| Ex-Super Eagles player Godwin Okpara arraigned for battering wife | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 10 Nov 2017 03:39 AM PST  Okpara and Oladoyinbo, who were based in France, where the former played for French club, PSG, had been married for over 25 years, and the union blessed with four children. However, crisis started in the marriage in 2005 when the wife reported to the French authorities that Okpara was sleeping with their 13-year-old housemaid, Tina. He was arrested and convicted for the crime. While he served a 10-year prison term and was released in 2012, his wife got 15 years for child abuse. Although Okpara was released early on the grounds of good conduct in prison, he forfeited all his property and money to the French government, who also took custody of the family's three surviving children. Oladoyinbo, after her release, returned to their house in Ikeja, in May 2016. However, she was said to have met some persons in the house, which led to an argument between her and the husband. Oladoyinbo, who wrote a petition to the police at the Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, alleged that 45-year-old Okpara later brought some thugs into the house and ordered them to beat her up. The attack, according to the petition, was because Oladoyinbo questioned the partitioning and sale of the family's landed property in Ikeja. One of her relatives was said to have videoed the attack and also took pictures of the injuries sustained by the victim. Okpara, in his reaction, told the police that the fight happened after he returned home and discovered that his wife had stabbed one of his visitors. The case was referred to the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions, which issued advice on it. The advice, dated September 2017 and signed by the Director, Directorate of Public Prosecutions, Y.G. Oshoala, said the ex-international had a case to answer. The advice said, "Facts in the duplicate case file revealed that Mrs. Linda Oladoyinbo travelled to France for some time and upon her arrival, she was denied access to her matrimonial house by her husband– Godwin Okpara; and when she finally gained access after many weeks, she was only allowed into the guesthouse, while her husband's brother and wife moved into the main house. "Further facts revealed that Mrs. Linda Oladoyinbo questioned Godwin Okpara about the joint property he sold without her knowledge and he beat her mercilessly with the participation of his brother and his wife. He equally brought thugs into the house, who beat her up with sticks upon which she suffered internal bleeding. "This is corroborated by a picture showing severe face injuries suffered by the wife and the medical report from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital indicating that she suffered serious injuries and was found bleeding from the nose and mouth as a result of the assault from the husband. The attached video record from the police clearly shows the suspect assaulting the complainant despite pleas from other observers." The advice, which dismissed charges of forgery, stealing, malicious damage and threat to life due to lack of evidence, said the suspect should be arraigned on one count of assault occasioning harm. The charge read, "That you, Godwin Okpara, sometime in August 2016, on Oduduwa Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, unlawfully assaulted and injured one Linda Oladoyinbo, by flogging her with a stick and other weapons, thereby committing an offence punishable under Section 173, Ch C.17, Vol.3 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015." The defendant pleaded not guilty and elected summary trial. His defence counsel, Malachi Odo, asked for his bail in liberal terms. He said, "The defendant is an ex-player of the Super Eagles. He served his country honourably. We pray the court to grant him bail in liberal terms." The police prosecutor, Simon Imohwa, did not oppose the bail application. The magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo, in a ruling on Friday, described the applications as misconceived and lacking in merit. | A Third-class Graduate Now "Turning Down" Job Offers From Multinationals Posted: 10 Nov 2017 03:12 AM PST  by Yomi Owolabi I give this testimony to the glory of God and to the shame of the devil. At the end of my university education; through its ups and downs, bitter and sweet moments, I eventually graduated with a third-class degree in computer science.At that point in my life I was overly disappointed, highly discouraged and even suicidal on my bad days because I knew what was happening in the labour market. Every employer wanted graduates with second class upper and above for the limited and highly coveted employment slots. And here I was, I didn't even have a 2.2, even if employers wanted to reach out in grace. I had given my life to Christ on campus, and my thirst for God had intensified during this period... To the glory of God, even with my third-class degree, I did not sit at home as I got a job immediately, which is a whole miracle-story on its own. This job came with great exposure and