The EFCC Lagos Zonal office, have arrested four suspected Internet fraudsters. They are: Oluwaseun Michael, 28; Igbokwe Chijioke, 27; Felix Chukwudi, 22 and Babajide Goloba. They were arrested in parts of Lagos, following intelligence report received by the Commission. They are said to have defrauded their victims of millions of Dollars. The suspects, who are school drop-outs, have confessed to have been involved in romance/marriage scam, Internet advertisement scam, spoofing of emails and interception of business mails. They also confessed to be working as couriers for movement of stolen funds by other cyber-criminals. They own companies with no fixed addresses, which they used to cover up the sources of their cash.  Some items recovered from the suspects at the time of their arrest include laptops, handsets, phishing scripts, among others. | Single Mother Brutally Stabbed By Her Boyfriend, Leading To Her Death Posted: 07 Oct 2017 03:23 AM PDT  A young woman has been stabbed in her eyes, throat and forehead right in front of her daughter by her on-off boyfriend. A court has heard that Katrina Evemy was brutally slaughtered after he found out she kissed someone else. She was stabbed in the neck, eyes, forehead and torso in the horrifying attack in South Wales. According to The Sun UK, her former boyfriend Dylan Harries is accused of murdering her but claims he found her on the floor on April 13 after she had been attacked. The court heard he took an 8cm blade from his house and confronted the 19-year-old after finding out she had kissed another man. The prosecution alleges the 22-year-old man stabbed Katrina as her young daughter watched and became spattered in her mother's blood. She went into cardiac arrest but was resuscitated by medics before being rushed to hospital. She had separate, traumatic bleeding on the brain and a skull fracture which could have been cause by a blow to the head or by her hitting her head on something. Dr John Gorst, a consultant in intensive care, told the jury Katrina was taken into emergency surgery to repair the "life-threatening" liver and neck injuries, which were still bleeding, he said. He said Katrina's condition deteriorated and on April 19 brainstem tests confirmed that she had died. Pathologist Dr Stephen Leadbeatter, who carried out the post-mortem examination, said he noted injuries to Katrina 's head, eyes, face, neck, chest, abdomen, thigh, arm, hands and back. "The wound in each eyelid was in my view a stab wound to each eye and there had been some damage to the optic nerve on the left," he said. Dr Leadbeatter said he found four "punctuate" injuries on Katrina's forehead which had the "appearance of a stab from a point". The court previously heard Harries went to Katrina's house at around 5pm carrying a knife. Patrick Harrington QC, for the prosecution, said Harries could be seen on the CCTV "adjusting the knife" in his hand as he walked to her house. Mr Harrington added that Harries stayed in the house for 40 to 45 minutes, before raising the alarm with neighbours and claiming Katrina was attacked before he arrived. Mr Harrington said: "He still maintains a pretence that he was not responsible for her injuries but that he had happened upon her lying dying on the kitchen floor having been attacked by some unknown person. "This is all a lie, he was the person responsible for the attack upon Katrina." Harries denies the charge. | Man Sleeps On The Floor Of A Bank Over N5,000 In Abuja Posted: 07 Oct 2017 02:53 AM PDT  It was gathered that the man who was aggrieved was ready to take his money home and did not seem to care about the people standing by and watching as he kept talking to the people who had the patience to listen, airing his grouses with the bank... The man said he had not eaten since the time he set foot in the bank. He explained to people watching that he hustled hard to keep the money in his account. To his surprise, the bank officials said the account was blocked for some unknown reason. This made the man lay on the floor and refused to get up. He kept asking why the bank did not close his account before he deposited money into it. | 6 Ways Following Jesus Helps Us Do Good In The World Posted: 07 Oct 2017 02:23 AM PDT  There are only three chapters in this book, and in the final one, Paul starts with a strong statement: "Be ready to do whatever is good." This command is nestled in between reminders to submit to authority and to not slander, placed right in the middle of instructions on how to live as a Christian in a society that tends to operate very differently. It's a striking statement, yet one that might be easily glossed over. David Mathis recently wrote an article for Desiring God called "Enjoying God Fuels Doing Good" and he said this short and simple verse made his heart swell. He writes that "doing good to others isn't icing on the cake of Christianity. It's an essential ingredient." He goes on to add that "genuinely doing others good doesn't happen by human strength alone. Mere willpower will never be the answer." So, what does it look like to be ready to do whatever is good? How we can we be instruments of God's love and peace and kindness to those around us in the chaotic world we live in? Here are a few thoughts to keep in mind: 1. Strive for humility. Titus 3:1-2 can be best summed up by one word: humility. While the words "submission" and "obedience" and "courtesy" might seem stuffy and antiquated, they in fact demonstrate to us a humble and surrendered posture that is incredibly Christlike. "How we orient on the world around us has a part to play in our readiness to do others good," Mathis writes. 2. "Renounce sinful passions." Mathis says that "Titus 2 makes plain that we will not be ready to do others good if we do not renounce sinful passions. Personal holiness matters in the pursuit of love." We must fight against our own sinful tendencies as we also work to love others well — the best overflow comes from hearts that are turning away from sin and toward Christ's love and mercy. 