How This Man, Jeff Bezos, Beat Bill Gates To Become The Current Richest Man

Posted: 07 Mar 2018 03:25 AM PST

Amazon founder and chief executive, Jeff Bezos, has been named by Forbes Magazine in its latest edition as the world's richest man with 112bn dollar fortune. He replaces Microsoft co-founder, Bill Gates, who fell back into second place with 90bn dollars.

He's richer than Bill Gates wirh 22 Billion Dollars. How did he do it?

Forbes calculated that Bezos's fortune, which is mostly held in Amazon shares, increased by 39.2bn dollars over the past year.

The biggest ever one-year gain. Amazon's shares have nearly doubled from 846 dollars a share last March to 1,523 dollars per share last night.

Gates, who had topped the Forbes billionaires list for 18 of the last 24 years, saw his fortune rose modestly from 86bn to 90bn dollars.

Collectively, the world's 2,208 billionaires hold 9.1tn dollars more than three times the gross domestic product (GDP) of the UK.

The billionaires increased their combined wealth by 1.4bn dollars over the past year.

The list is published in Forbes's latest edition under the headline "The super-rich continue to get richer, widening the gap between them and everyone else".

Twelve out of the top 15 richest people are from the US, with investor Warren Buffett in third place (with $84bn) and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg in fifth ($71bn).

France's Bernard Arnault of luxury goods group LVMH is the richest person from outside of the US with a $72bn fortune.

The number of women on the list increased from 227 to 256. A record 72 of the women made their own fortunes. The world's richest self-made woman is Hong Kong's Zhou Qunfei, founder of smartphone screen maker Lens Technology.

The Forbes' billionaires list is based on share prices and other financial data on 9 February 2018. The magazine also noted that the U.S president Donald Trump's fortune had fallen for the second year running in annual ranking of the world's wealthiest people.

It said that Trump's net worth had fallen by $400m (£287m) to $3.1bn over the past year.

"It means the president has slipped more than 200 places in the billionaire rankings from 544th richest last year to 766th this year,'' it said.

The magazine attributed Trump's decline in wealth to "a tough New York real estate market, particularly for retail locations; a costly lawsuit and an expensive presidential campaign".

Forbes said a record 35 people have joined the list of the world's billionaires, with the magazine calculating there are now 2,208 people with a net worth of more than 1bn dollars.

This was how he started; selling books, then he got better with time.

LOL! "We Are Being Paid Too Much" - Over 500 Canadian Doctors Protest Raises

Posted: 07 Mar 2018 03:25 AM PST

Are we in the same world where millions of workers in Africa (Nigeria) sometimes have to beg Government to even pay them their meagre salary? Truly, wonders shall never end.

In Canada, more than 500 doctors and residents, as well as over 150 medical students, have signed a public letter protesting their own pay raises.

Their words: "We, Quebec doctors who believe in a strong public system, oppose the recent salary increases negotiated by our medical federations."

The group say they are offended that they would receive raises when nurses and patients are struggling.

"These increases are all the more shocking because our nurses, clerks and other professionals face very difficult working conditions, while our patients live with the lack of access to required services because of the drastic cuts in recent years and the centralization of power in the Ministry of Health," reads the letter.

"The only thing that seems to be immune to the cuts is our remuneration," the letter says.

Canada has a public health system which provides "universal coverage for medically necessary health care services provided on the basis of need, rather than the ability to pay," the government's website says.
The 213 general practitioners, 184 specialists, 149 resident medical doctors and 162 medical students want the money used for their raises to be returned to the system instead.

"We believe that there is a way to redistribute the resources of the Quebec health system to promote the health of the population and meet the needs of patients without pushing workers to the end," the letter says.
"We, Quebec doctors, are asking that the salary increases granted to physicians be canceled and that the resources of the system be better distributed for the good of the health care workers and to provide health services worthy to the people of Quebec."

A physician in Canada is paid $260,924 ($339,000 Canadian) for clinical services by the government's Ministry of Health per year on average, according to a report from the Canadian Institute for Health Information published in September 2017. On average, a family physician is paid $211,717 ($275,000 Canadian) for clinical services and a surgical specialist is paid $354,915 ($461,000 Canadian), according to the same report.

This is total gross pay, however, and does not take into account overhead each doctor pays to operate, as the Canadian Institute for Health Information is careful to point out to CNBC Make It.