an intense learning curve for me as a fresh graduate and I embraced the job even though the pay was not fantastic. Those of us who were taken by the company were put through a training programme to initiate us into Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing industry. Time went by and I emerged as one of the brightest trainees through the programme. We were soon staffed and placed on projects for multinational companies. After a while, some of my colleagues started filling out applications and searching for bigger opportunities. They would repeatedly forward job links and vacancies to me as I was considered one of the best among my peers. I did not apply for any of those positions as I was always self-defeated because of my third-class university certificate and the devil held it high up in my face all the time. I continued to do my job diligently and also develop myself in my field. On Mother's Day in May 2015, Pastor Nomthi preached about the unmerited grace and favour Moses witnessed in the house of Pharaoh, when there was an order to kill every male child of the Israelites. She said that Moses was not only spared but was raised as a prince. I immediately keyed into this lesson of grace and I was full of faith. I applied for a job someone had recommended me for and I was offered the position on the spot with 100 percent increase with good pension and sumptuous packages. I thought I had seen all. Before the resumption date I was given, I was invited for another job interview with one of the telecom giants in Nigeria. Through the interview process I had to compete with the best of the best and even more experienced applicants. At the end of the interview and test process which lasted several weeks, I came out top as the preferred candidate of all. Now my problem became choosing between the two offers as they were both fantastic and had good prospects. I sought the face of the Lord who had made all these happen, and eventually I had to turn down the Multi-national Telecom Giant's offer. Now I am at my new job and I have even been given opportunities to travel to different countries on projects (I had never travelled out of Nigeria before this job). A month ago, another job offer came through with take-home package closing in on about half a million which I had to turn down after wide consultation and seeking the face of the Lord. I also did not apply for this job; all these opportunities came by recommendation. A third-class graduate now turning down job offers from multinational companies – it can only be God and I am here to give back ALL the praise to HIM alone. LEMU, psc had through a coordinated operation smashed different criminal syndicates who specialized in perpetrating various crimes in the state as follows: 1. ARREST OF NOTORIOUS SARA SUKA (THUGS) RESPONSIBLE FOR SERIES OF RAPE, KIDNAPPING, ARMED ROBBERY AND THUGERRY: Following a complaint reported on 04/10/2017 by one Hauwa Suleiman f 20yrs of Nupawa Ward Bauchi that on the same date at about 2200hrs while on her way home after closing from work on reaching Bauchi Club, four men on Motorcycle abducted her to an uncompleted building along old airport road, robbed her of Gionee handset, and her hand bag containing the sum of N 8000:00 and other valuable items. The suspects also raped her repeatedly. On 04/11/2017 intensified effort by the Command Anti – Kidnapping Unit led to the arrest of the following suspects on in connection with the case: (1) Abbas Usman (aka) Gero the gang leader 18yrs (2) Shamsuddeen Adamu (aka) Duna 18yrs and (3) Gidado Mohammed Yayayi 18yrs all armed on their way to disrupt a wedding ceremony in Bauchi metropolis. Criminal Charms 2.ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT, RECOVERY OF ROBBED MOTOR VEHICLE: On 29/10/2017 at about 1105hrs a team of FSARS Bauchi, based on credible intelligence arrested one DAUDA ZAKARIYYA m 25yrs near Games Villege, Bauchi, in possession of robbed motor vehicle TOYOTA COROLLA LE, red in color with Reg No. GJW 269 AA. The said vehicle was reported robbed by one AMINU BARAZA m of Federal Low-cost Bauchi on 18/04/17. Case under investigation after Which the suspect will be charge to court as soon as possible. 3. DISLODGEMENT OF KIDNAPPERS HIDEOUT AND RECOVERY OF ARMS AND AMMUNITION: - As a proactive measure to tackle the menace of kidnapping in the state, on 18/10/2017 the Command deployed the Anti- Kidnapping Unit to Burra, Lame forest. The hoodlums on sighting the Police team the hoodlums terrorizing the area and the environ engaged them on shootout, the Police successfully overpowered and gunned down the suspected gang leader, one Buba Manu who was involved in the kidnap and killing of three (3) female hostages in Ganjuwa L.G.A in the month of September 2017. Following reported cases of extra-judicial killings of innocent civilians most especially nomadic Fulani at Ganjuwa, Warji, Ningi and Darazo LGA of Bauchi State by a group popularly known as Babeli group. The Command in its effort to bring an end to the menace have so far arrested: 42 suspects, all were charged to court 7 were convicted. while 35 are awaiting trial. ARREST OF KIDNAPPING SUSPECT: On 19/10/2017 at about 1930hrs a team of Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU) based on personnel credible intelligence traced and arrested the following suspects in Ningi L.G.A:- Dalhatu Gambo m 35yrs Ussaini Garba m 27yrs Auwal Garba m 35yrs all of Halimbe village Ningi LGA, the suspects kidnapped one Samaila Haruna m 20yrs of same address, and collected ransom of N160, 000.00k before his release ,the suspects confessed to the crime and are helping police in the investigation. 6. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECTS: On 31/10/2017 at about 2200hrs a case of Armed Robbery was reported at Jitar feeder road Bauchi. On receipt of the report a team of FSARS swung into action, moved to the area and arrested the following suspects. Hamisu Ibrahim m 20yrs and Saidu Haladu m 27yr both suspects freely confessed to the crime and are assisting Police in the investigation. After which they will be charged to court for prosecution. 7. ARREST OF ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT & RECOVERY OF ARMS/OTHER EXHIBITS:- On 04/09/2017 a case of Armed Robbery was reported by one Badaru Yusuf m 30yrs of Magama Gumau, Toro LGA, discreet investigation by FSARS led to the arrest of the following suspects at Narabi village, Toro LGA, Bauchi in connection with the case: Usman Aliyu Aka Kura 30yrs Abdulrasheed Mohammed aka Uwa M 32yrs Najib Lawal aka Clinton m 22yrs Mustapha Haruna aka Shaba dee m 31yrs. EXHIBITS RECOVERED: One locally-made revolver pistol One locally-made revolver gun One live Cartridge One Techno GSM phone One Nokia GSM phone. 8. ARREST OF WANTED ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT RECOVERY OF AMMUNITION:- On 19/10/2017 at about 2200hrs, a team of FSARS traced and arrested one Godwin Goma m 32yrs, aka Junior at Bayan Gari, Bauchi, who is wanted in connection with a case of Armed Robbery. The suspect and his gang robbed one Abdullahi Dauda m of opposite Ramat House GRA, Bauchi, of his vehicle Honda accord 2001 model Reg. NO.AE-696-BAU and also robbed one Maidawa Misau m of his Mercedes Benz C350, 2007 model at Tafawa Balewa Housing Estate, Bauchi, in the month of July/2016. EXHIBITS RECOVERED INCLUDE: 7 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition Two (2) master keys. Eight ( packets of 225mg tramadol capsule suspected to be hard drugs. The case is under investigation. 9. OBTAINING MONEY BY FALSE PRETENCE AND FALSE PERSONATION: On the 25th October, 2017 at about 2030hrs, operatives attached to State Intelligence Bureau of the Command arrested one Yusuf Bala m of Unguwan Sarakuna Maiduguri road, Bauchi, who fraudulently created a Facebook account pretending to be an Army officer , with a woman named (Fateema Mohammed) and picture in Army uniform and sent a friend request to one Alhaji Yusuf A. Muhammad m of Bauchi State Ministry of health, after accepting the request the suspect introduced a car auction business to the victim, in the process he defrauded him of the sum of N 439,500:00 both in cash and bank deposit. The suspect confessed to the crime and is assisting the police in investigation. 10. HOUSE BREAKING, ARMED ROBBERY AND RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY: On the 27/08/2017 at about 0330hrs one Mohammed Kabir m reported that while sleeping in his residence at Baraya quarters along Jos road, Bauchi, four unknown armed men carrying knife and cutlass entered in to his room and stabbed him on his left hand and also carted away his cell phone valued at N29, 000:00. Discreet investigation led to the arrest of the following suspects in connection with the case: 1. Nura M. Ibrahim m 2. Nasiru Dahiru m 3. Peter Okolo m 4. Nafiu Abdullahi m 11. CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY, HOUSE BREAKING AND THEFT: On 03/11/2017 at about 2300hrs operatives of SIB while on surveillance at Bayan gari area of Bauchi arrested one Sadiq Yakubu m and Ahmed Kabiru m all of Wayan makafi area of Jahun in possession of one Bajaj Boxer motorcycle red in colour without registration number discreet investigation revealed that on the same date the two suspects conspired and trespassed into the house of one Nasiru Abubakar at about 1830hrs and stole the aforesaid motorcycle. The case is under investigation. EXHIBIT RECOVERED: One Boxer motorcycle red in colour. The lawsuit filed by Rafael Linares was seeking unspecified damages from the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star. Linares claimed in court documents that he 'sustained personal injuries which caused and will continue to cause pain, discomfort, and physical disability'. He was seeking financial compensation for past and future medical expenses and reimbursement for the repair of his vehicle. The man was taken to the hospital and unable to speak, but he communicated with hand signals. According to Fox News, Wallen was subsequently arrested. She ultimately admitted to police she was an escort and had been hired to have sex with the victim. She told police she shot the victim twice in the back of the head for performing a sex act wrong. The 21-year-old who allegedly