centre in Nigeria where leukaemia patients are treated and the right drugs are available" for the treatment of the ailment. That centre is at the OAU, Ile-Ife. "She gave me a referral letter. But I was scared because there was a proviso that I might undergo a bone-marrow surgery. For the first two months, I could not go to the university simply because I was trying to avoid the surgery," he said. While he struggled to overcome his fright, the broadcaster had another relapse. This time, he was warned that he needed to go for proper medical treatment at OAU. Somehow, when he got there the doctors had to skip the bone-marrow operation and he was placed on drugs. Daba was full of praises for the team at the Department of Dermatology, headed by Prof. Mohiz Durosinmi, that handled his case. "Prof. Durosinmi's team was absolutely fantastic. Otherwise, I would have been dead," he said. The doctors also warned him not to skip the drugs even for one day. Wondering what would have been the situation in the absence of such collaboration between the foundation and the institution's dermatology department, he said, "If the Max Foundation had not been doing this and as a patient, you were to spend money for treatment, you would be dead." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Charms Operation: Man sells his house, cars to raise N25m to cure headache Posted: 14 Sep 2017 03:15 AM PDT Anyone can fall for this charmers, always be on your guard. A businessman, Oladimeji Isiaka, has gone bankrupt after losing about N25m to suspected fraudsters who defrauded him under the pretext of curing his "headache". Isiaka, who lived in the Sango Ota, Ogun State, sold his house and five cars to raise the money. However, after realising that he had been defrauded, he reportedly petitioned the Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos. According to Punch, investigations by operatives of the command led to the arrest of five members of the syndicate at their base in Ibadan, Oyo State. They are Alasela Ottun; Yetunde Mustapha, aka Iya Aje Funfun; Ibrahim Jimoh, aka Olobe Aye; Akeem Alabi and Oyegbile Lateef. A police source said Isiaka was an in-law of Ottun and had sought his counsel sometime in October 2016 when he had the headache, which defied medications. The source explained that 45-year-old Ottun, after defrauding the victim of a few millions of naira, passed him to Mustapha, who pretended to be a white witch with answers to all his problems. Mustapha, 32, was said to have colluded with her boyfriend, Jimoh, who arranged a scheme through which millions of naira were collected from the victim. The source said, "The man was into oil business. He called Alasela (Ottun), for help. The in-law called Yetunde (Mustapha) to pray for him. From there, she passed information about his case to her boyfriend and they started demanding money from him to cure his headache, which they said was a spiritual attack. "They eventually collected N25m from him. The man sold all his property, including five vehicles and a building. He also lost his business and became bankrupt. When they knew that the game was up, they threatened to kill him if he told anyone. The man wrote a petition, which the police followed up, and they were arrested." Ottun, an indigene of Iwo, Osun State, said he collected only N180,000 from Isiaka, adding that he called Mustapha to pray for him on the telephone without knowing that she had stored his number for ulterior motives. He said, "The man is my wife's brother. He knew I was into herbal medicine and he called me for solution to his headache. I did some medicine for him, which didn't work, so I called Yetunde (Mustapha) to pray for him on the telephone. "I never knew she had stored his number. I suspected something was wrong after I didn't hear from my in-law for about three months. I also went to Yetunde's house, but she had packed out. I never knew she had given the number to her boyfriend and they had been collecting money from him." Mustapaha said she pretended to be a white witch whenever she spoke with Isiaka, adding that she wore white costume at Ottun's shrine. She said, "Alasela (Ottun) and I had been defrauding the man for some time. He was the one that asked me to store the man's number on my phone. "Soon, I met Jimoh and we fell in love. He took me to his shrine and said he was an herbalist. I told him about the man and I gave him his number. I don't know how they took the money from him. But they gave me N50,000." Jimoh, an indigene of Ibadan, Oyo State, said he had an agreement with Mustapha to share the money realised from the victim, adding that he collected N8m from Isiaka. He said, "When I met her, I told her that I was an herbalist and she told me about the deal. I asked her to give me the job, promising to share the money with her. She assured me that there would be no problem because the man was Alasela's in-law. "We asked him what he wanted and he said he needed money to start his own company. We promised to help him and he paid us N8m. The money was for him to be rich." The chief herbalist, Alabi, 39, said his duty whenever the gang brought a job was to prosecute it. He said, "I am the chief herbalist. Whenever they bring a job, I prosecute it. It is whatever the people seek that we use to defraud them. Some talk about business boom, some about making money or moving to a higher level in life. We make some fake concoctions and collect their money." Lateef explained that Isiaka had been cured of the headache, but he craved wealth, adding that it was his greed that the gang exploited. The 27-year-old Ikirun, Osun State indigene, explained that the victim was shown a sack filled with fake dollars, adding that he was asked to bring N8m for the preparation of rituals that would enable him to spend the money. Lateef said he was paid N900,000 from the money. He said, "I always stood outside as the Ifa errand boy. The man said we should help him to become rich and we showed him fake dollars in a sack. He first brought N5m and later added N3m. He was not allowed to touch the money. Whoever is looking for cheap things will run into heavy losses. He thought we cured him of his headache, not knowing it was God. We just took advantage of that to defraud him." The Zone 2 Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the suspects would be arraigned at the end of investigations. "We recovered charms, fake currencies and fetish objects from their shrines. The Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Adamu Ibrahim, has ordered that they should be arraigned in court," she said. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
