A man dumped his four (4) children at Agege Local Government "AREA A-MATERNITY OFFICE" with a short note in their hand, asking the Local Government Authority to carter for them as he can no longer fend for the children due to economic hardship. On the short note, the man also said his wife who is the mother of the children left and abandoned the the children. It took the intervention of the Agege local government Chairman Hon. Ganiyu Kola Egunjobi and other council workers to rescue the innocent children. They have been taken to a nearby police station for custody and proper care. The Chairman was emotional when he saw the children and wandered why parents would do this to their children. Early exposure to Porn making men prone to abuse women — US Expert Confirms Posted: 11 Aug 2017 04:04 AM PDT Boys and older men who gain access to pornographic materials at young age are likely to desire power over women, it has been revealed. This is according experts at the American Psychological Association. "We found that the younger a man was when he first viewed pornography, the more likely he was to want power over women," says study co-author, Alyssa Bischmann. Bischmann said this at the presentation of the findings to the APA at the organisation's annual conference. Bischmann's study surveyed 330 undergraduate male and found that the average scholar saw their first porn at age 13. The researchers also found that men who discovered porn later in life were more likely to pursue the promiscuous lifestyle; but men who saw porn earlier were more prone to answering questions on masculinity that indicated an inclination to assert themselves over women. The researchers are hopeful that the findings can inform s*xual assault prevention efforts, especially in a youth generation with the World Wide Web at their fingertips. Two jealous men beat up female neighbor for refusing to date them in Lagos | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 11 Aug 2017 03:48 AM PDT Two men –Edward Ndidi and Paul Oges were on Thursday charged with beating up their female co-tenant at an Ikeja Magistrates' Court. The accused– Ndidi, 29, a student; and Oges, 30, a businessman — both residents of Gowon Estate, Egbeda, however, pleaded innocence of the offences. According to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN),the Prosecutor, Sgt. Godwin Awase told court that the accused conspired to assault their neighbour, Miss Patience Iyeonema, by beating her and injuring her. "The accused were shouting, calling the complainant a prostitute, the complainant ignored them and left the house to buy food. Awase said when the accused discovered that the complainant did not react, they went further to assault her by beating her. Stunning prison officer jailed for making hundreds of calls with young inmate | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 11 Aug 2017 03:48 AM PDT A female prison officer who used a "dirty phone" as she made hundreds of calls and texts with an inmate at a youth offenders unit has been jailed . Chelsea Blackwell, 27, exchanged more than 850 messages with the 21-year-old man during their inappropriate relationship between July 12 and August 6 last year. Around 115 calls, some lasting more than two hours, were also made, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said. After the male inmate's phone was seized following a cell search at Aylesbury Young Offenders Institution in Buckinghamshire, Blackwell used a second "dirty phone" to make five calls. She also wrote four letters that were discovered in his cell, and more were found at her home in Bootle, Merseyside. A forensic handwriting report concluded there was "very strong evidence" Blackwell had written all of them. The inmate had been jailed for seven years for wounding with intent. Last month Blackwell pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court to misconduct in a public office, and on Thursday she was sentenced to eight months imprisonment. (Photos)Two UNILAG female students die in Lagos hotel fire | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 11 Aug 2017 03:48 AM PDT Two students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have died in a midnight fire at a Lagos hotel. Roli Odogwu, a 200-Level Mass Communication student, and Linda Elegeonye, a 300-Level Law student, died of burns, days after they were trapped in the hotel room where they were guests. Until their death, the two students were residents of Fagunwa Hall. CAMPUSLIFE gathered that the duo left the campus on Monday to attend an evening event off-campus. When it dawned on them that they could not return to the campus late in the night, they reportedly lodged in the hotel to pass the night. The late Roli's friend, who did not want to be named, said she spoke to her mother to inform her of her decision to pass the night in the hotel. It was gathered that the victims were asleep when the inferno started from a faulty air conditioner. CAMPUSLIFE learnt that the victims were trapped for several minutes before they were rescued from the room. They sustained first-degree burns. They were rushed to Gbagada General Hospital. Last Saturday, Roli died at 4am and was buried at Atan Cemetery in Yaba. On Sunday, news broke that Linda, who had been in coma for six days, had also died. A friend, who pleaded for anonymity, said she was informed about the incident