3 Ways To Kick Start The New Year Posted: 02 Jan 2018 03:13 AM PST How has another year passed? What happened to the good intentions of last year? There was so much to achieve. Instead goals were replaced with disappointment. What will make this year different? What will propel you toward the future God has for your life? To see genuine change, you must work on the internal. And as a Christian, it's is more than an attitude change; it is a heart change. For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. What you believe in your heart determines your life. Friends, career, behavior, family, values, all stem from what you believe. So if you want to kickstart 2018, you've got to get your believing right. Believe right and 2018 will start on the right foot. Believe God is Good Taste and see that the Lord is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! (Psalm 34:8). If you want a kickin' year, you have to believe God is good. All the time. Believe You Are a Child of God You are a child of God, bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:19). Stop thinking you are not worthy. Your life paid for by the blood of the Lamb. Walk in the authority and power of a child of the Most High. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir (Galatians 4:7). As God's child you are heir. Heir to his promises. Not just some of them, all of them. Do not settle for less. For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith (1 John 5:4). As a child of God you overcome. Every challenge. Every obstacle. You overcome because you are his child. Many struggle with being a child of God. But if you want to overcome, if you want to lay claim to all his promises, this has to be settled in your heart. When the disciples asked Jesus to teach them how to have a conversation with God, Jesus said, "Pray like this: Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy" (Matthew 6:9). Jesus taught us to come to God as Father. Without pomp or fear. Without pretence or shame. Come to the Father. It is the first thing you say in conversation with him. And when you recognise him as Father, you acknowledge yourself as child. Each time you pray, meditate on God as Father and your position as his child. Believe that You Define the Moment Defining moments are moments in life that define who we are; monumental experiences of self-actualization. "Have I missed my defining moments? Is that my problem?" No. You define the moment. Life is a matter of choice. You have the potential to make moments monumental. This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live (Deuteronomy 30:19). Satan wants us to think our choices are limited. That we are trapped and small. God created thousands of good trees, and only one evil one. 2018 will present you with limitless opportunities. Don't let them pass you by. Define the moment. Make your life extraordinary. Life is yours for the taking. 2018 will be your best year yet. Don't just change your attitude. Change your heart. Believe right and get ready for an amazing year. 6 Tips To Get An Ideal Job In 2018 Posted: 02 Jan 2018 02:33 AM PST Shared by Naira Metrics We need to ensure that we've done everything humanly possible on our part to get a great job; First let's review our resume A few people have been using the same resume they typed about 2 years ago for all the jobs they've been applying for. You need to keep your resume updated keeping up with the constantly changing economic world. Sit down and look at your resume; strike out what needs to be stricken out and add what needs to be added. Go over your skills; soft and hard skills Each employer or recruiter has a set of skills they require for their job postings. You need to keep up with the flow. Brush your skills up and pick new skills if necessary depending on what employers need. Go over the skills you can offer an employer. Make a list of it so you know which jobs to apply for. Create a significant online presence It's no news that the world has gone digital. Most recruiters go out of their way to search for their potential employee online. This is why you need to have a significant online presence. Set your Facebook and other social media pages that may contain inappropriate material or too much info about you to private. Also sign up for LinkedIn and create a detailed profile. Don't give up It's tiring submitting your CV/resume from place to place, getting your hopes up, only to have it crash down again. The experience is really daunting. However, don't give up! Quitting is for losers. Keep going. Keep hanging on. Something will surely turn up soon. Know what you want and go for it It is common practice for people to apply for 'any' job out of desperation to get a job. Just because you need to pay bills, don't lose sight of your career goals. Don't just apply anywhere. Apply for jobs that tally with your skills, qualifications and goals. Don't forget networking Learn to be flexible on your job search. Job postings don't always have to be online, you could hear about a great opportunity from relatives or other people within your network circle. Someone might even recommend you for a job opening at the company where they work or somewhere else. The truth is that with the way Nigeria is headed, it will be so much better if you can get someone on the inside of the company you're applying at. Having someone on the insider increases your chances of getting the job. This Christmas season might be a great opportunity to network. When these tips do work for you, as they will, don't forget that you have a choice in this matter. Just because you're being offered a job doesn't mean you should jump on it. Take time to go through the offer and ensure that it suits all your needs both career wise, physically and financially. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