More troubles: Labour threatens indefinite strike from Friday Posted: 14 Sep 2017 03:15 AM PDT The United Labour Congress has threatened that workers in Nigeria would embark on an indefinite strike if the Federal Government failed to meet its demands by Friday (tomorrow). The threat came barely two weeks after the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment responded to the workers through a letter, which the ULC said "largely failed to adequately address the critical issues raised in our demands." The union issued the strike threat after an emergency meeting of its National Administrative Committee, which was held jointly with the National Strike Committee in Lagos. In a statement signed by the ULC President, Joe Ajaero, the union urged Nigerians to take precaution and stock up necessities, saying, "The strike will be very effective as we hope to cripple all modes of transportation within the nation; ensure a total blackout nationwide; cut off petroleum product supplies; and disrupt banking operations, which will make life a bit more difficult for Nigerians. "We regret these consequences on all of us, but we hope that these measures will help us create a nation that is better governed for the benefits of Nigerian workers and Nigerian masses." Ajaero said that the strike had become necessary having earlier issued a 14-day ultimatum to the FG as a result of the decision of the Central Working Committee meeting of the congress on August 22, which expired on September 8, 2017. He said that in view of the government's rejection of the demands within the 14-day ultimatum, the ULC ordered an immediate issuance of a 7-day final strike notice, which would expire on Friday. He added, "This course of action, though very painful to us at this time, is the only alternative available to us as we have exhausted all known peaceful processes towards an amicable resolution of the dispute. "We, therefore, call on all genuine patriots to join hands in solidarity with us to urge the Federal Government and state governors to be kind enough to meet the demands of Nigerian workers and masses." The Demands The demands of the union include the immediate payment of all arrears of salaries owed workers at all levels of government without exception. Ajaero added that other demands were that "the Federal Government honours its 2009 agreement with university lecturers under the umbrella of ASUU quickly and commences negotiations with them on new issues so that our universities will re-open. "The roads leading to all the petroleum refineries and depots nationwide be repaired by government to avoid the present carnage, wastage of products and properties on these roads. "That the government should demand that the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment set up a task force immediately to carry out factory inspections as most of our factories are death traps." The workers are also demanding an immediate review of the privatisation of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria, among others. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Nnamdi Kanu plotting to overthrow Buhari, split Nigeria –Arewa youths | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 14 Sep 2017 03:10 AM PDT The Arewa youths, yesterday, accused Nnamdi Kanu and his group of plotting a violent overthrow of the government of Muhammadu Buhari and to weaken the North. Although the youths did not provide evidence, the allegations were contained in a statement signed by spokesman of the Coalition of Northern Groups, CNG, Mr. Abdul-Azeez Suleiman. According to Vanguard, the CNG noted the turmoil occasioned by incessant violent agitations since President Buhari assumed power in 2015, were aimed at making the country ungovernable and effecting a change of government by "whatever means and tactics." The CNG also claimed that the attacks on Buhari and his government was part of a larger plot to cause an inter-regional crisis that could lead to general unrest. The CNG said: "The resurgence of separatist agitations, especially the violent brand by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its ilk in the South-East, represent a much wider conspiracy to divide Nigeria along ethnic and religious fault lines as well as achieve the balkanization of the North. "The current IPOB brand of agitation is a strategy employed to achieve the results that the coupists of the First Republic failed to realize, namely, increase the weight and relevance of the regions to the detriment and expense of the central government. "The agitations for separation and the cry for Biafra would become louder and the agitators, supported by their politicians, would become emboldened to act in more radical and violent manner thereby sparking retaliation in the North with subsequent attacks to be perpetrated against Northerners in the South-East. "In the event of such, the North would then be held up as the real culprit and the cause of the break-up of Nigeria," CNG warned. But the group said it would not be provoked to retaliate against the antics of IPOB and its leader. Rather than join issues with IPOB, the coalition of youths plans to report the atrocities of the South East separatist group to the United Nations and the International Criminal Court to take necessary steps to deal with the pro-separatists. culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |

DSP Victor Isuku, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), said in a statement issued in Maiduguri that the insurgents unconditionally surrendered to men of the command. "The counter terrorism effort of the Nigerian military, code named 'Operation Safe Corridor' recorded another victory with the unconditional surrender to the police by high profile repentant Boko Haram terrorists. On September 10, at about 21: 00 hours, the intelligence arm of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the command, were able to negotiate a peaceful surrender of repentant Boko Haram terrorists with their families." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Resident Doctors Suspend Strike Posted: 14 Sep 2017 02:45 AM PDT Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has suspended its 10-day-old strike for two weeks to monitor the level of federal government's compliance with the agreement reached. The two weeks period is to afford the doctors enough time to further discuss with federal government to arrive at final solutions to the contentious issues. The doctors would, however, resume the strike if the discussion with the government fails. The national executive council of NARD took the decision at its meeting in Abuja on Wednesday night to appraise the implementation of its agreement with the government. The chairman of NARD UCH chapter, Segun Olaopa, said "the decision was reached following appeals from the public that the doctors should give the federal government more time to meet their demands". Doctors had appealed to Nigerians to bear the situation as members of the association were pressing government to improve the healthcare delivery system in the country. NARD embarked on a nationwide indefinite strike to press home a six-point demand. The association had on September 6 laid out terms of settlement with the federal government after the two parties met to resolve the crisis. The doctors are protesting sack of some of their colleagues, non-payment of "skipping'' entitlement, non-inclusion in the IPPIS platform and non-payment of their salary arrears. The federal government had agreed it will pay the arrears and commence the inclusion of NARD members on the IPPIS platform. We hope the federal government will keep to its promises this time. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Things I’ve Learned As A Pastor’s Wife That Will Help You Posted: 14 Sep 2017 01:55 AM PDT Being a pastor's wife has a remarkable way of showing you the truth about how and why people behave the way they do. It's like being an unpaid therapist. After enough repetition of the same problems, you begin to understand the frailties of human nature. You also start figuring out yourself. It turns out, people aren't unlucky. We're just sinners, and we all swallow the same deceptions and do the same stupid stuff. The responsibility of knowing (and not talking about or being able to control) other people's sins and consequences can be weighty and stressful. But catching a glimpse of reality can make you wiser and more intuitive... If nothing else, my life as a pastor's wife has shown me that people are people. It doesn't matter how much money they have, or if they're married, or if they love God. Every person makes the same kinds of mistakes and feels pretty much the same inner turmoil as every other person. This is the wisdom I've gleaned from serving people with messy, fairly normal lives: 1. Living for approval imprisons you, but living for a purpose liberates you. It's easy for everyone — introvert or extrovert — to live for approval and praise. We all naturally focus on what we wear, what we do, and/or what people think of us. Approval, however, is a bottomless pit of disappointment. Living for other people's praise and respect will ruin your life, because complete love and approval can't be attained outside of God's forgiveness. "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15) 2. Intimate friendships demand an investment of time, energy, forgiveness, and sacrifice. Church is a great place to build and nurture friendships, but it's also an easy place for disappointment and superficiality. We all tend to hide our personal and spiritual problems from other people because we don't want to be hurt or embarrassed. Please realize that you will never achieve intimate friendships without risk. Bearing each other's burdens (which requires transparency) and praying for one another (which requires humility) is what forges deep bonds of friendship. "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love." (Ephesians 4:2) 3. Many of our life experiences seem unjust and unfair. While it's easy to believe we've been cheated of the life God owes us, we must remember that God is infallible and holy. He is not unfair or unloving; God just operates with different purposes than us and on a different schedule. He will reconcile the world's injustices according to His plan. "Those who plant injustice will harvest disaster, and their reign of terror will come to an end." (Proverbs 22:8) 4. Everyone is looking for love. All of us are wired for connection to God and each other. We want love, acceptance, respect, and relationship. When people are unloving, try to remember that every person in the world is on a quest for significance, but most people don't realize that fulfillment and significance only happen only through Christ. And if you're the one looking for love, start with the Person who will love