by a policeman who picked up the late Roli's call on Tuesday. She said: "The policeman told me that the owner of the phone (Roli) and her friend were involved in a fire accident and they were unconscious. I was told they had been moved to Trauma and Burns Unit of the Gbagada General Hospital. I informed other friends and we went to the hospital. When we got there, we were not allowed to see them immediately. Three hours after, we were allowed in with their parents and other family members. "Roli was conscious and responding to treatment, but Linda was still in a coma. The burns were severe and we hoped both could make it. 10 Ways The God We Serve Is Greater (So Great) Posted: 11 Aug 2017 02:34 AM PDT We often sing choruses about our God being greater and stronger, but truthfully – God is without comparison. It's not like we're on a scale with mankind at one end and God at the other. He's not even on the scale. God is measureless. He is boundless and outside of any limit whatsoever. So, it's not just that God is greater. He is great beyond anything our mind could imagine. " There is none like You, O LORD; You are great, and great is Your name in might," the scriptures tell us. So how great is our God? Here are 10 ways our God is great... 1. God is so great that it's incomprehensible to us. We the finite cannot by nature grasp One who is infinite. Though we try to put words to it, though we try to wrap our mind around it, how can we who live with limits understand One who is without limit? Whose glory no man can see and who dwells in inapproachable light? God's incomprehensibility doesn't mean God is unknowable; it means He is not completely knowable. (Jen Wilkin, None Like Him) God is so great that we can spend our lives getting to know him and still there is more. The unlimited, infinite God has chosen to reveal himself to us. He's declared who he is in scripture. "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever." Deut. 29:29 2. God is so great that He is without origin. God is uncreated. Though He created everything on this earth, the galaxies, the oxygen for our lungs, you, me, the angels and demons and Satan, God himself is uncreated. He has always been. When God confronted Moses in the inconsumable fire of the burning bush, Moses asked for God's name. God answered with a declaration of who he is. "God said to Moses, 'I AM WHO I AM. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: I AM has sent me to you.'" God revealed himself as uncreated and self-existent. God has no beginning and nothing came before him. That alone is reason for us to worship him and yet there's more. 3. God is so great he has no needs. God is complete in himself and has no needs. He experienced complete fellowship in the trinity eons before earth was created. Spurgeon says, "God is and has always been perfectly happy and perfectly glorious long before wing of angel moved in space or time existed." Despite our egos, God doesn't need us. He didn't create us because he was lonely or bored. He doesn't need our worship and we can add nothing to his glory. If not one person ever believed in God it wouldn't change him in the least. Our failure to pray? It only hurts us. Our sin? It only hurts us. Our lack of trust? It only hurts us. God doesn't need our prayer, our obedience or our faith and yet he calls for it because he knows it's good for us. 4. God is so great He will never change. We live in a world of change – job moves, opinion shifts, relationship changes. But God is a rock and never changes. "For I am the Lord, I change not…" Malachi 3:6. And Hebrews 13:8 says "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever." To change means to become more than or less than and because God is perfect, he doesn't need to change. This means God's will never changes and his promises cannot change. His truth is fixed regardless of popular opinion and God's feelings toward us never change. He doesn't love us when we obey or once we trust him. God has always loved us and proved it on the cross. 5. God is so great he rules over time. God is eternal which means that he exists outside of our time limitations. "In the beginning, God created," and one of the first things he created is time. He governs time. God lives outside of created time – in what is referred to as the everlasting now. He lives in the past, present and future all at once. He's present in all our tomorrows – that unknown diagnosis, that relationship that's teetering, that financial challenge we're up against. We can trust God's guidance because he's already there. He knew us before we were born and he knows every day of our life. 6. God is so great he knows everything. There is nothing God needs to learn; nothing he has yet to discover. When God guides us, he does so in perfect knowledge. We may walk by faith but we follow God who already knows what's ahead. Psalm 147:5 says, "Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite." We can't keep secrets from him and no one can tattle on us to him. He already knows! That skeleton we've got buried deep? God knows. And still he loves us. When we confess our sin, we're not informing God; we're conforming our heart to his through repentance. 