Dear Men, Things To Stay Away From To Escape Impotence

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 03:51 AM PDT

From findings, one of men's worst s*xual problems is impotence... It is a type of s*xual dysfunction characterised by the inability to develop or maintain an ere-ction firm enough for inter-course.

Beyond the fact that it reduces man's self esteem, it impairs his ability to have s*xual intercourse and more importantly, it also reduces the likelihood of being able to impregnate a woman.

But the good news is that it is curable.

However, given the serious impact it has on the s*xual wellness of a man, it is important to point out that there are certain habits that fuel this dysfunction, and these include:

Diet: It should first be noted that the turgidity of the p*nis is dependent on blood flow and so it is only helpful when people eat the food that would aid blood flow in their system. WebMD, a website that provides valuable health information and tools for managing health, pointed out that the kind of diet or eating pattern that could cause heart attack due to restricted blood flow would also obstruct the flow of blood to the penis, especially when blood flow is needed for the p*nis to be erect. Therefore, to avoid impotence, men are advised to take fruits, vegetables, fish, red wine, whole grains and heart-healthy fats like nuts. "Anything that is bad for a man's heart is also bad for his p*nis," an associate professor of clinical urology, Andrew McCullough, said.

Obesity: Another factor that can cause impotence is obesity. According to WebMD, overweight is a risk factor for diabetes, which could cause nerve damage in some parts of the body. However, if one of the nerves that have links with the penis is damaged, it could affect the sensitivity of the p*nis, resulting in erectile dysfunction. Also, diabetes has been found to be one of the endocrine diseases that impede blood flow and that can also affect blood flow to the p*nis. Also, people that are obese tend to have high level of visceral fat which has been linked to lower testosterone.

Lack of exercise: Exercise has been found to add great benefits to the body, including increased blood circulation in the body. In fact, exercise has been found to boost libido due to the increased blood flow. On the other hand, inactive or deskbound lifestyle has been found to cause ere-ctile dysfunction. However, people are also advised to be cautious of the kind of exercise they engage in and this is because any form of exercise, like cycling, that puts enormous pressure on the area between the scro-tum and anus could affect the nerves and vessels that have links with the p*nis, leading to erectile dysfunction.

Smoking: Previous studies have shown that there are many disadvantages of smoking to the body and in this case, it transcends its negative impact on the lungs to include its enormous impact on the functionality of the p*nis. Specifically, WebMD pointed out that smoking could harm blood vessels and reduce the flow of blood to the penis. Furthermore, it was found that nicotine, one of the substances in tobacco, could make the blood vessels to contract and in the long run, contract the flow of blood to the p*nis. An assistant professor of urology and co-founder of the cardiovascular and sexual health clinic at Yale University, Charles Walker, told Healthline that smoking could damage the lining of the blood vessels, which affects the smooth muscle in the p*nis and inhibits blood from flowing in. Everyone knows smoking is bad for your health, but most people don't realise there is a direct relationship between cigarette smoking and erectile dysfunction," he added.

Penile injury: For such a sensitive and important organ, one could be tempted to think that no harm could come to the p*nis, especially with its location, but there have been incidents of people sustaining penile injury, whether due to rough and uncontrolled s*xual activity or injuries sustained from accident. However, injury to the penis has been found to affect its sensitivity. Also, certain injuries to the nerves and arteries in the urethra could result in ere-ctile dysfunction. A specialist in erectile dysfunction, Dr. Irwin Goldstein, told Everyday Health that the main artery to the penis, which supplies the blood needed for erections, is connected to the pelvic bone, thus, extreme force in the pelvic bone region could crush the artery and in effect, lead to ere-ctile dysfunction.

Oral hygiene: This may appear shocking to many, especially when there doesn't seem to be any link between the teeth and the penis. But according to recent studies, men with gum disease tend to battle with erectile dysfunction. On the other hand, men with erectile dysfunction tend to have gum disease. As it turned out, the researchers told Men's Health that as the tooth decays, the immune system attacks pathogens in the mouth and then bacteria in the mouth could find their way into the bloodstream, clog blood vessels, including those in the penis. This affects blood flow to the p*nis and this can lead to ere-ctile dysfunction. However, the way out is to maintain oral hygiene, by brushing the teeth twice daily and flossing regularly.

Stress: This factor sounds like a common issue and many people are familiar with the causes and effects. However, stress had also been found to trigger the secretion of adrenaline hormone, which makes the blood vessels to contract. Thus, reducing anxiety, depression and worries helps blood flow considerably.

Drug abuse: The effect of drug abuse is widespread, but not many would know that the use of certain drugs could impair their s*xual functionality or even kill their ability to get aroused. Hence, people are advised to consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking any drug, more so that the drug effect is usually a side effect. And the said drugs include the ones men take to boost their performance or treat erectile dysfunction.

Try consult a doctor before using drugs you are not familiar with.

I Started Snatching Cars 4 Years after I Lost My Job –Suspect

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 03:51 AM PDT

For the last one year, a gang led by one Ochuko Awusa and Gabriel Ibia has been terrorising and robbing motorists at gunpoint in Kaduna State and its environs.

According to the Inspector General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team, which was saddled with tracking down the gang, the suspects dispossessed motorists of their vehicles, which they sold off in Jos, Plateau State.

Their mode of operation revealed...

IRT's investigation revealed that the gang robbed their victims with a locally-made gun.