unconditionally. "You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind.' And, 'Love your neighbor as yourself'." (Luke 10:27) 5. No one has a perfect life; as convincing as Facebook is, appearance is not reality. Our culture is wired for presentation. We are all accustomed to believing what we see and presenting what we want people to believe. Because we crave the ideal, we ignore reality and spend a lifetime in vain pursuits to have more and be more. We waste precious time becoming friends with popular people and trying to create a perfect life. Instead, realize that God designed you uniquely for the life He wanted you to have. "Be perfect, therefore, as your Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:28) 6. Bitterness will poison your life. You might think that holding a grudge, hating someone, or refusing to forgive a wrong is a worthy punishment for someone who's mistreated you. But that's a lie. Bitterness eats away at the person who carries it. Your hating, refusing to forgive, and holding grudges might make the offending person feel bad, but these actions will wreak greater havoc in your life. Medical research also shows that bitterness negatively affects emotional and physical body function. "Another man dies in bitterness of soul, having never enjoyed anything good." (Job 21:25) 7. Grief is universal, and there are no shortcuts through it. Heartache must be handled with respect and support of others. Many people struggle with handling grief in an unhealthy manner, either hiding from community or busying themselves to forget. Before you judge someone for their behavior, consider whether they might be handling grief, however incorrectly, and give them grace. Your actions will give a mountain of comfort to their lives. "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4) 8. Anyone is capable of committing any sin, given the circumstances and desperation. As Christians, we often find ourselves appalled by other people's choices. Instead, we should feel love for them, while offering forgiveness and fellowship. If you live in a state of shock over other people's sins, a spiritual superiority complex will grow in you. And very often, you will commit the same sin at a later date. "If someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted." (Galatians 6:1) 9. Serving God is a heart decision, not a job. It doesn't require a title, a paycheck, affirmation, or celebrity status. It's a personal decision, rife with obstacles, temptations, and hard work, no matter who you are. You have to decide to follow Christ, and then you have to decide that many times a day for the rest of your life. You might assume that someone else is more qualified to serve at church, witness to your neighbor, or stand for a cause. But God commands and equips all believers — including you — to serve Him. "Whoever wants to be my disciple should deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." (Luke 9:23) 10. You're someone's hero. Everyone loves to immortalize people with amazing talents and leadership abilities. That's not the kind of influence God wants you to have. God has given you opportunities for influencing the people around you toward salvation and good works. You don't have to be perfect. In fact, being authentic in your struggle to grow in faith is the best example you can give others. Let people see that God is transforming you daily. That will inspire others to seek Him! "Don't let anyone look down on you... but set an example… in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." Speaking while appearing as a guest on The Other News, a satirical show hosted by Okey Bakassi on Channels, Monalisa, who said actresses don't talk about their s*xual harassment experiences over fear of stigmatization, noted that she's never been a victim. She said: "It's a bit uncomfortable for someone to come out and say I was cornered to sleep with a producer because of a role. "They keep quiet about it because of their careers. Apart from that, the society stigmatises these women. So you just swallow your pride. When you are outside the shores of Africa, women are heroes for coming out to speak about s*xual abuse, but not here." On issues of domestic violence, she said: "As much as I detest all forms of violence against women and men, women should quit provoking their man by beating punches and slaps. "I'm a domestic violence [enthusiast]. I always research when I hear fresh stories about domestic violence. Half the time, it is the women. "God just gave us this running Okra mouth. Adjust Your Business Model to Demand Fewer Needs If you can start your business as a sole employee please do so, pending when you are able to raise enough money to employ other professionals. Also, save the cost of getting and maintaining an office space by working from home, if having an office space is not vital to getting your business up and running. When you start getting some money, you can use the extra revenue to then grow and establish your business. Get Friends and Family to Help Tell your friends, family and even past colleagues about your business and get them to help spread word about your business; this can serve as free marketing and publicity for your business. Encourage as many of them as possible to share your posts about your business on their social media profiles, and to also introduce your brand to their professional contacts. This will help serve as a kind of grassroot marketing that will spread word about your company and introduce it to a larger audience. Avoid Unnecessary Expenses Considering you are trying to start a business without money, you need to be as frugal as possible. Leverage on your relationships with people and try to get as much as you can for free, at least until you are able to start making some extra revenue to afford better for your business. Please note that as frugal as you