"God Has Told Me To Contest For President" - Pastor Bakare Posted: 02 Jan 2018 02:08 AM PST Some say because he already has the desire to contest before, it's possible whenever words come to him, he'll conclude it's God asking him to contest. They added that those who God called for positions or assignments don't usually have desire for such until the call comes. Anyway, Tunde Bakare, the senior pastor of Latter Rain Assembly, says he will be running for president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Speaking at the cross over service at The Church's auditorium in Ogba, Lagos, on Monday morning, Bakare said God has instructed him to return to politics and run for president and lead the nation to prosperity. "I heard the Lord say to me, politics is not over for you, there is still one thing left for you to do; run for president," Bakare told the church. "And He said to me, I will work it out myself. I will make it happen in due course. Please trust me, I lie not in the Holy Ghost. This is not easy for me to share with you. I shared this with you, so that you can pray along with me," he added. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Israel Finds 2,700-Year-Old Biblical 'Governor of Jerusalem' Seal Posted: 02 Jan 2018 12:53 AM PST Israeli archaeologists unveiled on Monday a 2,700-year-old clay seal impression which they said belonged to a biblical governor of Jerusalem. The artifact, inscribed in an ancient Hebrew script as "belonging to the governor of the city", was likely attached to a shipment or sent as a souvenir on behalf of the governor, the most prominent local position held in Jerusalem at the time, the Israel Antiquities Authority said. The impression, the size of a small coin, depicts two standing men, facing each other in a mirror-like manner and wearing striped garments reaching down to their knees. It was unearthed near the plaza of Judaism's Western Wall in the Old City of Jerusalem. "It supports the Biblical rendering of the existence of a governor of the city in Jerusalem 2,700 years ago," an Antiquities Authority statement quoted excavator Shlomit Weksler-Bdolah as saying. Governors of Jerusalem, appointed by the king, are mentioned twice in the Bible, in 2 Kings, which refers to Joshua holding the position, and in 2 Chronicles, which mentions Masseiah in the post during the reign of Josiah. According to Reuters, the Antiquities Authority's announcement came several weeks after U.S. President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capital, a decision that overturned decades-old policy on the status of the city and stirred Palestinian protests and international concern. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

"There Is Something Rotten In Nigeria" - Soyinka Posted: 02 Jan 2018 12:28 AM PST Nobel laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka has lamented that there is something rotten in the state of 'Naija' (Nigeria). Speaking in a statement, Soyinka lamented that Nigerians were being frustrated and made to undergo excruciating pains and sufferings. His words; "This has been expressed most recently, and near universally in the word "Restructuring", defined straightforwardly as a drastic overhaul of Nigerian articles of co-existence in a more rational, equitable and decentralized manner. Such an overhaul, the re-positioning of the relationship between the parts and the whole offers, it has been strongly argued, prospects of a closer governance awareness of, and responsiveness to citizen entitlement. An overhaul that will near totally eliminate the frequent spasms of systemic malfunctioning that are in-built into the present protocols of national association. "I recently ran the gauntlet of petroleum queues through three conveniently situated cities – Lagos, Abeokuta and Ibadan – deliberately, this Friday. Even with 'unorthodox' aids of passage, this was no task for the faint-hearted. Just getting past fueling stations was traumatizing, an obstacle race through seething, frustrated masses of humanity, only to find ourselves on vast stretches of emptied roads pleading for occupation. As for obtaining the petroleum in the first place – the less said the better. I suspect that this government has permitted itself to be fooled by the peace of those empty streets, but also by the orderly, patient, long-suffering queues that are admittedly prevalent in the city centres. "It is time the reporting monitors of government move to city peripheries and sometimes even some other inner urban sectors, such as Ikeja and Maryland from time to time to see, and listen !Pronouncements – such as the 1977 above – again re-echoing by rote in 2017– are a delusion at best, a formula that derides public intelligence. Buying time. Passing blame. Yes of course, the current affliction must be remedied, and fast, but is there a dimension to it that must be brought to the fore, simultaneously and forcefully? This had better be the framework for solving even a shortage that virtually paralyzed the nation," he said. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