A member of the gang, said to be the contact man, Jethro Jammal, connected the gang to the receiver of their stolen goods in Jos.

After an investigation that culminated in a raid, all the members of the gang were arrested by operatives of the IRT.

Thirty-six-year-old Awusa, is a native of Delta State and graduate of Accountancy from the Federal Polytechnic, Bida, Niger State.

In his statement, Awusa went into the details of his journey into crime.

According to him, he graduated from polytechnic in 2007 and went to work for a popular eatery in Kaduna State where he was paid N52,000 monthly as store keeper.

He said, "I worked there for one year and left when I got another job at an advertising company in Abuja as a marketer.

"I earned N175,000 monthly and I worked with the company for two years and six months before I was sacked in 2013.

"I could not secure another good job and decided to go into crime four years after in February 2017.

"I started with one of my friends known as Gabriel, who also lost his job and our first operation was on the Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway, Kaduna State, where we collected a Honda Pilot SUV from its owner after he ran into a ditch during a downpour at the Federal Cooperative College end of the expressway."

According to Awusa, when he and his friend saw the owner of the vehicle making frantic efforts to pull the vehicle out of the ditch, they approached and offered to help him.

But once they gained access into the vehicle, they zoomed off.

He said, "I drove the vehicle to Jos and I called one of my friends who resided there, Jammal and told him about a vehicle I had for sale.

"He took me to one Bala, who claimed he had links to people who buy stolen vehicles. I was paid N300,000 for the vehicle. I gave Bala and Jethro N80,000 to share, then gave Gabriel, who stole the vehicle with me N50,000. I kept the rest."

Awusa said in their second operation in March 2017, they robbed a woman in Kaduna State along the Tafawa Balewa Way while she was withdrawing money from an ATM.

According to him, they waited for her from a distance and pounced on her as she attempted to enter her car.

They robbed her of her money and zoomed off in her car.

Awusa said, "The car was a Toyota Corolla and we didn't sell it because Balla who bought the Honda Pilot SUV cheated us too much.

"We kept the Corolla and drove it around for a few hours because we knew that there would be no police checking point on the road.

"We were also looking for money to change the plate number and procure new vehicle papers. We did not do any other job until August 2017, when Jethro called me and said he was broke.

"He said he needed money and that he had a locally-made gun and two boys – Gerald Naboth and Simon Brown – who could join our operation."

According to Punch, on their third operation, the gang robbed a drunk man of his Peugeot 406.

Awusa said they found the man drunk and vomiting. They then took his wallet which had N6,000 in it and sped off in his car.

The car was taken to Abuja where it was sold to a man who had reputation of buying stolen cars.

"He said that he did not buy stolen cars but that he would link me to someone who could buy the stolen cars. I did not know that the person he was linking me to was a policeman. I was arrested eventually and then led the police in arresting five members of my gang.

"This operation was supposed to be my last operation because I had decided to relocate to Delta State, where I had secured a job as a teacher in a secondary school. I have decided to be a changed person."

Ibia on the other hand, is a 27-year-old Benue State indigene, who claimed to have become a criminal "by accident."

He said in his statement that he was working at a bakery and that he met Awusa at a bakers' conference in Kaduna.

He said, "We became friends and discussed how much it would cost to start a bakery. Later, there was a time we attended a party at the Cooperative College, Kaduna. We saw a man outside, who had a problem with his car and was helpless, his vehicle was inside a gutter. We decided to steal the man's vehicle.

"That was why I said I came into crime unknowingly. I did not follow them to the last operation, but the vehicle we got from the second operation was with me. We had planned to use it for a taxi around Kaduna and we were looking for money to change the papers. But I abandoned the vehicle at a checkpoint at Marabarido area of Kaduna and ran away when I saw policemen.

"After I was arrested, I took policemen, who arrested me to the place where I abandoned the vehicle and we couldn't find it. I regret getting myself into crime. I have even got another job in a bakery in Kachia Local Government. That was where I was arrested."

Also arrested in the raid was Naboth, 25, who graduated in 2009.

He said Jethro got him involved in the crime after he complained to him that his wife was pregnant and was about putting to bed.

He said he needed money to take care of his unborn child.

One of the members of the gang, a food vendor, Bala Mamah, a 37-year-old Plateau resident, said he got involved through temptation.

Lady Kills Her Uncle In Enugu While Trying To R*pe Her

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 03:51 AM PDT

A 22-year-old young lady, identified as Tina Rebecca Sunday, has allegedly killed her uncle in Enugu for making love advances to her.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Ebere Amaraizu said that Miss Sunday, who hails from Ikot Udobang Ukanafon area of Akwa Ibom State, was living with the deceased uncle at Ezilo Street, Independence Layout, Enugu until last Thursdsy when the ugly incident happened.

According Amaraizu, the girl claimed that her uncle, Friday Matthew, who was about 48 years old was fond of making s*xual advances to her which she never liked.

He said the girl disclosed that on the fateful day at about 8:30pm she was lying down as she was expecting the deceased 10-year-old son, Thankgod Friday, whom she had sent to go and buy sugar for her to return, when her uncle thought that she was sleeping and tried to have carnal knowledge of her.

He said that the action of the girl's uncle made her to wake up forcefully and in a bid to resist the uncle she kicked him on his scrotum which angered the deceased and made him become violent.

