“I Can’t Wait for My Parents to Die, So I Can Inherit All These” – Son rants online Posted: 18 Oct 2017 04:04 AM PDT One of the worst thing that can happen to a person is to be the parent of "bad child" who is not ready to live right but simply waiting for you to die, so he/she can take over your properties. A young man, identified as Phetsogo on social media, has declared that he cannot wait for his parents to die, so he can inherit their properties, which includes his dad's 4 cars and his mom's 2 cars. In crazy tweets which have gone viral, the obviously misguided son said: Some of the South African guy's followers on twitter have reacted to his crazy statement: "A condom would have saved us all from this tweet", someone obviously disgusted by his tweet said. "He is a product of bad s*x", another person added. "And you wonder why you're the only child, they did not want to multiply the stupidity, you are a bunch of stupid, 3 in 1," yet another follower slammed him. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Single Mother's New Lover Beats Her Son To Death... and the reason will shock you Posted: 18 Oct 2017 03:34 AM PDT A man has been arrested for torturing his girlfriend's eight-year-old son to death because he thought he was gay. Isauro Aguirre and partner Pearl Fernandez allegedly bit, whipped and beat little Gabriel Fernandez in catalogue of horrific attacks at their home in Palmdale, California. In the months leading up to his death, the little boy, Gabriel, was covered with pepper spray... the kid was forced to eat his own vomit, regularly gagged to stop him from speaking and locked in a cabinet when he complained, the court heard. Fernandez and Isauro also burned him with cigarettes, whipped him, shot him with a BB gun, starved him and fed him cat litter. The innocent child was kept gagged and bound in a cubby until he was found, a Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office heard. When interviewed by police in the aftermath of his death, Gabriel's siblings told of how they had to watch as their brother was forced by their mother and her boyfriend to eat cat faeces. Los Angeles County Fire Department paramedic James Cermak told the court he couldn't believe what he saw when he responded to the 911 call of Gabriel in cardiac arrest at the couple's apartment. "It was just unbelievable amount of trauma on his body," Cermak said. The boy was hospitalised, but he died two days late. Aguirre and Fernandez, who are on trial for murder and torture, will be tried separately. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
We Should Start Thinking & Delivering Results, Thinkers Rule The World – Bishop Oyedepo Posted: 18 Oct 2017 03:34 AM PDT Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church, Dr. David Oyedepo has declared that the greatest challenge he sees facing the black man today is not intellectual bankruptcy, but laziness and the inability to task his thinking faculty towards realising assets that will benefit his immediate environment. He said: "Everywhere I go in Nigeria today, everybody continues to complain that things are not working; but who will start how things will work and when? That person is you and that time is now. And post graduate education should serve as a platform for inciting our students into thinking solutions. Today, it is thinkers that rule the world and we should be development-oriented in things we do." Bishop Oyedepo who is also the Chancellor of Covenant University, challenged academicians to 'stop being merely bookish and start grooming thinkers'. Delivering the keynote address at the 54th meeting of the Committee of Deans of Post Graduate Schools in Nigerian Universities at CU premises, he said his experiences with those in the academia shows that many of them are simply so proud of having become authority in their chosen fields. He noted that, that is not enough as they need to go a step further by indoctrinating in scholars the art of thinking out ideas which would address some of the challenges plaguing the black continent. Oyedepo said global solution providers such as Albert Einsten, Isaac Newton, The Wright Brothers among others, once had a brainwave in their time which led to great revolutions in their fields. He warned Nigerians to battle their challenges headlong if they want to see needed changes. To make that difference, Oyedepo challenged the deans to start thinking out of the box, saying that is what would propel them to imbibe same culture into their students. "Leadership is not being in the driver seat, but adding values. As a dean, you must start thinking what difference you are going to make in that position; what contributions in terms of innovations and feat. You have no business being in that position if you cannot make that difference that will be a reference point to your successors years after you have left." Oyedepo suggested the 'read thinking' concept which according to him, combines research alongside critical thinking of solutions. Man's biological configuration remains the same regardless of colour or height, Oyedepo argued. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Money Battle: Blac Chyna Sues Entire Kardashian Family Posted: 18 Oct 2017 03:04 AM PDT Babymama to two different men, Blac Chyna is suing all of the Kardashian family, accusing them of, in her words, damaging her brand and sabotaging her reality show with her ex, Rob Kardashian. The 29-year-old lady, who shares her second kid, a daughter Dream, with Rob, claims the Kardashian clan has cost her a fortune after they interfered with the shooting of a reality show she hoped to make some money from to the point the sponsors abandon the show. She also alleges the n*de pic scandal in July, when Rob, 30, went on a social media rampage against her, caused her 'significant damages' and also details alleged verbal and physical abuse she suffered. The lawsuit which People has obtained states: 'Rob Kardashian is an abuser intent on destroying Angela White, the mother of his baby, who left him in 2016. 'In revenge, the Kardashian-Jenner family became media predators, slut-shaming her on social media and killing her hit television show, which had already begun filming a second season.' In the legal documents Chyna - who also shares her first child, a son King, with ex-lover Tyga - names Rob, his mother Kris Jenner, as well as sisters Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie. She said she's ready to make sure they pay for hurting her "professional reputation". culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Lady Beaten & Stripped After She Jumped Fence To Steal Posted: 18 Oct 2017 03:04 AM PDT I guess this lady needs help, but some people will rather visit jungle justice rather than help her case. According to Arc. Paschal Chike Umeobi she was caught by vigilante in Ezinifite, in Anambra State and for what? For trying to steal something to eat. Sigh! Read the story... "She allegedly jumped the fence and burgled a building just to steal biscuit but luck ran out of her when one of the vigilantes perceived an unknown intruder and tried to stop her to prove she was good at what she does she tried to [run] which prompted the vigilante to shot at her but she dodged the bullet and jumped through other fence and landed in another compound. The owners of the house had to raise an alarm and she was apprehended. It added that, when she was interrogated, the lady said she went there to get something to eat and not to look for/steal money."Below is how people are reacting to the story: We should ask question... Kachikwu’s Letter To Buhari: Senate Under Pressure To Stop NNPC Probe? Posted: 18 Oct 2017 02:29 AM PDT There are indications that the presidency has initiated moves to avert the indictment of the GMD of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Maikanti Baru, by the Senate ad hoc committee charged with investigating him for awarding multi-billion contracts without approval. The 9-man committee chaired by Senator Aliyu Wamakko, is charged with investigating Baru over the allegations raised against him in a letter by the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu. The allegations included insubordination and keeping the NNPC board chaired by Kachikwu in the dark in the award of contracts and promotion of senior executives of NNPC. However, Baru in his response to the letter, which was leaked, dismissed the allegations, saying he did not need the approval of the board, as all contracts went through the NNPC Tenders Board, got No Objections from the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), and were approved by the president. But he failed to address the issue of his appointment of senior executives of NNPC without obtaining the approval of the corporation's board. The ensuing furore over Kachikwu's memo prompted the Senate to mandate an inquiry into the issues he raised in the memo and to carry out a holistic investigation into the finances of the NNPC. The Senate ad hoc committee was supposed to hold its inaugural meeting on Tuesday but the meeting was postponed to next Tuesday without any reasons proffered for the postponement. A highly placed source, however, informed ThisDay that Buhari met with Wamakko Tuesday evening to lobby the committee to give Baru a soft landing. The source explained that the president was prevailed upon to personally meet with Wamakko instead of delegating the assignment to any of his aides. "Wamakko has a reputation for being firm and straightforward. Obviously, many senators were certain of his handling of the probe with him at the helm of the committee, because he would say it as it is. "That is why the president's aides convinced him (Buhari) to personally meet with Wamakko to ensure that the message is clear. If not, he would have delegated someone like Abba Kyari (chief of staff), or even any of the party leaders," the source said. The source was emphatic that the motive behind the meeting was to ensure that Baru is not indicted by the committee and to prevent a recommendation for his removal from office. We guess the right thing is for Buhari to be interested in the truth rather than trying to save Baru's job. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