The state's Police Commissioner, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim, disclosed that operatives of the Special Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Squad, SAKCCS, effected the arrest on December 29. His words: "On September 19, 2016, a victim, Gbiyede Juliet, was kidnapped alongside her child, Tekevwe Gbiyede, aged nine, while driving her Venza car. Four suspects were then arrested and charged to court in connection with the crime. "However, on December 29, 2017, the suspect, Ojigedu Doctor, was arrested in Asaba by SAKCCS operatives for his complicity in most kidnap cases in Warri and environs. "He admitted that he gave N2,000 to the earlier arrested kidnappers to fuel Gbiyede Juliet's Venza car for possible escape. "The suspect evaded arrest in 2016 in connection with alleged kidnap case and abandoned his Toyota Camry with number plates JRT 528 GE, currently packed at the Police Station, Ebrumede." … Meanwhile, Mr. Zanna Ibrahim has disclosed that he was under pressure by some powerful Deltans to release the notorious kidnap and robbery suspect, Anthony Obolor, a.k.a. Dracula, arrested by the Police. Ibrahim, who had complained to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, did not name the powerful persons, but said: "Big shots are calling to compromise me on his case." He added: "It is because of the pressure that I decided to call this press conference, parade him and make them to back off." Vanguard culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |

Father Mbaka to Buhari: Sack The Cabal Holding You Hostage or You'll Be Changed Posted: 01 Jan 2018 11:23 PM PST Popular Catholic priest, Rev. Father Ejike Mbaka, on January 1st (Monday) warned President Muhammadu Buhari to sack the cabal holding him in captivity otherwise he would be changed. Mbaka made the call during his New Year message at the Emene Enugu Adoration Ground. The priests lamented that the good intentions of the President have been hijacked by a cabal that surrounded him. He demanded that Buhari should wake up and live up to his billings as Nigerians have suffered a lot in the past year. He said: "I had wanted to pray for you and go because I don't want anybody to attack me. I don't want the Bishop to invite me; I don't want politicians to attack me anywhere. But God forced me, you must say it. Listen to me. 2017 became one of the most horrible years in this country and that is the message. "The Lord says, Nigerians, he says, captive Nigerians, you will be speedily rescued; Nigerians, things are very very difficult, hard and tough nowadays; the hardship is not from God, they are man- made. The wicked cabals and satanic agents in this country have wickedly kidnapped the goodwill and good intentions of Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari; his good intentions have been kidnapped; President Buhari must wake up and sit up immediately or heaven demands him, heaven demands Buhari, our President to change all those who are holding and caging him in captivity; if he will not change them, he will be changed. Mr. President wake up; sit up; God said you are toying with the privilege given to you. There is no time; Nigerians are dying in your hand; people are not happy with your system. Change or you will be changed... God said that Buhari is in trouble; Buhari is hypnotized; Buhari is in a horrible bondage and Buhari's mantra has been cannibalized. Unless President Buhari quickly and strategically, positions the right people and changes the former ones inaugurated by him, the wind of change that he himself inaugurated will blow him away shamefully. "The wind will be too strong that Mr. President and the cabal will be blown out of office shamefully. The wind will be irresistible for it will come like a hurricane. Buhari can handle this problem but number one, his office, if he is not careful, another will take it. "Number 2, if he is doesn't want to move Nigeria forward, God says He himself will plan a strategy of moving Nigeria forward. His pattern of battling corruption is not just archaic and barbaric but is witch-hunting and terribly selective. Mr. Buhari as the President, why should you be picking and choosing those that you and your so-called EFCC man would want to arrest, so that your party becomes a hideout for criminals, so that any person who does not want to be arrested will become an APC person? Is that not corruption on itself? "Change or you will be changed, after all you are the one who introduced change as your mantra. Nigerian economy is in shambles and Nigerians are in sorrow. Nigeria is not just passing through an economic depression but also it is a time of economic repression and compression. Very soon, Nigerians will know that the country is in terrible mess. The cabals have messed up the President and confused him. So, Mr. President, you are to be blamed, not your cabals. You have your brooms, but the cabals have their bags; either you sweep them away or they throw you into the bag." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Senate Slams NNPC, Marketers Over Fuel Scarcity Posted: 01 Jan 2018 10:23 PM PST The Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream has blamed the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and marketers over short supply of the petroleum products in the country. The Committee Chairman, Sen. Kabiru Marafa, stated this on Monday in Gusau during an oversight assignmnet in the state on fuel situation in the country. Marafa, who was accompanied by a member of the committee, Sen. Abdullahi Danbaba, said the inspection was part of the assignment given to the committee by Senate President Bukola Saraki. "I have directed all members of this committee to go back to their constituencies to investigate the problem at the grassroots so that we take approximate measures to address the scarcity. "We visited NNPC zonal depot Gusau to find out the quantity of fuel supply to the depot and we noticed short supply of the commodity. "We are going to present our findings to the senate. It is very disturbing to see the suffering faced by people due to fuel scarcity in the country. "We question the NNPC over this issue because the Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru said they had doubled the quantity of daily supply of the product, but it is not available to the public. "Another unfortunate thing is the attitude of our filling stations owners who sell this commodity to the public; they are involved in one or two malpractices. "In fact out of the filling stations we visited only two have complied with the government directives in this regard," he said. Marafa commended the state Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) field office in ensuring compliance at the filling stations. The senator urged the DPR to sanction filling stations involved in hoarding and selling above approved government price of N145 per litre. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Palestinian girl,16 who slapped Israeli soldier risks jail term | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 01 Jan 2018 10:08 PM PST A 16-year-old Palestinian girl was charged with assault by an Israeli court on Monday after video footage showed her hitting an armed Israeli soldier in the face, local media reported. Ahed Tamimi is accused of other attacks on Israeli security forces as well. Her mother, Nariman, was also been charged by the Israeli military court in the West Bank with causing bodily harm and for incitement, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Monday. Both were arrested last month in the village of Nabi Saleh, near Ramallah, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency. In a video that quickly spread through social media sites, Tamimi, her mother and another relative appear to be trying to start a confrontation with two Israeli soldiers. Tamimi walks up and hits the man, and a punch lands on his face. The soldiers hardly react, walking around the same spot but not moving away. New Year: Buhari failed to address the real problems – PDP Posted: 01 Jan 2018 10:03 PM PST The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari's New Year address to the nation, saying the President failed to address depressing security and economic issues. A statement issued on Monday by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, carpeted the President for failing to address the fundamental security and economic issues confronting the nation and to which Nigerians expected answers. The party described Buhari's address as another round of false claims and empty promises, which it said has become a routine in close to three years of All Progressives Congress (APC) controlled Presidency. It added that it was for that reason that the PDP had earlier advised the Federal Government not to bother about any New Year message to Nigerians. "We already knew the pattern and we advised against it this year. We knew their New Year message would heighten Nigerians' despondency rather than providing us hope," the statement added. The party also expressed disappointment that President Buhari attempted to appropriate and claim credit for the achievements of the immediate past PDP administration. It said instead of inspiring the people, the address ended up depressing and annoying them the more as it held no message and did not proffer any solutions to the problems inflicted by the government. The party added: "Instead of offering solutions or providing the indices for development, the Presidency deployed over 2000 words passing the buck, begging the question, making empty claims and attempting to appropriate achievements of the PDP administration. "What could be more depressing than the fact that the President, who is also the Minister of Petroleum Resources, did not give a clear-cut solution to the acute fuel crisis bedeviling his nation today? "The President's speech neither addressed how to raise the fallen value of the naira nor how to rescue the labour market from the eight million job losses and acute unemployment being suffered by Nigerians under the APC. "The address completely failed to respond to issues of corruption under the APC regime, including allegations of budget padding, secret oil subsidy deals, illegal lifting of crude worth trillions of naira, pillaging of Nigeria's foreign reserve, diversion of billions of naira for insurgency related matters, all by APC interests. "Furthermore, the speech had no assurances on the worsening economic recession ravaging families under this regime; it had nothing on the dilapidated infrastructure and attendant stress on the economy, which the APC government has caused Nigerians. "Rather, what we heard was a boring litany of buck passing, lame declarations and barefaced attempt to appropriate and claim credit for achievements and landmark projects initiated, articulated and implemented by the PDP administration, including, the railway, electricity and agricultural projects. "We challenge the APC Presidency to tell Nigerians which landmark project it has initiated, articulated and executed in its close to three years of governance. "Also, the citizens are eager to know what work percentage that have been added to projects that were being executed by the PDP before the APC took power by propaganda and lies in 2015. "Nigerians have now seen that the APC has nothing to offer but has only succeeded in wrecking the nation and inflicting hardship on the people. "The option before Nigerians is to kick out the APC come 2019 and return the PDP, which is now repositioned to bring the nation back to the path of national unity and prosperity we all once enjoyed. "On this note, the PDP stands with the people to once again present a government that is serious, truthful and transparent, with an array of best hands harnessing and channeling our national resources for the good of all, as was the order before the unfortunate incursion of the APC." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