Amaraizu said that as the deceased was struggling with the girl, she headed for a stone near the door which she used in hitting his cheek.

"The suspect further disclosed that following the hit of the stone on the cheek of the uncle, he fell down and became unconscious and later died," he said.

The PPRO said that the girl claimed that "it was not my intention to kill him as I never intended to do so although, he has disturbed me s*xually several times."

Amaraizu said that shortly the child of the deceased came back and met the lifeless body of his father and the suspect ordered him not to shout so as not to attract attention and her eventual arrest, promising to take care of the young boy.

"She immediately locked up the house and went away with the boy and dropped him at one of their aunt's place and disappeared," he said, adding that "when the police operatives of the New Haven Division command got the report, they swung into action swiftly and was able to arrest the escaping lady who is now helping the operatives in their investigations."

He said that "the suspect is now regretting her action and begging the police to forgive her as she never intended to kill the uncle."

Why Did We Allow These Artistes 'Blow' In The First Place? | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 03:48 AM PDT

For some people, it takes years to hit the spotlight, for others, lesser time.

This list is made up of artistes who hit the spotlight in no time due to one fortunate incident or another and, are today making us question our sanity as to their chameleon-like sound inability to make subsequent good music or, their outright MIA move.

For this list, we included artistes who are privileged to have recorded some hits, yet make us cringe whenever they announce new song release, and acts who won us over with their first or second records, but remain stagnant like a smelly puddle of contaminated water that refuses to dry up.

In no particular order, here are the artistes that are making us wonder why we allowed to 'blow' in the first place.

KCEE

Yes, no doubt about it, he has gotten several charts success but somehow managed to find a spot on this list due to the mediocrity of his songs. Kcee manages to sound less unintelligent for every record released with cringe-worthy quotes and mumbo-jumbo catch phrases that make us wonder why we ever allowed him a place in our phones and head.

Sugarboy

Hola Hola boy, watchu doing! When this young man first hit our airwaves, we thought, 'hey, here is one who would never do wrong,' if only we'd known. Since the release of his one hit record, Sugarboy has struggled to keep his name and head above waters even allegedly stooping low to being tagged a 'thief' with the song 'KILAMITY, all to no avail. Despite the level of vigor unleashed upon bursting unto the scene, Sugarboy has without so much resistance joined the array of braggadocios acts the music industry is fervently working to be rid off, but....here we are. Dear Sugarboy, hasten up, we about to leave your corner, do something now!

Dammy Krane

Irregardless of his annoyingly repulsive credit card/identity fraud 'izzues', Dammy Krane is one fine artiste. He has, during his haydays given us records that although were sometimes offensive and vulgar, he did come through. However, he has managed to create a well of doubt in our hearts with his ebbing career. I mean, it's okay to take a break or even a step back to reinforce, but absolutely nothing is cool with retiring completely and trying for a comeback with felonies and lame accusations, it's just not cool. Dammy, you are like a painful boil gradually seeping pus, you want to be this? fine...just make sure you are that type of boil that heals but leaves a beautiful mark.

Joe EL

I mean, there is no other definition for reaching your lowest low in music other than starting to sing about food, like seriously Yamarita, boo !!!? Joe El sums this list up, truth be told. He is the reason we should never ever allow anyone, the celebrity status, until they prove themselves on every Why possible, TV, radio, street, social media, speaking, writing, just about every bloody thing.

Sean Tizzle

It breaks my heart that Sean has to be included in this list, but hey, it is what it is. Y'all remember how bright the fire Sean was brandishing at the start of his career right? Yeah, that fire....somewhere along the line, not only did it burn out, it burnt off his persona and probably his skin? With just 4-years under his belt in the industry, Sean seems to have disappeared off of the face of music earth, struggling to be heard amongst a crowd he once had massive control over and reducing some of us into an emotional wreck whenever we come across any of his old materials.

He reminds us of the honeymoon season in every new relationship that does not last. We don't want this of Sean, he is way too talented, fight baby, fight! We gat you, we just need you to fight!

Twin Sisters Go Missing; mother cries out to police boss

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 03:21 AM PDT

A devastated woman, Mrs. Vivian Ogechi Nwanebu, whose twin daughters, Treasure and Favour, got missing on October 20, has cried out to the Imo state commissioner of police, Chris Ezike, to help her find the missing girls.

Nwanebu, a midwife from Umuazalaukwu, Atta in Ikeduru local government of the state, said that the sudden disappearance of her twins has brought untold trauma to her household.

Describing her missing daughters, she said;
"They are 10 years old, dark in complexion and 4.6 feet tall and I have not seen them since October 20, 2017."

She recalled that she was shocked when she returned home and was informed that her twin daughters had escaped to unknown destination.

According to her, "When I came back home, I asked for Treasure and Favour to give them what I bought for them, I shouted their names several times and they did not answer.

That was when their elderl siblings came to me and told me the ugly story of how they ran away from the house. They said two elderly men came to the house and ordered them to follow them. I was told that my children pleaded to go inside the house to pick something and from the window, both of them jumped out and ran away."

She said that the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of her daughters were unfortunate, even as she beckoned on the police to come to rescue.

"I am begging the commissioner of police to come to my rescue. This situation is killing me. I don't understand how my twin daughters who I left in good health in the morning are now missing. I want to see my daughters again. I want the CP to help me. Something tells me that my daughters are alive," she said.