PDP Must Win The Presidency In 2019 – Jonathan Posted: 18 Oct 2017 12:39 AM PDT Former President Goodluck Jonathan has advised members of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) no to make the mistake of picking wrong choice of National Working Committee members at the December convention. Jonathan gave the advice when he received an aspirant for the party's national chairmanship position, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, at his residence in Abuja on Tuesday. He cautioned that the party could not afford to make mistake in choosing its next national chairman and publicity secretary, describing them as "very delicate positions." He said, "This time around we need a very courageous and vocal person to be the chairman. There are two positions that we must not make mistake on – the positions of the national chairman and that of the national publicity secretary, because I have worn the shoes before and I know where it pinches. "If we make a mistake as a party and elect a wrong chairman and publicity secretary, we are finished." Jonathan added, "We need a very competent person and a team player, somebody who will not negotiate to get money from the aspirants to make them candidates. "If you do that, you have destroyed the party because a party must come up with programmes and policies that will elect the best of the best. "If you present the best material, the chances of your wining election are stronger than when you present a wrong material. We need such kind of chairman that will galvanise the national committee and also link up with state committees and do the best for the party. "This is key so that by 2019 when we go for the general elections, the PDP will have majority in the states' Houses and National Assembly and of course, the PDP must win the Presidency." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

An Open Letter to My Single Female Friend Posted: 18 Oct 2017 12:14 AM PDT Dear Elisabeth, I ask for your forgiveness. I have not been a good disciple, nor a good friend to you in the ways I press and groan and guess about possible times and dates for when the Lord will bring us husbands. Talking too much about "if" and "when" and "how" Mr. Right comes is not beneficial to either of us. I distract you from the Lord, feed my idolatry of this gift, while eroding our trust in the Father's sovereignty. Times and Dates for Marriage I read this passage today, and it encouraged and challenged me: He [Jesus] said to them, "It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth..." "This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." (Acts 1:7-8, 11) Jesus is about to leave his disciples, and you can imagine the questions going through their minds! Why? When will he return? How will we go on? But Jesus tells these men that times and dates don't belong to them. They are not theirs to know, manipulate, or work around. So times and dates don't belong to us either; they are set by God the Father and will come to pass as he ordains. Jesus gives his disciples freedom to let go: The thing they worry over and grasp for is not in their hands. They don't control what they so desire, which in this case is a good desire – to see God fulfill his promises to their people, his people (see 1:16)! The times and dates of our wedding days are in the hands of our Father, and the "if" question is already answered by this verse in Acts: He has set the circumstances, whether an earthly wedding or seasons of waiting. The details are not for us to know. To think we are lords over this good desire we share is a lie. Only our Lord is truly sovereign. Let's submit to and delight in our King's reign. Treasure Better Than Marriage Jesus tells us that God replaces what we wrongly clutch with a gift. Like the loving Father he is, it is a good and perfect gift (James 1:17) that he knows we can – and commands that we will – cherish. That gift is his name, and a couple other gifts come with this. We are given the Holy Spirit and the authoritative Word of God so we can bear witness to his name rightly and with power. We are bearers of the name of Jesus to the ends of the earth. That is no small treasure to possess and profess. We carry this treasure of the gospel into our work places, homes, churches, schools, and circles of influence; what a gift we have the privilege of proclaiming! It's no trivial perk that God says we have his Spirit and his power — we desperately need both and cannot bear this responsibility without him. Turning from Our Sin Yet, the devil, the world, and our sinful hearts would take our focus off this treasure and instead fix us on what we don't have: a dating relationship or a future spouse. These desires can give way to sin: discontent, fear, anger, bitterness, envy, pride and idolatry — But God promises that his Spirit will help us put to death those sins surrounding our desires: No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. (1 John 3:9) I so often believe the lie that I'll never be free from mixed motives in relationships with Christian brothers, impatience with God's timing, and doubt in his sovereignty. But such sin can be destroyed! God says it