My Yahoo-Boy Boyfriend Tied Me Up & Escaped – rescued lady opens up Posted: 05 Oct 2017 04:18 AM PDT More revelations from the discovery of a hotel in Lagos where Petrol is siphoned from underground... A young lady picked up in one of the rooms in the hotel, 20yrs old Oluwaseun Oguntoyin, said she was brought to the hotel by her boyfriend, Bayo, who's an Internet fraudster, who, according to her, tied her up together with his friends when she was sleeping. They fled when security arrived. What did the Yahoo-boy boyfriend planned to do to her? She said it was the first time Bayo would take her to the hotel, adding that she knew nothing about the crimes being perpetrated there. She said: "It was the navy people that freed me from the bondage. My boyfriend Bayo and three of his friends tied me up. I didn't know when they tied me. "He told me he wanted to go and use the ATM and that he would be back. I didn't eat nor drink anything. I only slept. But when I woke up and wanted to open the door, I discovered that I was tied. "They also told the receptionist to not allow me run. I know them that my boyfriend usually came here but yesterday was the first time he brought me. I have known him for three years now." A tanker driver arrested in the hotel, Teller, claimed it was greed that lured him to the scene, adding that his friend, Muri White offered him N500,000 to use his truck to load siphoned petrol. He said he couldn't reject the offer, giving that marketers usually hired the truck for N150,000 and he had to stay in a long queue at the depot. The receptionist, Gladys, said she was hired a month ago, and the manager instructed her to never take money from Inspector Rabiu of room 208 and the other policeman who occupied room 209. She said the only suspicious thing she noticed was that Marijuana smoking men usually came to the premises for meetings. Most of the lodgers usually came in the night, adding that they came with jerry cans of petrol, which the security man at the hotel offloaded. She said Insp. Rabiu usually sat with the Marijuana smokers during their meetings but only drank. Oludara said when they complained to the manager about the strange and unacceptable behaviour of some of the guests, they were asked to mind their own business. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog
Exposed: Hotel Where Fuel is Siphoned From Underground in Lagos (Photos) Posted: 05 Oct 2017 03:48 AM PDT Operatives of the Nigerian Navy (NN) attached to the Operation Awatse busted a hotel in Lagos where Petrol is siphoned from the pipeline of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC). The operatives also arrested eight suspects including a Police Inspector at the premises of the hotel - Glonik Hotel at 31, Social Club Road, Abule Egba. Those arrested were Insp. Lukeman Rabiu of the Lagos Police Command X-Squad Unit, receptionist Gladys Daniel, waitress Rachael Oludara, housekeeper, Adegoke Adetunji, tanker driver, Waliu Teller, Oluwaseun Oguntoyin, Victor Vincent, 19, and Bobola Kuti, 28. Inspector Rabiu allegedly had N1.4 million, a laptop and other valuables in his car. Sources said some police officers were already lobbying for Inspector Rabiu's release. It was gathered that three 33,000-litre tankers were loaded overnight with two left. The third one, with registeration number EPE367XE was said to have developed technical problems and was abandoned at an improvised loading bay beside the hotel. When The Nation visited the area with the Navy, two other empty tankers were seen on the street. There were broken bottles, chattered windscreens, hoses and fuel-laden jerry cans inside the hotel. Also clips used to hold hoses on pumping machines were seen in Room 209, said to have been occupied by another fleeing policeman. It was learnt that the hotel belonged to one Bashorun, who comes to meet with the manager, Osipo Chris and some of the vandals. According to AWATSE's Maritime Component Commanding Officer, Commander Chris Akokota, the place was uncovered about 8am. He said: "At 8am this morning (Wednesday), we got some information from Toplink Security personnel that some criminals perpetrating illegal acts of siphoning PMS products through an NNPC pipeline outside the hotel. "Upon the information, we quickly deployed our men and when we got here, we realised that most of the top management staff had escaped through the back gate. "The junior staff and a policeman, who had stayed here in the past six months, were arrested. We tried to investigate the situation and observed all. When we got here, we noticed the smashed screens and broken bottles. Apparently, there might have been a fight before our arrival. "We discovered that a fully loaded tanker, which still had the hose on it was parked beside the hotel. It seems the tanker developed fault. We learnt that two others had left and they were waiting for the third one to go so that others can be loaded. "We also saw about 16 jerry cans filled with PMS with six empty ones and they were all embedded in the vehicles parked in the hotel." However, Inspector Rabiu denied being a member of the gang, insisting that he only lodged at the hotel to meet up with his bi-weekly unit meetings. He could however not explain why he chose that hotel, which was obviously off his route and several kilometres away from his office. Inspector Rabiu also said he never noticed anything strange in the hotel and was not aware fuel theft was going on there. He said: "I do not know anything about it. It is not like I stay here permanently. I stay in Ogun State but in order to meet up with our meetings, I lodge here on the days we have meeting and I pay directly to the manager. I never noticed anything strange. I did not survey the environment. I have known this place for about five years and I just come here." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog

Inspector General of Police under probe over alleged s*xual misconduct Posted: 05 Oct 2017 03:48 AM PDT The war of words between Senator Isa Hamma Misau (Bauchi Central) and Inspector General of Police Ibrahim Idris deepened on Wednesday, with the Senate opening a probe into the senator's allegations against the number one police boss. The senate constituted a special panel to investigate the police boss for alleged misappropriation of funds, illegal promotion and posting of senior officers and bribery. The Senator also brought up an allegation of infidelity against him. The panel is also empowered to investigate claims that the IG put an officer in the family way and secretly wedded her in Kaduna. Senate President Bukola Saraki named Senate Deputy Chief Whip Francis Alimikhena (Edo North) as the chairman of the special panel. Other members are: Senators Nelson Effiong, Binta Garba, Obinna Ogba, Faseyi Duro, Abdulaziz Nyako and Suleiman Hukunyi. The special panel is to probe the corruption allegation against the police boss. The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions is to investigate claims of professional misconduct made by Misau against the IGP. The committee is to submit its findings and report in two weeks. Saraki said: "We have listened to our colleague and we cannot ignore the allegations. We have a duty to fight corruption. These matters are weighty and we have to investigate the allegations. We will set up an ad-hoc committee to investigate these allegations and report back to the Senate "The ad-hoc committee we will set up will deal with all the allegations about misappropriation of funds made against the IGP. We will refer the other issues about personal misconduct against the IGP to the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions to for investigations. " The row between Misau, a former police officer and the IGP blew open in August, when he claimed, in an interview, that police officers paid bribes to get favourable postings and promotions. The police had dismissed the Senator's claim as the ranting of a disgruntled deserter. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog

Patience Jonathan's Probe: Reps’ Orders Magu’s Arrest For Shunning Summons Posted: 05 Oct 2017 03:18 AM PDT The House of Reps Committee on Public Petitions on Wednesday ordered an arrest warrant against the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu. He is to be brought before the committee on November 7 to answer questions in connection with a petition the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience, sent to the House. She had petitioned the House, alleging harassment of her person and firms linked to her associates by the EFCC, the Federal Inland Revenue Service and the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency. She also told the House that her personal bank accounts and those of the firms had been frozen. However, the panel, which is chaired by a member from Abia State, Mr. Uzoma Nkem-Abonta, said on Wednesday that Magu had shunned "several invitations" to appear in connection with the matter. The NDLEA and FIRS had been appearing before the panel to respond to the petition. The matter had earlier been adjourned till Wednesday (yesterday), but again, Magu did not turn up and the EFCC sent no representations to the session. After a motion on arrest warrant moved by Chairman, House Committee on Public Accounts, Kingsley Chinda, the panel passed a resolution for Magu's arrest. Ruling, Nkem-Abonta stated, "The absence of the EFCC is making our work difficult. We are not against the EFCC doing its work but they have to comply with the law. With no counter motion, the motion on arrest warrant is hereby sustained." The committee also ordered all the companies linked to Jonathan's wife to submit their statements of audited accounts to the FIRS within two weeks. The panel explained that this was to afford the FIRS the opportunity to assess them for tax payment and ascertain the level of tax compliance since they started operations. FIRS had in a submission to the committee, stated that the reason it kept watch over the activities of the companies was to verify their tax compliance. On its part, FIRS was directed to conclude the verification within two weeks from the date of receiving the audited accounts from the companies and produce a report. The committee had also summoned eight banks over the freezing of the accounts of Patience and her companies by the EFCC. The committee clarified that it directive to "unfreeze" Patience's accounts was strictly for those accounts that were not backed by a court order or a written instruction from the EFCC. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog

Madam maltreated me after her husband has r*ped me — 10-year-old housemaid Posted: 05 Oct 2017 02:18 AM PDT Why are some people like this? Sigh! A couple, Okechukwu Onubogu and wife, Gloria, who allegedly defiled and assaulted their 10-year-old house help, were on Wednesday brought before a Surulere Chief Magistrates' Court in Lagos. The accused – Onubogu, 54 and Gloria, 45 – pleaded not guilty to the the six-count bordering on defilement, assault, inhuman treatment, indecent treatment, and unlawful s*xual intercourse brought against them. The couple, who reside at No. 119, Lawanson Road, Itire, Lagos, were released on a N400,000 bail. The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Anthonia Osayande, said Onubogu committed the offence of defilement sometime in April in the night, while his wife committed the offence of inhuman treatment of the housemaid between April and September 2 at their residence. Sgt. Osayande alleged that the husband had s*xual inter-course with the 10-year-old housekeeper and also caused her bodily harm. "The woman, on her part, had beaten the girl, causing her grievous harm and also failed to supply her the basic necessities of life. She started maltreating her since she got to know that her husband had defiled me," she told the court. The offences contravened sections 137, 173, 245, 247 and 261 of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2015. According to NAN, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. A. Ipaye-Nwachukwu, however, granted the man bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum; and also granted the wife N200,000 bail on self-recognition since she is nursing a seven-month-old baby. Ipaye said one of the sureties must be a community leader or a cleric in Lagos, while the other must be a civil servant on Grade Level 14. In addition, the sureties must provide evidence of tax payment to Lagos State Government. The magistrate ordered that the 10-year-old girl be taken to the hospital for treatment and thereafter kept at Correctional Centre for Girls in Lagos, pending her reunion with her family members. The court adjourned the case till November 11 pending advice from Director of Public Prosecutions. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog

According to her: A Nigerian mum has taken to Facebook to call out her estranged husbad over domestic violence claims, warning other women inn the process. According to the lady identified as Lynda Onwunali: This brainless glutton, parasite, failure, manipulator, deceiver and liar Okpoebo Chidozie who graduated with an ordinary pass from FUTO is suffering from a mental disorder called Narcissism and ASPD. He beats me at every opportunity including when I'm pregnant and breastfeeding. Lying against you right in your presence comes so easily to him, he is the most ungrateful person I've met. He expects me to feed him, pay house rent for him (in fact I'm sure the land Lord will be on his way soon to throw his things out because rent has expired and dude can't renew because he's expecting me to bring money ), he also expects me to buy land with my own money and use his name to do the papers or put his name as my next of kin, yet has never invested N1 on me before. Ladies beware, once you're working and come from a rich home,he'll go the extra mile to force himself into your life and once u let him in and fail to fulfil all his expectations, he can stab you to death. He has attempted to take my life twice and has just stabbed my cousin with bottle this night. He has even made an attempt on his own life right before my eyes that I had to run out of the house. Should Single Men be Intimidated by Successful Single Women? Posted: 05 Oct 2017 01:18 AM PDT He said, She said... QUESTION: Last week, for the first time ever, I confessed to my long term crush that I had feelings for him and asked if he felt the same way. He basically said that he did, but then he hesitated to move forward and wondered what I saw in him. He was self conscious about not making a lot of money or having as much education as me. I never worried about that though, and am just happy that he has a stable job that he loves. I also am a leader in my church and have higher titles than him, but think that his own spiritual maturity is equal to mine. My question is where do I go from here? How do I attract guys that are not so intimidated by my success, and how should I respond to those who seem to like me, but don't like me enough to actually have the courage needed to date me? HE SAID: Years ago, I explored this topic as it seems to be a common concern among many single independent women. Through a (somewhat) careful study, I discovered some interesting information and simplified (generalized) it down to 3 types of men which may help you to understand your situation. First, there are those who are intimidated by successful women. As "macho" men are supposed to be, many are not all they represent themselves to be. For some, it may just be immaturity as men have been found to develop and mature later than women. For others, it can be insecurity. Men are pressured (or taught) by society to be or live up to something that is often not possible, nor should be. Those who fall in this category may be afraid to be "shown up" or "unveiled" and being with a female who is successful and assured accentuates their underlying being. The second group are those who are not intimidated because they want that motherly figure. These guys have probably been taken care of all their life and never pressured to step up. These guys look for a woman to lead so they can continue the status quo. The final group are those guys who are confident in who they are, know their responsibilities, lead a balanced life and appreciate an independent successful woman. They find comfort in knowing his wife (or future one) can take care of things when he can't and is more than capable to on her own. You sound like the type of person who may be looking for a guy in the latter category. These guys can usually be found