"Women Are All Over Me... Why I'm Still Single" – Iyanya

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 03:21 AM PDT

Sing Iyanya is blessed with a physique most women drool over. He knows this perhaps, little wonder he pulls off his shirt on stage and winds his waist during performance.

But even as most people may think he showcases his s*xual appeal to swoon the ladies, the artiste told Saturday beats he does that just for entertainment purposes.

The Kukere exponent who spoke on his love life said that although he is single at the moment with no hopes of getting hooked to a lady any time soon, he is running from women.

"How do I miss the attention of women when I am running away from them? Check me out, even without music, you think I would not get girls? Girls are not an issue, they flock around me and it is even happening as I speak with you. I am not in love with anybody at the moment because I am focused on a lot of things. When the time comes, nobody would know."

Apparently referring to the relationship that was rumoured that he had with Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson, Iyanya said he would certainly keep his relationship off prying eyes.

"When I fall in love again, I am definitely not going to inform the press and the reason is simple, anytime I step out to tell the world that this is my girlfriend, I end up losing the girl. Over the years, I have learnt to keep it to myself. I would show the world my videos and shows but not my girlfriend. I would not show the world when we are kissing. I have learnt from my past mistakes," he said.

Aside from his love life, so many would also think the singer's fame is dwindling. But Iyanya said that he is not bothered by what others think of him.

"I feel nothing when people say I am not the Iyanya they used to know because everything is in their head. What you think about me is not what is happening in my world and you think such because of what you see or hear. I am fine, I am blessed and I am still touring the world. I am happy. So, if you are over there thinking that Iyanya is not who he used to be, then that is your thought and has nothing to do with me."

He continued, "Everything about me is still happening on a high level; don't judge me based on what I post on social media. I am blessed and it is for life. You cannot judge me based on what you see me post. I show you only what I want you to see, it does not mean that my life depends on the pictures or videos that I post. This is a social media world where people judge you based on what they see on your social media pages.

"That is not my life; it is only what I show people. I have a life that is different from what I post, so no one can generalise my being just by looking at pictures. People would have different opinions about my music but as an entertainer, I have to be versatile..."

Iyanya is seriously being versatile, as he was once seen on a movie set.

Update | How minister begged EFCC operative to spare Maina

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 03:21 AM PDT

The row over the activities of the former Chairman of the Presidential task force on pension reforms, Mr. Abdulrasheed Abdullahi Maina, has deepened with fresh facts emerging that a minister begged a detective working with the EFCC to spare the suspect.

There are indications that the minister played a vital role in the Maina saga. But what?

Security agencies were also said to be probing allegation that Maina has a Nigerien passport, following an alert that he was smuggled out of the country through Niger Republic.

Investigation revealed that the controversy surrounding the reinstatement of Maina suggested complicity by many government officials and top security agents.

It was learnt that President Muhammadu Buhari would have to be "more painstaking" to be able to tackle the scandal now tagged MainaGate in some quarters.

A top source said: "President Muhammadu Buhari needs a comprehensive appraisal of the circumstances surrounding the reinstatement of Maina. A syndicate in the government was behind the whole saga.

"For instance, a minister had met with an EFCC operative, who was coordinating the investigation of Maina, to spare the suspect. This was done before the minister was inaugurated as a FEC member.

"The said minister specifically demanded that Maina's case be closed and the suspect should be used as a prosecution witness. He said Maina would make vital documents available to assist the EFCC.

"The said session was held at the private office of the minister in Garki part of Abuja. But the operative, who was shocked by the plea, refused to cooperate with the minister.

"If the government digs well, the operative (who has left the services of EFCC) can be recalled to give evidence on how and where the minister met him."

The source said apart from the minister, Maina was even closer to a former First Lady who did everything she could to protect him.

And when the EFCC probe was intense on Maina, the ex-First Lady was said to have prevailed on "the stubborn detective" to stop the investigation.

The source added: "Also, a former First Lady had tried to influence the EFCC on the investigation of Maina by mounting pressure on the same detective. This happened when CP Ibrahim Lamorde was the chairman of EFCC.

"When the operative was adamant, the ex-First Lady allegedly engineered a petition against the operative by claiming that he collected N50 million from Maina.

"The EFCC and other agencies investigated the bribery allegation and absolved the operative of any infraction.

Findings however confirmed that Maina had been around the corridors of power in the last 23 years.

Another source said: "Maina is not new to the corridors of power. He had wielded influence in Aso Rock since the dictatorial regime of the late Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha.

"He knows every nook and cranny of Aso Rock, so he is used to floating in the seat of power, even during the administrations of ex-Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar and ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo before he was cut to size when Obasanjo was in charge.

"Some forces in power also have been using him for a purpose which suited their interest. There is no security agency or the police hierarchy where he does not have contacts.

"Everybody is denying Maina now, but he is a public officer who knows many people. He also keeps records of those who have benefitted from him."

At press time, there were indications that Maina has a Nigerien passport.

It was gathered that he re-entered the country from exile in Dubai through Niger Republic.

A third source said: "There is no record of his return to the country at any airport in Nigeria. Security agencies are looking at some clues which pointed to the fact that he might have used Niger Republic to come back home.

"He is used to Niger Republic's routes for escapades. He was said to have been smuggled out again to an unknown destination through one of the same routes."