displayed little remorse is also accused of robbing the victim. According to court documents: Police received a call on Oct. 24 from the victim's employer. The 36-year-old victim worked from home, and the employer was concerned he hadn't logged in for work in the morning. Police obtained a search warrant to the victim's house and determined credit cards and a handgun were missing from the home. However, there wasn't any sign of forced entry. Police reviewed security footage from the victim's home that showed a young woman coming to the home five different times between Oct. 7 and Oct. 21. Police identified the woman as Marissa E. Wallen, and said it was clear from the footage that Wallen and the victim were having sexual relations. Security footage from Oct. 21 showed the last time Wallen entered the home. She walked in and left a short time later. A check on the victim's credit cards showed 82 charges totalling more than $10,000 was made between Oct. 22 and Nov. 5. Video footage showed Wallen using the victim's credit cards at Macy's and other locations. "Wallen was clearly proud of her life as an escort and even asked us to call one of her clients so that he could post her bail," court documents allege. In a statement in Owerri, Imo State, the INC President, Chilos Godsent, said it was the only way the ruling party could get the votes of the people of the region in the 2019 general elections. According to him, under the APC, the region has been deliberately marginalized. The statement read, "The Igbo National Council INC has long x-rayed the performances of PMB and also the fulfillment of their campaign promises to Southeast region. "The INC is of the view that the PMB-led federal government has abysmally failed the Southeast due to marginalization of the zone by the government. Many who are making money and not paying Tithe because they think they got rich by their efforts also reason like him. But if your eyes can be opened and you see what you are doing to yourself, you will change quickly. Journalist and IT expert, Eniola Idris, has described OAP Freeze as a man lacking in knowledge of the very thing he's fighting. Read his open letter; I don't like to delve into religious affairs, but my spirit keeps telling me to write about it to clarify things. What is Tithe? According to the Holy Bible,which I believe in and have so much regard for, Malachi 3, verse 8-11, has a heading which says DO NOT ROB GOD. Verse 8 says "Will a man rob me? Yet you have robbed me! But now they are hidden from your eyes. You see spiritual things are tangible! Jesus wept over the ignorance of men!!! That's why the Bible says my people perish for lack of knowledge, You see God cannot help you beyond what you know about him. This plaque called Ignorance is what the devil is using to fight people even some believers.Yes I say so!!! You need deep enough knowledge about tithing before delving into it. Let me put it this way. Imagine a security man advising you about your health,what drugs and foods you ought to take to treat ulcer? Does he have enough information on this subject matter? NO he doesn't! You need to see a qualified and experienced medical doctor, else you find yourself in the mortuary! Consider KPMG hiring a professional caterer to audit her clients books? Haven't they taking valium 5? Havent they lost that client? Ofcourse YES. Consider yourself hiring a shoe shinner on the street to develop an application for your business? Havent you failed? | Fashola denies Melaye’s $385 million squandering allegation | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 10 Nov 2017 02:09 AM PST  Melaye had alleged that the power ministry diverted $35 million to the Afam fast power project without the approval of the national assembly. He also said a sum of $350 million raised from a $1 billion Eurobond was spent by the ministry in 2013. But Fashola in a statement said He said, "Before perception becomes reality, I feel compelled to make this Statement in response to allegations bordering on financial impropriety raised on the Floor of the Senate against the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing, my Office as Minister, the staff of the Ministry and by extension my person. "They offered to do this by providing Nigeria with mobile turbines of 600MW if we could find a location with Gas and Transmission evacuation infrastructure. The Afam Power Station fitted because it had transmission and evacuation facilities but all its turbines had been virtually run down. The investment was contingent on paying $27,990,000 million which was 15% of 8 (eight) units of 30MW turbines each totaling 240MW valued at about $186,600,000:00 and this payment of $27.9m was made without breaching any law". He also said investors do not require Parliamentary approval to invest in Nigeria. "Investors to the best of my knowledge do not require Parliamentary approval to invest in our Country. Some of these roads have been constructed in the past but the project was done half way and abandoned. After she was taken to the hospital and had some tests run on her, the results to HIV test came out Positive.