7. God is great in wisdom. We often seek answers from many places, but only God has the wisdom we need. Isaiah 55says, "My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways…As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." God is infinitely wise. In fact, we can't even imagine the ways God will work. God's wisdom provides practical guidance and direction. I cannot tell you how many times as a single mom I've cried out for God's wisdom over my children, decisions and finances. Sure enough, God always gives the wisdom needed. He promises it. 8. God is great in faithfulness. We know that God is faithful and yet don't always feel that faithfulness when our circumstances are hard. But God's character is constant even when our circumstances aren't. It's not that he chooses to be faithful. He can be nothing else. As sure as the sun will rise, God is faithful. None of us goes to bed waiting to see if the sun will rise the next morning to make plans. We know the sun will rise! It's not even a thought. And so, in full confidence of that sunrise, we plan the next day. That is God's faithfulness. We don't have to wring hands or worry if he'll come through. We can count on the constancy of God's faithfulness. 9. God is great in goodness. God is good and God does good. God is the source of everything good and the measure by which we can even know what good is. It's easy enough to say that God is good when life is going well, but what about when we're in the midst of severe trial? When we're under the weight of what-if's and what now's? That's when we need to see God's goodness more than ever. Nothing happens to us that doesn't first come through God's good hand. If God has allowed it, it's for good because God cannot do evil. And even in trials, God's goodness is all around us. When my husband died unexpectedly, life felt anything but good and yet we had constant reminders of God's goodness in the hard. 10. God is great in power. Over and over, scripture tells us that all things are possible with God. Think someone's too far from God? God can save him. Think our mess is too tangled for God? God can bring beauty where there are ashes. We consider things as easy or hard and it keeps us from faith-filled prayers and relying on God's promises. But there is no hard or easy for God. It's done or not done. Amazingly, the all-powerful God chooses to dwell in the hearts of believers and to work through believers. And just when we start to wrap our minds around God's limitless power, we're back where we started -- the incomprehensibility of God. 5 Ways To Cultivate True Humility In Your Life Posted: 11 Aug 2017 02:04 AM PDT Humility is an important character quality in the Christian life. Although most of us know this, we also likely know that humility is one of the most difficult qualities to develop and consistently live out in our Christian walk. The very nature of humility seems counterintuitive to our culture's values. Our society applauds independence, fame, success, and self-reliance. Humility often feels like a paradox, but it's consistent with Jesus' teachings. For example, take this passage from Matthew: "So the last will be first, and the first will be last" (Matthew 20:16). Or this passage from Mark: "What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" (Mark 8:36). To take it even a step further, this representation of the humble being the true recipients of God's Kingdom and blessings, we need only look at the life Jesus himself lived. Philippians 2:5-8 says: "In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!" This kind of sacrificial attitude and humility, God's Word tells us, is what we are to live out in our relationships with each other. But how do we do that? Where do we start? Relevant Magazine gives five practical ways to seek to cultivate humility in your Christian walk in an article titled "How to Actually be More Humble." 1. Pray for it. While this may seem obvious, if you're like me, you often forget that this is where it starts: we can simply ask our Heavenly Father who gives us all good gifts. He wants to bless us with humility because having a humble and teachable spirit allows us to experience more of the joy and peace he offers. 2. Support leaders who value it. It's easy as a leader or person in authority to be anything but humble. We see it all the time, and unfortunately Christians aren't exceptions to the temptation to allow their positions of authority to become a cause for pride. But there are good leaders out there too who demonstrate humility. Seek these leaders out. Seek to learn from how they submit their leadership and authority to the Lord. You may even want to develop a mentorship relationship with them. I know I was blessed so much by being mentored by older women who led a Bible study at my church. 3. Visualize your worst enemy at the cross. This reminds me of something I once heard from a fellow believer: "It's hard to stay bitter at someone if you are praying for that person." The same goes for seeing someone you may dislike and disagree with in the same place as you--in need of forgiveness, in need of Christ. As the saying goes, "We are all level at the foot of the cross." It's hard to be prideful when you realize that every human being is a sinner in need of grace. This will also likely help you in developing compassion--a close cousin to humility. 