Family sources told one of our correspondents yesterday that Maina's family had concluded plans to drag the (EFCC) to court for harassing their son

EFCC operatives in Kaduna had on Monday and Tuesday sealed six houses, including a two-storey office complex belonging to Maina, within the Kaduna metropolis.

The family had also addressed a press conference where they cried out that their son was only being persecuted by corrupt elements in President Muhammadu Buhari's government, threatening that Maina would soon open a can of worms capable of nailing the cabals in his pursuit.

Spokesman of the Maina family, Malam Aliyu Maina, who addressed newsmen on behalf of the family said that the marking of the houses they inherited from their father in Kaduna by EFCC was not only wrong but illegal.

Speaking with one of our correspondents in a telephone interview yesterday, Maina family's lawyer, Sani Katu, said the family had concluded plans to sue the anti-graft agency over the recent development.

He disclosed that filing of the court papers process had since commenced and would be made public as soon as the case is filed in court.

According to him, "we have commenced the process of filing the case, and as soon as we are filing the case in court, we will let the press know. That is the update for now."

Meanwhile, the Kaduna zone of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) said investigation was still ongoing to discover more of Maina's properties.

An official of the commission in Kaduna, Ibrahim Kamilu, told The Nation that "we are still carrying out our investigation, and once more of his properties are discovered, they will be sealed."

Pregnant Lady who made First Class in Lagos Uni opens up... she wrote JAMB 7 times

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 02:51 AM PDT

Mrs. Orefuwa Elizabeth emerged as the best graduate of Lagos State University in the 2015/2016 academic session. She made 4.74 CGPA from the Department of Accounting Education. It became a moment of joy for her as she was delivered of her baby a day after the convocation.

In this interview with Punch's Tunde Ajaja, she opens up on how she combined her academics with the home front as a wife and other issues:

We learnt you took UTME seven times, what would you attribute that delay to?
'All things work together for good to them that trust in the Lord'. Actually, it wasn't what I wanted for myself but it just happened like that. Taking same exam seven times consecutively was killing, de-motivating and annoying, coupled with the fact that I met the required cut off mark each time I took the exam. It might have been destiny but I later found out that my West African Examination Council certificate was carrying my initials instead of my full name. This was brought to light after the last Post-UTME I took at Ekiti State University. Although I scored a very good grade, I was denied the admission because of the initial on my WAEC certificate instead of my full name, so I just felt this might have been the cause of the delay or maybe God's plan.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up while taking same exam year in year out?
Yes, after the sixth attempt, I told myself that I wasn't going to purchase any of UTME or Direct Entry forms again, but I thank God for my elder sister, Esther, who took it upon herself to purchase both forms for me and even bought the Post-UTME form that actually turned my life around for good. I learnt never to give up again.

What kept you going at that time?
Well, I would say my father's passion for education (old soldier never die), self-belief, determination, moral support from my family and above all God because He gave me the strength to carry on.

Between 2005 and 2012 when you were home taking UTME, did you venture into other things?
No one advised me to look for alternatives but I sourced for an alternative myself by starting my professional career of becoming a chartered accountant. It was my dream to be a chartered accountant, so I took up the challenge in 2007 to register with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) instead of just sitting at home waiting for admission. All thanks to my elder brother, Dr. Samuel Orefuwa. I became a qualified chartered accountant, an associate member, in 2010 before gaining admission in 2012.

So the delay you encountered prompted you to make a decision to work towards leading your set?
Initially, it wasn't. Mine was just to do the very best I could and come out with a good grade but my first semester result in my first year made me realise the real me and what I'm capable of. That was when I started having first class. It gave me the self motivation needed to forge ahead with the strong determination of coming out as the best in my faculty. It never crossed my mind that I wouldn't make first class.

Was Accounting Education the same course you had always wanted or you changed your mind along the way? I have always wanted to study Accounting major but during that time, there wasn't accounting major in my school so I applied for Accounting Education. And I have no regret because I have always had passion for accounting and I love teaching.

Some people still look down on students in education faculty, how did that make you feel, or you never experienced such?
Exactly, even the so-called learned persons think studying education is a waste of time. Without teachers, what will the society look like? If the teacher that would teach their children to become doctors, lawyers, accountants, engineers and other prestigious disciplines are not well equipped, then what would the future of the country be? I have experienced it several times, even from a pastor who said 'why education?' The truth is that I'm proud to be an educationist, no regret. Faculty of Education is the mother of all faculties and a nation without education is doomed.

How easy was it to have first class, especially as a married woman?
I didn't get married before or immediately after gaining admission, I got married while in the first semester of my fourth year. Even at that, it wasn't easy because I needed to adjust to a new life which almost affected my reading schedule but for the understanding husband God gave me. He understood and also wanted the best for me, so he gave me the support I needed and my CGPA improved from 4.72 to 4.73. After all, marriage didn't make my CGPA to drop (laughs). Of course, being a student and performing my duties as a wife wasn't very easy but I thank God for the grace He bestowed on me.

Did you ever know you could lead your class?
Well, I would say I didn't see it coming at first but my course mates used to tell me that I had the highest CGPA, even though I wasn't sure. So I didn't raise my hope. I was just studying hard and maintaining my CGPA each semester. I believe students should avoid side distractions, they should be focused, be determined, self motivated, prepare well for their exam and above all, put God first. That formula worked for me.