In May 2016, one physician publicly broke down the cost of running his family practice, and though he brought in $231,033 ($300,000 Canadian), he was left with $136,906 ($177,876 Canadian) after subtracting his business expenses — but before taxes and employment benefits are taken out.

The cost of medical school in Canada is subsidized by provincial governments, according to The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada. The cost varies depending on whether a student is a Canadian citizen, permanent resident or foreign student and the particular school. For Canadian citizens or permanent residents, tuition for the first year of medical school ranges from $2567 ($3,334 Canadian) to $20,064 ($26,056 Canadian), according to The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada's website.

The same group, the Médecins Québécois pour le Régime Public (MQRP), that published the aforementioned public letter, also published a letter on February 17 opposing $500 million worth of pay increases for specialist doctors. The group called the pay increase "indecent."

And on February 1, the MQRP published a letter denouncing working conditions of nurses. "The nurses are exhausted by a heavy workload. They argue that the chronic lack of staff and the fatigue caused by repeated overtime, sometimes mandatory, for lack of replacement of the team, have an impact on the safety of patient care," the letter says.

EFCC Has Absolute Powers To Arrest Anybody – VP Osinbajo

Posted: 07 Mar 2018 03:05 AM PST

Vice President Yemi Osinabjo has declared that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has absolute powers to arrest anybody found to have committed any crime punishable under the laws of Nigeria.

Osinbajo, who stated this in an interview with reporters in Lagos, said the anti-graft agency does not require the approval of President Muhammadu Buhari or himself to go after anybody found wanting.

The vice president explained that the President, in line with his tradition of openness and transparency in governance, has given full rights to all law enforcement agencies to carry out their duties without interference. He said that the Buhari administration will continue to give complete freedom for government agencies to perform.

"With respect to the arrest of DG, NIA, and some of what took place, I think the fair thing to say is that the President has said that the EFCC has the absolute right to go ahead and do whatever it needs to do to ensure that anybody who has committed a crime, or who is suspected to having committed a crime, is brought to justice, and that's the position that the EFCC has taken. "You know the EFCC has issued a notice for the DG, NIA, and SGF to attend interview with the EFCC; but we are sure that that process would be followed to a logical conclusion.

"To ensure that you allow government agency do their business, that's very important; that's institution building. Look at what is happening in the U.S. today; the President is sometimes angry with the FBI because the FBI is doing its independent work, and that's what we hope to achieve: when you see countries where agencies are doing their work the way they are supposed to do it," he added.

Speaking specifically on why the sacked Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal, and the former Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Mr. Ayodele Oke, have not been arrested and arraigned by the EFCC since their investigation was concluded, Osinbajo said: "One of the things that the President decided to do is to ensure that every agency does its work without direct interference from the President.

"So the President does not call the EFCC, and say, 'Go and arrest Mr. Ekpeyong', no. And that's one of the most important things about the style of this government, and we want the agencies to do their work.

"No one has showed up and called Magu and say, 'Look go and arrest'. That's what it is."

Osinbajo, while making inference to the nomination of Ibrahim Magu as the EFCC boss and the rejection by the Senate twice for his confirmation, said that it was up to the Department of State Services (DSS) to submit a report against the candidacy of the anti-graft boss and the right of Magu to also defend himself.

According to the Vice President, while the DSS submitted a report against the candidacy of Magu, the EFCC acting chairman defended himself sufficiently and was considered for the second time by both himself and President Buhari as the man for the job.

How Two Fraudsters Cloned Ex-Custom's Boss Aide's Phone and Stole Millions

Posted: 07 Mar 2018 02:35 AM PST

The trial of Balarabe Abdullahi and Usman Baba Yusuf (currently at large) who are being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes, EFCC, for cloning the phone number of Abdulmumini Bako, a former Special Assistant to the former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, continued on March 5, 2018 with the prosecution presenting its third witness.

Naziru Aminu Shehu, an operative of the EFCC, who testified against them before Justice D.Z. Senchi of the FCT High Court, Jabi Abuja, narrated how the defendants cloned the number, registered it as YouYoulili and used it to defraud officers of the Customs Service.

He said: "A search was conducted at Balarabe's house on May 10, 2016 and his Peugeot 206, in which incriminating items including MTN SIM Cards, Glo SIM packs, were found, including Access Bank ATM cards bearing the name of the first defendant and a letter of assistance to one Hon. Umar M Bature."

He further told the court that under interrogation, Balarabe admitted that the, "Access Bank ATM card bearing the name Balarabe Musa belongs to him and that it is the ATM card for the account in which he received the proceed of N2 million that the victims sent."