cannot live on in our hearts; that's a promise. He is our help. The Glorious Wedding Day We desire godly husbands, so we look to the wedding day! God's Word here tells us what to desire: the name of Jesus to be proclaimed because the Wedding Day is coming. Jesus is coming back for us, and then time will be up for this side of eternity. Earthly marriage will pass away. The wedding of the Lamb of God and his prepared Bride, the church, will arrive in its place (Revelation 19:7). When Jesus comes back, we will have the real version of which earthly marriages are merely shadows. We are members of his Bride. Yet we can keep the desire for earthly marriage; perhaps it is God's design that we have it. Jesus didn't tell the disciples to stop hoping in the restoration of Israel. He told them to lift their eyes to their ultimate hope. Truths as We Wait What's going to help us remember these truths? What will remind us that we don't need to know times or dates for dating or engagement or marriage? The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. (John 14:26) Our greatest help is from the Lord. The Spirit of power given to us will work in our hearts. He, our faithful friend, will endlessly bear witness to the name of Jesus and go with us to the ends of the earth. Our corner may be small, but our call and companion are not. Maybe instead of talking about our earthly dreams for dating and marriage – "what if's" and worries over the "how's" – let's ask each other, "What will the day be like when Jesus returns?" What do we have to look forward to? And how can we creatively, sincerely, and boldly bear witness to him now as we wait for that day? Let's anticipate the coming of our true Husband better, together. Stanbic Bank Staff Jailed 10 Years For Stealing N23million Posted: 18 Oct 2017 12:14 AM PDT A former bank teller at a branch of Stanbic Bank has been sentenced by a court for his involvement in a N23 million naira fraud in Ghana. The Wa Circuit Court sentenced the former teller who worked at the Wa branch of Stanbic Bank to 10 years imprisonment with hard labor for stealing ¢287,000 (N23 million) belonging to the bank. According to MyJoy Ghana, presiding over the case, Justice Forson Baah Agyapong found Abdulai Rahman, 29, who was responsible for mobile money electronic transactions at the bank guilty. According to the Prosecutor, Detective Sergeant Famous Kweku Agbasah the accused from August 31 to September 2, diverted the bank's electronic cash to the tune of ¢287,000. Mr Rahman then transferred the money to MTN mobile money merchant accounts numbers namely 0548715349, 0542058194 and 0549937512. The Detective Sergeant noted that during the period, the accused person was audited by the bank and his staff identification came up as the one responsible for all listed transactions. A report was made to the police leading to the arrest of Mr Rahman. The accused in his statement to the police admitted stealing ¢190,000.00 belonging to Stanbic Bank and transferred it to the MTN mobile money numbers for the purpose of transacting his own business. In the course of investigations, ¢10,000 was retrieved from the accused, but the accused pleaded not guilty to the charge of stealing. However, the Wa Circuit Court judge, in evaluating the case, found the accused guilty of stealing. Counsel for the accused, Clement Eledi, pleaded with the Court to deal leniently with the accused since he is a first time offender and a young person. Justice Agyapong subsequently sentenced the accused to 10 years imprisonment with hard labor and ordered him to refund ¢277,000 he stole to Stanbic Bank. Also, the ¢10,000 retrieved during the investigation was ordered to be returned to the Stanbic Bank. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

6 Truths To Cling To When Life Looks Uncertain Posted: 18 Oct 2017 12:14 AM PDT After an initial appointment with my family doctor, I found myself sitting in an unfamiliar office, explaining my symptoms to a neurologist. Completely stumped, he concluded, "Well, the first thing we'll have to do is get in there and see what's going on. I'm going to order and MRI of the brain. Are you claustrophobic?" A brain scan was not what I was expecting. I listened as intently as possible while he rattled off the details of the procedure, asking numerous times if I was claustrophobic and whether I was allergic to contrast dye, and telling me I couldn't wear anything metal during the scan. He held up a plastic model of the brain and explained possible diagnoses, none of which sounded pleasant. Upon leaving his office with a brain scan scheduled for the following week, I did what any rational person would do: I went to the nearest food court and sat by myself with eight pieces of salmon avocado California rolls, chased by a chai latte from Panera. Because sushi and chai can calm any situation. Then the waiting began. They always say the waiting is the hardest part. I concur. I had five days to wait until the actual scan, then another three days to wait for the results. In the meantime, I swung like a pendulum back and forth between rational and irrational thoughts, and convinced myself that my symptoms had worsened dramatically in the hours since my neurology appointment. Fear of the unknown is enough to make anybody crazy. I thought back to my mom's cancer diagnosis years earlier, and remembered the fear that nearly paralyzed me. It hadn't done any good then, and it wouldn't do any good now. I had to resign myself to the Lord's purposes, and simply trust. This experience took place several weeks ago, and I'm thrilled to be able to report that the MRI scan was normal. Here are some lessons I gained in the process, which can apply during all times of uncertainty. 