Some people would think you must have spent all your free time reading for you to emerge as the best graduate in your set. How many hours did you read in a day?
I didn't have specific number of hours for reading but I made sure that I always went through my notes every day after school. So I read every evening till late in the night and very early in the morning. I wasn't the type to wake up to read in the middle of the night because such didn't work for me.

Were you given to using the library or you always read at home?
I didn't really like using the library. My dad had strong passion for education, so he made sure that we were always provided with all the textbooks we needed. I also made good use of the internet. I prefer reading in the comfort of my room.

Were there times you had to live on the school campus, maybe during exam period, or you lived at home with your husband throughout?
Before I got married and after I got married, I never lived on campus. My parents, especially my mum, preferred it if I was going to school from home.

Understandably, most of your mates would have graduated before you even got admission, how did you feel about that?
Initially I used to feel bad but I later realised that it is not how far but how well and God's time is always the best time. My parents, my siblings and my husband were positive about it and that encouraged me. "God's mills grind slowly but sure."This quote kept me going.

That could have made you to be one of the oldest in your class, how did it feel?
It didn't make me feel different from them but rather made me humble, focused and more committed.

How many of you had first class in your set?
About 29 of us had first class in my set but just two of us from my faculty (my best friend, Oluwatimilehin, and myself). I remember that sometimes we read together.

What was your happiest moment?
My happiest moment was the day I gave birth to my little princess.

You once said your dad insisted on your academic excellence. How did he react when he heard you were the best graduating student?
I didn't show him my results until I took my final exam. So, he didn't know how well I had been performing in school. When I called and told him that I would be graduating as the best in my set, it was the greatest surprise ever.

Do you recall your most embarrassing moment?
Embarrassing moment! I would say the day I met some students that I was lecturing at an ICAN centre in the school and they were asking me if I was in LASU for my Master's. Thank God it all turned out to be a huge testimony today.

What was your performance like in your previous schools?
I would say my performance was average in primary school and above average in secondary school. And in my Senior School Certificate Examinations, I had good grades too. Maybe that delay was the way God wanted it.

We learnt you were delivered of your baby a day after the convocation, how would you describe the timing?
It was God's timing because I was having contraction the night before the convocation and my husband and I kept begging our baby to wait and come after the convocation, and indeed the baby heard us.

Looking at the closeness, were you scared of having your baby that day, coupled with the contraction?
Yes, I was very scared. I told my mum that she should be prepared because it was going to be from convocation to the hospital (laughs). But I thank God.

What name did you give the child?
Mercy, but some people prefer to call her LASU BABY (laughs).

Would you want to go into teaching, as an education graduate, or you have interest in other things?
I would love to teach and practise. That I studied Accounting Education doesn't mean that I should restrict myself because that is the thought of many people out there. Presently, I'm serving in an accounting firm and at the same time lecturing in different ICAN tuition centres preparing students for ICAN examination and I'm enjoying both. Also, I want to own a school so that I can give back to the system what it has given to me.

Would you say having first class has opened doors of opportunities for you?
I wish education would be given its deserved place in our country. I think we need to acknowledge outstanding students in our schools and in the society. While in LASU, our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adigun Fagbohun, appreciated all the first class students with cash awards and this went a long way in motivating and improving our performances and those of others. If our leaders and other concerned Nigerian citizens can just value education and recognise hard work and academic excellence, then things would be different and I think it's something we need to pay attention to.

Fake Doctor Arrested For Stealing N290,000 From Blind Man

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 02:51 AM PDT

The Kwara State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, Adeyinka Ayinla, has paraded a suspect, Mr. Hammer Olalekan, before journalists for claiming to be a doctor.

Olalekan who hails from Odo Otin Local Government Area of Osun State was arrested at Aboto Oja in Asa Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The commandant, who spoke through the command's PRO, Henry Bilesanmi, said while supposedly treating a blind man, the fake doctor transferred N290,000 into his personal account.

But Olalekan was said to have run out of luck when the patient's son went to make a withdrawal on behalf of his father but discovered that there was no money left in the account.

He said subsequent request for a statement of the account then showed that the fake doctor carried out the withdrawal. He was only discovered to have no qualification after his arrest.

"Olalekan is under investigation and would be charged to court very soon. Exhibits found on him are syringe and needles, blood pressure machine, charms, ATM cards, etc," the NSCDC said.

The suspect would also be charged to court very soon.

VP Osinbajo Insists: "Nobody Can Islamise Nigeria"

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 02:51 AM PDT

The Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, said that it was impossible for anyone to Islamise Nigeria, as claimed by some Christian interests.
His words, "Part of the problem is the failure of Christian leadership to take its rightful place. We focus our minds on something we call the Islamic agenda. We look for it everywhere as if we are looking for demons.
"But where is the Christian agenda. Are we not entitled to one?

Osinbajo, who was speaking in Lagos on Friday during the Greater Nigeria Pastors Conference convened by Apostle Wale Adefarasin and Rev. Abayomi Kasali, explained that the recent uproar over the country's subscription to Sukuk Bonds was not justified.

The Federal Government's N100bn Sukuk (Islamic bond), which it plans to use for road construction, became a target of criticism by some Christian leaders in the country, who believed the government was committing the country to an Islamic financial hold.

Osinbajo said, "We are too divided as Christians to have an agenda. The key to the unity and progress of Nigeria is in the church."