4. Read Luke with a highlighter. Although this may sound like something you haven't done since Sunday School, the fact remains that the Holy Spirit is ready to speak to us when we dive into God's Word. There is so much we can glean from how Jesus taught and acted in the Gospels that can help us to cultivate humility. Pay attention to how He lived out his humanity in a humble way, even though He was fully God. The Gospel of Luke is rich with things we can learn and apply to our own lives from studying how Jesus interacted with people and what and how he taught them. 5. Weed out media that negatively affects the way you act. Social media often has the tendency to make us envious, snarky, and prideful. It's important to recognize when an app or website we frequent is having a negative impact on us and developing very un-Christian qualities in our lives. If this is happening, it may be time to step back and take a break from social media (maybe use the time you normally scroll through Facebook or Instagram to instead read Luke!). Hopefully these five suggestions will spur you on to knowing Jesus more, abiding more in Him, and cultivating a genuine attitude of humility. It's also important to remember that, like any spiritual fruit, humility is not something we can muster up ourselves. Ultimately, it is cultivated in us through the Holy Spirit. How To Have Confidence In Prayer Posted: 11 Aug 2017 12:34 AM PDT Ever pray and then wonder if it were going to do any good? Ever knelt down and bowed your head, but felt disconnected, as if your prayers were just drifting off into the ether? Ever had prayers go without an answer of any kind? This is an interesting dynamic, really. Most of the time, we have no trouble accepting that the Bible is true — that it's God-breathed, that it's the Word of Life. Then we turn around and question what the Bible says about prayer. We might not see it that way, yet that's what happens when we doubt the strength or usefulness of our prayer life. The Book of James should encourage you as it proves the power of prayer: "The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." — 5:16b (NIV)"Effective" is translated from the Greek word energeō, from which our English word "energy" is derived. I love that! The Message paraphrases it like this: "The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with." God's Word to us promises that there is authority in our prayers. They get things moving. They get results. Our prayer is the fuse and He is the dynamite. Still not convinced? Consider where this portion of the verse appears. It's sandwiched between a calling to be spiritually healed — ". . . pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed" — and the reminder of Elijah's prayer for an act in the physical realm: ". . . Elijah, for instance, human just like us, prayed hard that it wouldn't rain, and it didn't . . ." Physical. Emotional. Spiritual. There is nothing off-limits for the power of prayer. Make no mistake. Our prayers are powerful not because of anything we do or who we are. Remember, we're just the fuse. It's because of who He is and what He can do. Therefore, we can approach Him with an honest, upright, and believing heart. Then God is eager to respond, doing what only He can. That's why James also reminds us to quit questioning what prayer can do: "But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. We need to drop the doubting of what we're doing when we kneel before the God of all creation. Quit questioning the effectiveness of presenting our requests to Him. Earnestly seek His will for your life, His wisdom for your mind, and His love to fill your heart. He delights in answering you. He is all about His glory. You can fully trust Him with your prayers, as you also trust the truth of His character, purposes, and promises. Fitness is a struggle for so many people. Whether it's finding the time, desire, energy, discipline, balance, whatever the case, fitness can be a stumbling block. Our response may be to pray for help, but in our heart of hearts, we don't expect it to come. We don't expect an answer. We don't believe there is dynamite on the other end of the fuse. Worse yet, we dump water on the fuse after it has been lit. We don't really want an answer to our prayer because it might mean giving up ___________. Or we fail to listen for an answer. We don't consider the words of a loved one or examine Scripture with a truly open mind. In- stead, we go about our days, too busy or unwilling to listen. Or maybe we ignore the answer we are given. We push aside that little nudge in our hearts and fail to follow through in obedience. We are double-minded. Unstable. Before we know it, we are letting our struggle define us. That's why our prayers need to be offered with a clean heart — with pure motives, earnestly. God knows us better than we know ourselves and He can discern our intent. Yet, out of our vulnerability, we can approach Him void of pretention, full of confidence. Prayer is one of our greatest tools for good and most effective weapons against the enemy. We should wield it with great confidence. It knows no limits. Prayer is bound by nothing. God has the power to change anything and we have the privilege to approach Him about everything. We would be wise to do so, and to do so with confidence. Prayer Father, thank You for giving us access to You through prayer and for the delight You take in listening. Will You forgive me when I go through the motions with my prayer life? Give me a pure heart, Father, to believe and not