volunteering for service projects at church or in the community, attending events where they can further their education or grow personally, or socializing in constructive ways. Look at churches in your area for opportunities or check out local "Meetup" groups to see if there is anything that interests you. If a guy likes you and doesn't have the courage to ask you out, he probably doesn't have what you want, at least for now. Life is too short to settle for someone who may never be God's best for you. SHE SAID: I totally understand where you are coming from. The reality is for some men it's an issue. It's intimidating, for many people. I believe the enemy has long been attacking men to make them feel of little value or worth. That their identity is wrapped up in their work, their ability to lead with loudness, their ability to make money or empower others etc. But not every man in the Bible was loud, rich or good with words (Moses); they followed God and like you said, that is what appealed to you about this man. So, you have two options. You can pray and wait for a man that doesn't care that you seem farther along in some areas than he is and is not insecure or you can settle. Now could it change over time? Could your husband, by your prayers, his relationship with God, and your relationship grow and surpass you in areas, sure? But if he doesn't, it really comes down to who he is in Christ. Does he know who he is? Does he understand his value? The enemy loves to confuse us on who we are and where God is leading us. Please know there are many, many amazing marriages where women make more money, have more college education and so forth — mainly due to times changing. So, my question is how far apart are you? Because it's really about compatibility. Are you meeting men who didn't finish high school? Make min wage? Grew up with nothing? And you went to college, grew up with material possessions, and make a great salary. Then yes, you might have some compatibility issues but if we are talking about you finishing college and he hasn't, you make $50,000 a year and he makes $40,000, these are just not big enough differences to me. I have gotten to a place in my walk with the Lord that I am praying for a man who loves Jesus more than me. I don't care what he does as long as he knows God put him there. If a man understands who he is in the Lord, then what you do, your education won't matter. His security is in Christ, not the world. So, keep praying girl, don't settle, and seek the Lord's best. Psalm 119:2, How blessed are those who observe His testimonies, Who seek Him with all their heart. Philippians 4:6, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Australia to jail Nigerian student Igwebuike 25 October | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 05 Oct 2017 01:00 AM PDT An Australian court will sentence a Nigerian post-graduate student, Jackson Igwebuike on 25 October, after he was found guilty of importing methamphetamine worth $10million to Canberra. The drug, worth N3.6 billion was imported by Igwebuike to Canberra in ornate golden fish statues in October 2015, but alert security men intercepted the drugs and substituted the ice before he collected the parcel. The drug could have had "calamitous consequences" if sold in the community, federal prosecutors told the court. Lawyers for the 34 year-old Nigerian, a graduate of University of Benin, agreed he acted as "more than just a mere courier" when he accepted delivery of about 8.47 grams of pure ice before he attempted to board a Murrays bus to Sydney with the drugs in his bag. An ACT Supreme Court jury found him guilty of importing a commercial quantity of a border controlled drug in August. Igwebuike was caught in a police sting after Australian Border Force officers intercepted packages destined for Canberra in October 2015. His trial heard the drugs were discovered when three 20 kilogram statues that arrived in a shipping crate from China were X-rayed by officers at Port Botany on October 8. Inside one statue of a fish they found 43 packages that contained a combined total of 10.58 kilograms of methamphetamine. Federal police had swapped the drugs with an "inert substance" before the fish statue was put back together and repacked. Taps of Igwebuike's phones picked up communication between the accused and another man in Igbo and with a freight company based in Sydney. Prosecutors said Igwebuike used the name "Solomon David" and asked the company for the package to be delivered to an address in Kaleen. Undercover police later watched as the packages were delivered to the address and collected by Igwebuike, who took them to a second address in the same suburb. In a phone conversation with another man soon after, Igwebuike discussed transport and meeting places in Sydney. He was arrested as he stood in a queue at the Jolimont Centre for a Murrays bus to Sydney on October 17. Police seized a suitcase filled with 43 packages of the drug substitute. Igwebuike said he hadn't known the statues had been filled with drugs. He said he'd been approached by two men in a carpark and asked to pick up some decorative glass items. Those men later showed up at his house after he had collected the parcels and broke the statues open, before threatening to kill his wife and destroy him if he didn't take the drugs to Sydney, he said. Commonwealth prosecutor Edward Chen told a sentence hearing on Tuesday that Igwebuike had maintained he had been doing a favour for a friend and wouldn't admit he committed the crime for profit.