According to him, there were no plans to Islamise Nigeria through the Sukuk bond or the country's membership of the Islamic Development Bank.

He said that apart from Nigeria, many nations of the world including the United States of America and the United Kingdom had also embraced the system as a result of its progressive nature.

He said, "The Sukuk is an Islamic concept, which enables people to have access to credit. It is essentially like a bond. The US, UK, China, South Africa have all used the Sukuk. Once there is money in the market, let us not get sentimental. The most important thing is for us to use those monies well.

"Some people say there are some hidden things in this arrangement and that one day somebody is going to take us over. Where? How will that happen? These are straightforward financial systems used all over the world. I don't think it presents any real problem. It is a very progressive financial system.

"Nigeria became a member of the Islamic Development Bank in 2005 and the first person to sit as director of the bank was Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala. The second person to sit as a director is the current Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun, and both of them are Christians. So, when people talk about Islamic agenda, sometimes I am lost.

"The person who brought us into the bank is not a Fulani or Northerner, the person was a Christian, so why are we complaining? Nigeria is the fourth largest shareholder in the Islamic Bank. This wasn't Buhari's making. We must have facts before saying things. But above all, we must ask ourselves if being a member of the bank profits us or not.

"For me, I have no problem with this. We can use what we get there to develop our society. This is the most important for me."

Osinbajo also spoke on the case of a former Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Pension Reforms, Mr. Abdulrasheed Maina, who was discovered to have been reinstated in the Federal Civil Service, after he had earlier fled the country in 2013 after corruption charges were brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The vice president said the country's system made it possible for criminals to go undetected.

He said, "If you look at our present federal structure, it is designed in such a way that you may be able to hide somewhere for a day or two before you are found. Otherwise, how do you explain a situation where a fugitive suddenly appears and finds his way back into the system? How did he get there?

"What Buhari did immediately he heard about the matter was to query how it happened and ordered his disengagement, which is the right thing to do. As for what will happen, we may have to wait and see."

Osinbajo accused the country's elite of working against the progress of the country.

While calling on citizens to support the current administration in its fight against corruption, the vice president said that Nigeria was at the threshold of history and would soon fulfil its full potential.

He said, "We must deal with corruption decisively. It is created by leadership elite that includes not just politicians but also religious leaders and people in the private sector. We must also deal with tribalism, religion and other parochial tendencies. It is difficult to find national leaders today. Many Nigerians speak from a tribal perspective.

"There is no nation on the face of the earth that would survive under the weight of corruption that our country had gone through. Nigeria's elite, regardless of political, religious or ethnic differences, think alike. They are driven largely by the same motive.

"They are selfish, unprepared to make the sacrifices either in service or self-restraint that leaders of successive societies make. High-level corruption knows no religion, ethnicity or other considerations.

"Corrupt elements in our society are united; they fight for each other and are prepared to go down together. They are actually one tribe, indivisible despite their diversity.

"We have to address the issue of corruption pointedly. The system is corrupt. Corruption is generally the rule in our society. This is a time to build. We can become Africa's most productive nation in the very near future."

Any policeman caught groping a female suspect will be dismissed - Police boss | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 01:58 AM PDT

Kwara state Commissioner of Police Mr. Lawan Ado, has made it known that any male policeman caught groping female suspects will be dismissed.

This is coming after a young woman, Kachi Zion, accused four operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of sexually harassing her along the Pipeline area of Ilorin.

She specifically accused one of the policemen of inserting his fingers into her private part.

The command's Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, in a statement on Friday said :
"The CP told them that a male policeman searching a female suspect is a misnomer. He also said it is robbery when policemen accost citizens and search for mobile phones or force suspects to withdraw money from automated teller machines.
"He further declared that any officer arrested doing any of the above would be dismissed and charged to court.
"This is a result of a number of allegations of misconducts against the SARS operatives in recent times."

The CP said the allegations had brought disrepute to the image and the good name of the command.

How A True Christian Responds To Challenges

Posted: 28 Oct 2017 12:36 AM PDT

Everyone has their motivations for getting fit. Ranging from looking good and feeling better to recovering from injuries and preventing them, there are no shortage of reasons to get fit. I certainly have my motivations: I want to honor God with my body. I want to be attractive to my spouse. I want to be able to keep up with my children well into their adult lives.

But these weren't my initial motivations...
not even by a long shot. Those began in my youth.

I'm the youngest of three sons, separated by roughly four and eight years. I was active and healthy when I was young, but I was chubby. You probably wouldn't have thought twice about it as I didn't stand out in a crowd, but I stood out in my own eyes. And no matter how charming you are (and trust me, I was plenty charming), the chubby eventually becomes the center of attention.

I'm 38 now, but I can still remember sitting on the stairs in one of my best friend's basement when I was in 3rd grade or so. We must have been rough-housing and sweaty because I didn't have my shirt on. When he saw my fat rolls, he pointed at them and commented. I don't even think he was being malicious… it just came out. But nevertheless, thirty years later, I can still feel that remark.

One summer break in middle school, I remember some friends (that were girls) sending me a postcard from Florida with some ripped dude in Speedos on the front. On the back they wrote, "You wish." They were trying to be funny, but they kind of sucked at it (and my mom certainly didn't like it).