are going to need to be, you should be careful not to let that compromise the quality of your services. This is why you really need to leverage on your business and even personal relationships, so you can get the help and professional input of these people for free (at least until you are able to make enough extra revenue to pay for their services). Ensure Your Payment Policy is Well Thought Out This is the problem a lot of startups face; they don't have a good payment policy. As a result, people take advantage of this weakness to either delay payments or avoid paying for the services all together. Avoid basing your payment policy on what you think your customers want or will be comfortable with, base it on what is going to make your business operate successfully. This is because, after all said and done, it's not your payment policy that will keep people coming back for more, it's the quality of your service. Therefore, you should not compromise your service quality and business operation, for an unfavorable payment policy. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Why True Commitment Is Mandatory For Marriage Posted: 14 Sep 2017 12:15 AM PDT While there are many tools useful to sustaining your marriage, there is one tool you must have in your toolbox if you are going to be successful in your marriage: commitment. Of course, love, trust, compassion and grace are critical as well, but commitment is mandatory for a loving relationship. Why do I place such importance on commitment? The story of Jake and Lisa will illustrate the importance. I'll let Jake tell his own story. "Coming to The Marriage Recovery Center to work on my marriage was an important step, but not the most critical one. Certainly, taking time off, the travel, the preparation, the cost were all important factors. But the most important one happened in the middle of the second day." He paused and reflected. "When Lisa confronted me with some stuff I didn't want to hear, that was a turning point. Was she right and did I need to change? Was I going to be in this with her or turn away from her, rejecting what she had to say? If I pushed away, our marriage would be over at some point. I could embrace what she was telling me and see that she was for me and our marriage, or would I let pride stand in the way? Pride would leave me completely alone, still stuck in all the negative traits that I needed to work on. I chose to commit myself to her and work on our marriage together." I knew that every couple coming to see me had to make a similar decision — to protect themselves or risk being vulnerable and open themselves up to change. To choose to be in the process together, to grow together, to heal together. While I was happy that Jake took the path of humility, I'm also reminded of the couples who have let pride get in the way. I'm reminded of the man who left a Marriage Intensive prematurely because he had his feathers ruffled. His path led to a lack of commitment and ultimate divorce. Did he win? Of course not. There comes a time for all of us when we must choose to serve ourselves, (our shallow self) or serve others (for their best and ultimately our best as well.) This is usually a series of moments when we step back and decide if we are truly committed to the welfare of our marriage. If so, we will sacrifice momentary pleasures and self-protection for ultimate connection and commitment. "We're in this together and we will figure this out," is the motto of couples who are dedicated to their marriage. No issue is too large to overcome. No trouble will divide us. No problem is too great to separate us for any length of time. Here are some additional things to consider: First, making a commitment to our mate establishes our mindset. Attitudes are critical to our wellbeing. Whether we have an attitude of being an overcomer or one who succumbs to adversity, your attitude determines how you will fare when trouble arises. Scripture tells us that we will face adversity, but it can make us stronger and connect us to one another. Second, a mindset of commitment sets us on a path of healing and connection. Our mindset sets us on a particular path — one of connection and healing, or one of disconnection and conflict. Being connected on an agreed upon problem is powerful and enlivening. We gain strength and encouragement from each other. We can choose which path we will take. Choose wisely. Third, working together helps us overcome any obstacle. A task shared is an obstacle divided. Working together not only shrinks the obstacle, but binds us to each other. We are, quite literally, in this together and determined to find solutions. This is not only empowering but gives added impetus to solving the problem. We are made to work together and find strength from one another. Fourth, growing through adversity creates connection and intimacy. Teamwork connects us to one another. A shared goal facing a common "enemy" is powerful at binding us to each other. Ask anyone who has faced combat how important reliance on one another is to feeling safe and empowered. Consider the strength that comes from knowing you have someone looking out for you as you face a common problem. While you may be tempted to see your mate as the enemy, the one who not only will not protect you but the one causing your distress, choose to work together instead. Agree together on the shared goal, the shared path and the shared tasks for getting there. Finally, trusting God, and each other, in adversity cultivates confidence for later issues. God is your ultimate source of protection. Knowing that God wants good for you and wants you to be well is your ultimate source of strength. Consider His promises of protection when feeling discouraged and vulnerable. The prophet Amos says these words: "Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?"