doubt. Lord, I want to trust not only that You hear me but that You'll help me. I want to trust in your greater purposes for the countless things I do not know, see, or understand. Amen. Meditation My prayers are effective and powerful because God hears and answers. Daily Spiritual Exercise Today you are going to meditate for three to five minutes on Philippians 4:6–7, which says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. During the short clip a crying baby is picked up from the floor and put in the fridge, before the door is slammed shut. How To Know If You’re Succeeding As A Church Leader Posted: 10 Aug 2017 11:34 PM PDT The prophet Jeremiah once encouraged the people of his day to "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls" (Jer 6:16). Rest. That's the promise. Why do you do what you do in ministry? What's driving you? Better yet, how do you understand what you are doing in ministry? What is your sense of what faithfulness to Jesus looks like in the context of your efforts in the local church? We live in a time when fewer and fewer ministry leaders have a clear idea of what it is they're supposed to be doing. As a result, we run this way and that, breathlessly trying to keep pace with our peers. We go from one fad and fashion to the next, from one movement or ideology to the next, from one book or conference to the next, desperate to find the elusive holy grail of effectiveness. There's a reason many leaders struggle with chronic anxiety, depression, and fatigue. Be honest now. How many times have you read a book, attended a conference, or listened to a leadership podcast, felt inspired, and then charged into your next ministry staff meeting with an announcement about "the next big thing" God was calling your church to, only to find your ministry staff even more deflated and confused than they were before? That should tell you something. Jesus doesn't intend for us to live like that. Not as ministry leaders. Not as human beings. At one point in his ministry, Jesus said, "Come to me all you who labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matt 11:28-30). It's been paraphrased like this: "Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly." "Unforced rhythms" and "freely and lightly" are not a description of how most ministry leaders are living. But that is because we've lost touch with the "ancient path"—the way of Jesus. Too often we've let fad, fashion, and ungodly peer pressure guide our ministries rather than the call of Jesus. And do you know what that call is? It hasn't changed. It's not going to, either. It's this: "Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matt 28:19-20).Discipleship is still and will always be the great "ancient path" of Jesus. It's the center of the bullseye. The main thing. And when we devote ourselves to it, we find Jesus right there, working alongside us, doing the heavy lifting. And we also find ourselves free of the chronic worry that we aren't doing enough, free of the heavy yoke of comparing ourselves to others, free from the burden of endless distraction. That's how Jesus intends us for us to lead. Light and easy. At our church in Colorado Springs, we've broken the call to "make disciples" down into three main areas: worship, connect, and serve. We feel that a fully devoted follower of Jesus is a person who is engaged on all three of those levels with their whole life. Other churches will articulate the call uniquely in their unique setting. But what "worship, connect, serve" gives is a biblical "bullseye"… a grid … a way to assess how we are doing. Are we helping equip people for a life of public and private devotion (worship)? For a life of rich, shared community (connect)? For a life of radical self-giving to others, both in the church and outside of the church (service)? Everything we do is geared at answering those questions. We think they are the essential matters of discipleship. And so we stress less out about numbers, and we worry less about fads and fashion. We focus most on staying faithful to Jesus. We trust He is doing the heavy lifting. Just as he promised. So what's your grid? How do you understand the ancient path of discipleship? A Chinese foreign national expressed this view to me. The problem he said "is from the few who do not wish it to trickle down to the downside". There is a fairy amount of the cake to address key issues especially the sustenance of basic infrastructure and affordable food at reasonable prices. If what a child does not receive he can seldom give, it would appear from the many rags to the riches Nigerian ruling elites, the cake will not circulate. The ruling elites behave one kind when it comes to prudence with public trust. From the hind sight, most when in charge will come disorganise things and live the "treasury how they met it". How did you meet it when asked "empty" and how did you leave it "empty". It does not matter if it is his state, local government or indeed the mother of all the federal government. What is at stake is live and let die. Cake is a cat and mouth game. The paradox is that even the so-called southerners; you will discover it will be the tribes from their clan or local government that will swallow the cake. It may appear as if the Yoruba or the Ibo or Niger Delta share the cake when it comes home. The noise is only anti-Hausa-Fulani and the religious