1) The Future is Fragile With a single sentence, the neurologist changed my plans for the coming week and punctuated my future with a question mark. I felt the words of James land hard in the pit of my stomach: "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes" (James 4:14). Circumstances in life can change in an instant, with a word. Jobs can disappear overnight, homes can be wiped away by storms or fires. There are no guarantees in this life, except that we will all die sometime. We should therefore live with a somber and hallowed reverence for the frailty of life and all that is in it. I once read the testimony of a woman whose husband died in the emergency room. She said, "The emergency ward is no place to sort out your theology." Think about that. Don't wait for an unexpected crisis to force you to figure out what you believe. Place your trust now in the One who holds all things together. "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God" (Psalm 20:7). The future is fragile; it's fleeting. Is your soul ready for whatever might come? 2) People are Pertinent When I received the news about needing a brain scan, I only told a handful of people. I didn't want to create an unnecessary cause for concern before I even knew whether anything was wrong or not. Yet the small group of people who did know were unbelievably supportive. I felt so loved and lifted up. So held. Through this trial, I realized afresh that people are important. The body of Christ is important. As Christians, we need to live as though we're one body — one in mind, one in spirit (Philippians 2:2). We rejoice when others rejoice and mourn when others mourn (Romans 12:15). A burden shared becomes a burden divided. Take time today to tell someone that you love them, that you prayed for them. Thank God for the people He has placed in your life to love and care for you. 3) Prayer is Powerful If you're a Christian, you likely already know the power of prayer. But sometimes it's easy to fall into an apathy that reveals our lack of faith. Sometimes we get so used to praying the same things that we lose that sense of genuine expectancy, that fervent belief that God really will answer our prayers. Experiencing this uncertainty with my health was like an open curtain that gave me a glimpse into the faith of others. I saw just how confident they were that our God would provide. Hearing their boldness and confidence helped to bolster my own faith, and to pray with more conviction for the Lord's will to be done. Even when we go through times of great uncertainty, we can always turn to the one true rock, Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). 4) Peace is Possible I've experienced it a handful of times before, but it still surprises me. In the five days leading up to my scheduled MRI, I was nervous. Anxious. Acting like a hypochondriac, convincing myself that my symptoms were growing worse with every passing hour. Yet the morning that I woke up on the day of the scan, I felt an overwhelming sense of peace. I could literally feel that people were praying. Given my previous days of apprehension, it really was a "peace that passes understanding" (Philippians 4:7). If you're struggling with anxiety over uncertainty in your life, cling to the promise of Isaiah 26:3 — "You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." 5) God is Good Although I was nervous about the actual scan and the outcome, I did have an inner peace about the overall destination of my soul. In the days leading up to the test, verses kept coming to mind which say, "the Lord has been good to me." Then on two consecutive days, in two different contexts, the Lord drew my attention to the attribute of His goodness, even in the midst of hardship. One occasion was an entire sermon preached on Psalm 119:68 — "You are good, and what you do is good." Let's ask God to train our minds and hearts to rest in His goodness, even if we can't see His immediate purposes. 6) Heaven is our Hope In a world riddled with uncertainty, we need an anchor. As Christians, that anchor is Jesus Christ, and through Him, the hope of heaven. We may experience every manner of hardship here on earth, but nothing can take away the inheritance that is held secure for us in glory. When you find yourself flailing amidst the choppy waves of life, grab hold of the anchor. "Set your mind on things above, not on earthly things" (Colossians 3:2), and hold on to the hope that is eternal. [written by Kate Motaung] culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