"The offender does not seem to demonstrate any willingness to accept responsibility for his actions," he said. Defence barrister James Sabharwal said Igwebuike had come to Australia to study at the University of Canberra and the fact he would not now be able to complete his postgraduate studies was a form of punishment. Mr Sabharwal said Igwebuike had worked in the kitchen at the territory's jail and used his income to make phone calls to his large family, including his wife, in Nigeria. Igwebuike, who didn't "quite gel" with other inmates and was often alone, had been in custody since his arrest and could be deported when he was released, the court heard. Mr Sabharwal said there was no evidence Igwebuike would have benefited from a large amount of money from his involvement. Acting Chief Justice Hilary Penfold said some comments in a letter Igwebuike had written to the court, which indicated he did accept some responsibility, raised questions as to why he maintained his innocence to a pre-sentence report author. A new student of the school who spoke to The Nation newspaper, said he was told upon entering the hostel by a senior student that he would have to disinfect his mattress as they were all filled with bedbugs. More injuries were added when students started seeing the bugs in their classrooms. "You can even see the bugs moving from one place to another to the extent of finding bedbugs in the lecture room," he said. Emmanuel, another fresher in the school said students sometimes make use of a whole bottle of insecticide on their beds before they can even lay at night and this is unhealthy, adding that the school management is aware yet are not doing anything. They're not my clothes,' Megan told Hollywood Pipeline. 'At five, that's a time when he should be having fun. He's not harming anyone [by] wearing a dress. So if he wants to wear a dress, good on him.' So many however think this wrong, but again it's her son, it's his choice or what do you guys think? culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog

Why I Wrote Buhari Over NNPC Boss Actions – Kachikwu Posted: 05 Oct 2017 12:48 AM PDT Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has revealed the reason he decided to write a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari to complain about the activities of the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Maikanti Baru. This comes after his critics argued that he should have made efforts to discuss the matters with Buhari one-on-one before writing a letter, knowing that such means is prone to leakage. Revealing why he had to write to Buhari, Kachikwu said he tried to have a one-on-one appointment with the president at the State House but he was blocked. "I have been unable to secure an appointment to see you despite very many attempts" Kachikwu told Buhari in his disturbing letter. The revelation has caused many to wonder why Kachikwu should be blocked from seeing his principal who appointed him to the post. In the letter dated August 30, 2017, Kachikwu complained bitterly about the recent massive changes at NNPC as the changes were never discussed with him and members of the board of the corporation. "Indeed, in anticipation of vacancies that would arise from retiring senior executives of NNPC, I wrote the GMD (Baru) a letter requesting that we both have prior review of the proposed appointments. This was to enable me to present same to the board or give an anticipatory approval and then review with the board later. "I wrote to the GMD, given previous happenstance of this nature. In addition, thereafter, I called the GMD to a private meeting where I discussed these issues. Needless to say that, not only did he not give my letter the courtesy of a reply, he proceeded to announce the appointments without consultation or board concurrence,"Kachikwu said. Dr. Kachikwu added that Baru did not also consult the Board Services Committee, whose function it is to review potential appointments and terminations of senior staff prior to implementation. The minister also alleged that Baru had sidelined the NNPC Board in the awards of contracts. He said the NNPC boss disobeyed the legal requirement which said that all contracts above $20 million should be reviewed and approved by the NNPC board. "This is despite my diplomatic encouragement of Dr. Baru to do so to avoid wrongfully painting you as a president who does not allow due process to thrive in NNPC. Given the history of malpractices and the public perception of NNPC as having a history of non-transparency, the NNPC Tenders Board (NTB) cannot be the final clearance authority for contracts it enters into. "The NTB, which is a collection of top-level NNPC executives and COOs, with the GMD as chairman, cannot continue to be the final approval authority for multi-million dollar contracts and transactions involving NNPC to the exclusion of the board. "Board members have singularly and collectively raised these issues to no avail," Kachikwu added. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