Balarabe, according to Naziru, confessed that he stopped using the MTN phone number after receiving the N2 million, based on instruction from Yusuf. According to Naziru, investigations into the shady activities of Balarabe and Yusuf, made investigators to extend their searchlight to First Bank Nigeria Plc, after payment slip linked to Yusuf were found in his car.

He said: "We then wrote to the bank for more information and also placed a no-debit on the account and ordered the bank to arrest whoever was the owner of the account whenever he appears.

"We also wrote to Access Bank and MTN requesting for phone record of the nominal complainant, Abdulmumini Bako, because he had raised the alarm that his phone was cloned."

Naziru revealed that investigations indicated that "the phone number was registered with a name that does not belong to a human being as it carried the name YouYoulili" noting that the address was traced to Kano State where the defendant was based.

He added that two messages were sent to the victims of the fraud, using the phones of Bako, but "there was no sender, time, details of the phone model and where the message was sent from".

Subsequently, the Access Bank ATM card was admitted in evidence as Exhibit 2, the Glo SIM pack as Exhibit 3, five MTN SIM packs as Exhibit 4, five MTN SIM cards as Exhibit 4a, three SIM packs as Exhibit 5, First Bank slip as Exhibit 6, letter of assistance to the bank as Exhibit 7, and the search note as Exhibit 8.

The matter has been adjourned to March 8, 2018 for continuation of trial.

Seriously? 'Dead Man' Sues Monarch Over Traditional Stool

Posted: 07 Mar 2018 01:45 AM PST

A man who has been dead for as many as fifteen years, has reportedly dragged an Anambra State monarch to court.

An Anambra State High Court presided over by Justice David Onyefulu has been told that one of the litigants, Chief Jacob Arinze, who filed a suit against the traditional ruler of Awka community, Igwe Obi Gibson Nwosu, was a 'ghost'.

The relative of the deceased told the court that the litigant died 15 years before the suit was filed.

According to Southern City News, the Awka community had been enmeshed in crisis over the traditional stool, resulting in plethora of suits.

Testifying in court, a 78-year-old witness, Anthony Arinze, observed that Chief Oyeoka Jacob Arinze, was his uncle who died on October 18, 2003.

He added, "And he was interred on November, 21, 2003 at his compound, No 2 Muofunanya Street, Nkwelle-Awka.

"In the foregoing, he (the deceased) could not have originated or participated in the said suit since he was dead and buried more than 15 years ago."

He described the suit and a certain January 15, 2018 judgment as pure fraud aimed to mislead the court.

To buttress his argument, Arinze attached a copy of the funeral brochure and the tribute he allegedly wrote in honour of his late uncle.

In his affidavit, Arinze, who claimed that he hailed from Achallaoji Quarter in Nkwelle-Awka, averred, "The suit No. A/358/2017 brought by Ichie Nweke Uche Okoye and others, including Chief Oyeoka Jacob Arinze (purportedly dead), in which judgment was entered on January 15, 2018, was never brought to the attention of the Nkwelle Community and was falsely claimed by the named plaintiffs."

The court, however, adjourned the matter till May 2, 2018, following the application of the plaintiff's lawyer, Mr. Uba Anene, that he needed some time to react to the counter-affidavit filed by the defendants.

He said he was not served directly, but was rather served through what he called a collaborating counsel.

The defence counsel, led by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr. Onyechi Ikpeazu, did not object to the application.

Nigerian Man Elected As First Black Senator In Italy

Posted: 07 Mar 2018 01:45 AM PST

A Nigerian has made history in far away Italy after becoming the first black man to be elected as a Senator in the country.

Mr. Toni Iwobi is the first coloured senator elected in Italy and will be the only black parliamentarian in the next legislature.

According to Yahoo News, Iwobi from Nigeria is an IT Expert with a company that provides assistance on hardware and software for both private and public bodies.

He has been living in Italy since the '70s, long after leaving the shores of Nigeria. He was elected in the industrial city of Brescia in northern Italy.

"Friends, it is with great emotion that I inform you that I was elected senator of the Republic!" he said in a statement.

"After over 25 years of battles in the great family of the league, it is about to start another great adventure! My thanks go to Matteo Salvini, a great leader who led the league to become the first centre-Centre force of the country!

"I have to thank then my National Secretary Paolo Grimoldi, my now former provincial secretary and new Congressman Daniele Belotti, the whole team of the department for work done over these years, the great league militants and all facebook friends for their support.