3. Let the Spirit lead. Often, our schedules are jam packed and our minds are distracted by our to-do lists, but we need to leave room for the Spirit to move and work in our lives. "That may include leaving enough margin in your schedule to be able to meet unexpected needs, or carrying paper money to give on the spot to someone in need, or setting aside funds for personal ministry in your monthly budget," suggests Mathis. 4. "Delight yourself in God." In the first chapter of Titus, Paul warns against being the kind of people whose mouths profess knowledge of God yet whose actions deny him. "Going deep with God is vital in being ready to do others good," Mathis writes. Spend ample time in Scripture, soaking up his truth and studying his promises — the Word will equip you to do the work. 5. Remember our own salvation came through Christ. As we seek to serve and love others, it can be tempting to put ourselves on a pedestal or think too highly of ourselves. We must remember, though, that "we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by others and hating one another" like we read in Titus 3:3. Yikes. "We know what it's like to be unbelieving and stuck in our unbelief, apart from God," Mathis says. "We did not save ourselves." Remembering that Jesus alone saved us through his death and resurrection reminds us that he alone is Savior of our lives and the lives of others. 6. Know and enjoy God. "When we truly go deep with God," Mathis writes, "we become the kind of people who are ready to give ourselves to good works." Start with spending time with God in his Word and through prayer, and let your actions and service flow from there. The Lord will fuel your good works. Abide in him, the true Vine, and see the fruit come from that intimate and rich relationship. Being ready to do good will take effort, heart, intentionality, and true commitment, but it's a beautiful, essential part of the Christian life. Others will see Christ in us as we seek God first and then step out in love and service for our neighbors, our community, and our world. The second time I met Evans was when policemen took me from their cell to an unknown place in Lagos, because I was blindfolded. I could not see where they were taking me to. "They asked me how many times I worked for Evans and I said two times, and that I turned him down the third time that he asked me to do another job. "He drove (rode) towards Mile 2 area. Evans called me and asked where we were and I told him. But he asked me to go home; that I had done well. "When we reached Alakija, I told him and he said I should not worry myself; that he had told others to allow me to go to my house. When he called again, he asked me to send my bank account number to him. I sent my First Bank account number to him and he wired the sum of N2 million to my account. I was surprised. "The second time, it was the same process as he already had my bank account number. He sent me the sum of N700,000. "When he called me for the third job, I told him that I was not interested, because I started sensing some errors in the business, like getting afraid for the kind of money he was giving me. Their family and guest were stunned when they saw the bride 'intimately' with another man. According to Mirror, the video began with the bride and groom's relationship but suddenly, there was a clip of the bride with a man going into a hotel room and afterwards had inter-course in the room. The groom, a wealthy businessman, hired private detective to trail his wife-to-be few weeks before their wedding. Perhaps, he had suspected that she was going to be an adulterous wife. After the video was played, the humiliated bride is said to have run out of the wedding hall. The story became viral after the secret detective hired by the groom, Miss Zhuo granted an interview with a Singaporean media on the issue. She said she expected the groom to call off the wedding but she was amazed when she received an IV to their wedding. She said she spent six weeks monitoring the fiancée before reporting back to him. He made this revelation while delivering a speech at the opening panel of the Dialogue of Civilizations, Multipolarity and Dialogue in Regional and Global Developments,' Rhodes Forum's 15th Anniversary Summit in Greece on Friday. He said; "When I was in office as President, I championed the cause for good governance, transparent elections and peaceful power transfers, because I also believed that at the heart of the dialogue for a more peaceful world, is the need to cultivate a culture of democracy and good governance at the national levels. This is a good way to reduce local tensions that could blossom into global crisis. In Nigeria, through a process of dialogue, we arrived at an amnesty programme that brought an end to the crisis in the Niger Delta, an oil-rich region in my country that accounts for all the oil wells that remain the mainstay of Nigeria's economy. Sometime in 2014, I had a thought in my mind. Nigeria is easily the most ethnically and religiously heterogeneous society in Africa, and one of the most diverse nations in the world. Many times, these different ethnic groups are pulling in diverse directions that as a leader, you may experience genuine fears that the centre may not hold. At that time, I asked myself, how can I as President, help build a more harmonious union in Nigeria. One based on the words of our National Anthem which ends with 'to build a nation where peace and justice shall reign'. To address this I convened a National Conference where the various ethnic groups and other stakeholders deliberated for five months on the future of the country. They had the mandate to discuss and advise the Government on all matters pertaining to our nationhood, except the sovereignty of the country. On Thursday, August 21, 2014, I received the report. Our general elections came up six months after the national conference. The confidence and national goodwill the conference inspired, helped bring down the tension during and after the general elections. It was a confidence-boosting outcome, despite the predictions by some international bodies that Nigeria was going to disintegrate in 2015."