Another time in middle school, we were playing dodge ball during recess. Must have been one of my less charming days because I got into a little bit of a shouting match with a kid on the other team and I remember him saying, "Well at least I'm not chubby." I even remember where I was in the gym when he said it. That was over twenty five years ago.

I remember in high school, before my growth spurt, not wanting to take my shirt off at swim parties or for shirt/skins basketball games. On the basketball team, I was a decent shooter, but didn't get much playing time, in part, because I was so slow. I was one of the last ones to finish any kind of speed drill. I dreaded practice because of the running and the humiliation. That was over twenty years ago.

It wasn't until my early twenties that I got in really good shape for the first time and it felt awesome. There was no going completely back to the old me. That said, there certainly would be "lulls." During one such lull, on family vacation, a family member said to me, "Remember when you use to be in really good shape?" I know my family loves me and wants the best for me and it probably just slipped out. But it hurt. That was probably 10 years ago. I don't think I've had much of a lull since then. In fact, I recently went from good shape to getting great results with P90X2.

If it doesn't kill you, it just makes your stronger, right? Well, in this case, yes. It's a legitimate source of motivation for me. At the time, I certainly wouldn't have been thankful for the statements people made. They created insecurities and wounded feelings. But now that I've healed, I'm grateful as they serve to propel me. There are scars but no pain. Only reminders of where I was, where I am, and where I want to be.

Those of you who read the Bible may be familiar with the following verse (a favorite verse of my amazing wife I might add):
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. – Romans 8:28
Notice that it doesn't say that in "some things" or a "few things" or "only through good things" God works. And it certainly doesn't say, as many misquote, "all things happen for a reason," as if God isn't working and things are "just" happening. It says that "in all things God works for the good of those who love him…". I don't want to over-spiritualize this topic, but I love him and I believe he has, is, and will continue to work these things in my life for my good and for his purposes.

I also believe that ultimately, it's not what happens to us that defines us. It's how we respond. It's what we do with what we've been given, good or bad. I have chosen to use both as motivations for my fitness journey. What will you choose?

You've been challenged… now GO!

PDP controls 50% of Buhari’s government; Customs Boss Ali

Posted: 27 Oct 2017 11:16 PM PDT

Comptroller General of Nigeria Custom Service, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali has said that the Buhari government has not been able to move forward and fulfill its campaign promises because most of those calling the shots in the government are those who never believed in the President's vision.

Ali's assertion was supported by Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong who said state governors are not happy that they are left out of appointments being made by the government.

Speaking at the commissioning of the office complex of the Buhari Support Organisation in (BSO) in Abuja, Col Ali who is also the National Coordinator of the Organisation said that more than fifty percent of positions in the Buhari government were handled over to members of the PDP who fought against the actualisation of a Buhari Presidency.

While lamenting the fate of members of the organizations who he said made serious sacrifices to ensure that Buhari become President, the Customs boss said when the chips are down, those who were not part of the Buhari vision and are currently in government will abandon the ship, while members of the Organisation who sought the votes of Nigerians will be called to account for the failure of the government.

"We must agree that we cannot finish our four years without delivering and leaving something to be remembered for in this country for a long time to come. We have no problem with our President because he is on course.

"But I must confess here that we have been infused by people who were not part of this journey and these people are the ones that calls the shots today. That is why we are derailing. If we had the right people who had the vision and have been there in and out, I believe that we will not be going the way we are going today.

"It is my belief that those of us who have been in the trenches all these years to get good governance will surely be sleeping with belly ache everyday, especially in the recent past. Everyday, when you wake up, there is a story that makes you shiver.

"We cannot, as a people who have fought and committed everything we had to bring this government to being sit back and allow things to happen the way they are happening. At the end of the day, the fingers will point at us because we were the ones who went to people and asked them to give us their votes.

"These people that are calling the shots today were not there and when the chips are down, they will disappear and melt within the system. We are the ones that will be asked to account for what happened.

"Are we willing to face Nigerians and tell them that we have failed? I think this is the time for us to come together, create a system that is very robust enough to fight back and take back government in our hands and ensure that we deliver.

"We believe that if you want to change the system, it will happen. Let me say that in the course of the jihad of the Prophet Mohammad, anytime they go out for a battle, they come back with loot, but these loot, as far as my own research told me is not distribute to everybody, but to those who took the sword and faced the enemies.

"Today, with all sense of responsibility, I want to say that we have 50 percent of PDP in our government. How can we move forward with this load? How can we achieve our target with this load? It is a spoilt system and so. When you come in, you shake off everybody and bring in your own. That is what democracy is all about.

"Today, we have members of PDP calling the shots. That is what we will begin to fight for, we will fight for our right position, our vision and our mission for this government. I am sorry to deviate into politics, but it is very essential because we are a political Organisation. It is time for us to wake up from slumber and chat a course for this great nation and I believe that we can do it. May God help u and see us through.

"I will therefore ask my colleagues of the BSO to go back to the study room. This is a Commission, but it is also the beginning of the fight for good governance. We must get back to the trenches, draw our own battle plan and battle line. I enjoined you that the same commitment we had in 2015, I employ you to bear with us and commit yourself to a better future for Nigeria.

"We will be calling on you from now on and we will be working day and night. We must do so because we want to save our name at the end of the day and the name of the President for what he is doing. Our President is on course and all we need is to ensure that we support him. What do we do? For those of us who believe in God, we must know that God is the first point of call."