card. However, a closer scrutiny will reveal that it is members of his "Kingdom" or "nation" or "government" that distribute the cake and to themselves. All other supposedly, the chiefs of administration are waiting for the crumbs to sing the song of the Emperor. If the common man sleeps hungry and angry is not his headache. Leadership is not for service but for selfish interests. The Idoma, Tiv and Jukun trivialities is laden with Okar agenda but there is zero sum game where Tiv must swallow most of the cake in Benue. The cake is big if one looks at the resource patterns endowed Nigeria by their Creator the Lord of all. We have huge land resources for agriculture and livestock production. There is abundant surface water for irrigation farming and fresh fish to remove hunger. The number of trucks loaded with cows, sheep, goats and donkeys on a daily basis on route down south that if the herdsmen fight back will cause a standstill the day they refuse to sell a single piece. What happens that the "well meaning people of the middle belt" are not sending pigs and bush meat from Benue, Taraba and Plateau to add to the dietary menu of the "well meaning people of the south?" I bet the nutritious value of the southerners will be tested from bush meat that Ortom may export to the well meaning people of the south. However, if bush meat is a valuable cake let Lagos, Anambra, Ekiti and Port Harcourt sign delivery agreements as Lagos did with Kebbi to purchase such delicacies from Plateau, Benue and Taraba among others.
It is a fact that in Nigeria the cake is big. Just consider the ongoing revelations where unbelievable amount of our cake is being diverted by few selfish fools. This followed an ex-parte order issued by Justice Yusuf Halilu, following allegations that the governors of the three states preferred payment to family members, friends and cronies in the guise of settling the fees for consultancy services at the expense of the real consultant progenitor of the Paris-London Club Refund." Second, the Daily Trust of Thursday, August 8, 2017 captioned on the wonderful world of the former Petroleum Minister Diezani captioned "Court orders final forfeiture of $37.5m mansion linked to Diezani. The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered immediate forfeiture of $37.5 million mansion in Banana Island Lagos, alleged to be owned by the former Minister of Petroleum, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke. Further in the wonderful world of Deizani the centre of the cake manipulation, the Sun edition of Sunday July 23, 2017 states on page 10, Stinking Billionaire: Complete Story of Diezani 's Associate, Kola Aluko. Furthermore Trust says "In an account of his interview given by the FBI to prosecutors, "Agaev was asked about payment of his commission. Agaev stated that he went to Etete and told to pay him the $65,000,000 fee. Agaev stated that Etete said 'I can't pay you, I have to pay Adoke [Mohammed Bello Adoke, then Nigeria's attorney general] $400million and all the other people in the senate and the National assembly.' Agaev stated that he would think President Goodluck Jonathan got at least $200 million of this money." With respect to the huge cake shared by the three tiers of government, again the Daily Trust of Monday, May 22, 2017 on front page says "FG, States, LG'S shared N1.4 trillion in Q 1. The three tiers of government shared over N1.4 trillion during the first quarter of the year official data has shown. The Federal Government got N549.1 billion or 52 percent of the total according to the revenue sharing formula. The 36 states earned N359.18 billion (26.72 percent) and the 774 Local government got N269.42 billion (20.60 percent)."Compare to African countries, this has been going on over the last 45 years and cake being denied the majority and the manipulators using media to deceive them on the anti-corruption. It is anti-denial of the cake to Nigerians. Fourth, with respect to the cluelessness of Nigerians on the favours given to them but their penchant for ungratefulness, they neglect to provide food for themselves. Any nation that depends on others to provide their food needs and depend on greedy traders to import food so they make an over kill in profit against the leaders wish are wish full thinkers. It is akin to what the Buhari administration is pursuing with regards to establish food security for posterity. It is not surprising the anti-grazing Bill and all contrived conflicts between the Executive and Lawmakers and in part the Judiciary. Those who do not wish to develop the cake inward can go to all length. The Daily Trust of Thursday April 6, 2017 on the front page captioned "Smugglers erode local rice production gains. Smuggling of rice through land borders has resumed at an alarming rate, threatening to reverse the gains recorded through local production, millers and farmers told Daily Trust."
These revelations are mere tips of the ice bag. But it would appear, the Nigerians are bent on shifting blame in the wrong quarters. If they focus nearer home on the state governors and local governments for the better part of their cake the better. Unfortunately spent forces in the Senate are crying for more money and devolution of powers. If they were content with diverting only 10% of the trillions they received, 90% of the cake would have changed the lives of the common man.