"I can't forget my family, without them I wouldn't have come here today because they never stopped supporting me and being close to me!

"Thank you, thank you, thank you! I'm ready, friends!"

He is a member of the anti-migrant League. He was also the Municipal councilor of Spirano in 1995, in 2013 he failed to be elected to the regional in Lombardy, but continued to do politics close to what had become the League of Matteo Salvini.

A long militancy that led the party to nominate him in Bergamo in proportion to the Senate. Third on the list, behind a historic leader like Roberto Calderoli and also Daisy Pirovano, daughter of the former Senator from Bergamo and former mayor of Caravaggio Ettore Pirovano. And it was Calderoli himself, last night, who first called to give him the news that he had been elected. "Hi Senator Iwobi" he told him.

But what does a black man do in the racist League? Toni Iwobi answers: "It's an ancient question, which everyone makes me. And I reply with a question: but is there a "bible", a "written code" that forbids a black person from staying in the League? No, it does not exist. And Italy is a democratic country? It is and I have the freedom to choose who to stay with whom to commit. Who claims that the League is racist is a net mistake: racism means feeling superior to others, while in the movement I find many strong positions, decided, but also a lot of respect, " says Toni Iwobi.

The immediate past Governor of Nasarawa State, Aliyu Akwe-Doma, is dead. He was aged 78.

He died after a brief illness at a foreign hospital in Israel, a nephew, Ahmed Bako, said.

Investigation further revealed that his health condition was said to have worsened in the past one month before he was flown out of the country to Tel-Avivi where he finally gave up.

Former Nasarawa information commissioner, Mamman Alakayi, said in Lafia that Doma died in an Israeli hospital on Tuesday.

Female JAMB Staff Confesses, says N36M ‘Collected By Superior’ & Not Snake

Posted: 07 Mar 2018 12:15 AM PST

Philomina Chieshe, the official of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), who claimed that the exam body's N36 million was swallowed by a snake, has made a U-turn.

Chieshe, who works as a clerk at the JAMB office in Markurdi, Benue state, had told top officials of the board that a "mysterious snake" swallowed the money derived from the sale of JAMB scratch cards.

But when she appeared before the EFCC, she confessed that the money was collected by one Samuel Umoru, her superior.

According to The Nation, the EFCC has interrogated Chieshe on several occasions since she made the ridiculous statement in February.

"The interesting aspect of the disclosure is that Chieshe's statement (on snake swallowing the money) was obtained long before the snake and naira swallowing testimony became public knowledge," an EFCC official was quoted as saying.

"In all her statements before the EFCC, there was no mention of any episode of any snake and the disappearance of monies in her care."

"In a fact-sheet regarding the investigations, Chieshe was quoted to have said her superior — the coordinator at the Markurdi office — had asked her to withdraw the N36 million."

According to the newspaper, the fact-sheet notes that "contrary to her claim before the leadership of the examination body that the N36 million proceeds from sale of scratch cards were eaten up by a snake, Chieshe told operatives of the anti-graft agency that the money was collected piecemeal from her by her coordinator, Mr. Samuel Sale Umoru.

"In one of the statements she volunteered to the EFCC, Chieshe, who is a clerk in the Makurdi office of JAMB, revealed that the coordinator usually asked her to withdraw proceeds of the sale of the scratch cards from her account in two new generation banks — 'this money I withdrew, the coordinator used it for the office and some time for himself."

It also quoted her as saying she had been warning Umoru "that it was improper to use the money for miscellaneous expenses in the office or for private purposes but he would not listen."

The fact-sheet added that the coordinator did not deny the allegations and had been released on administrative bail.

It listed other JAMB officials being probed to include Tanko Labaran, who could not account for N23 million from sale of scratch cards at the Nasarawa office, and Yakubu Jakada who is yet to explain the whereabouts of N20 million e-facilities cards sold in Kano office.

The suspects are said to have been released on bail pending the conclusion of investigation.

Fake EFCC Staff Arraigned In Court For Fraud (Photo)

Posted: 06 Mar 2018 01:25 PM PST

A former Constable of the Nigeria Police posturing as a bonafide staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, David Lohbut Nimdul, was on Tuesday 6 March, 2018 arraigned before Justice Adamu Turaki of the Federal High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on a 1-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false presence to the tune of Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira. (N250, 000.00).

Nimdul was reported to the EFCC by a petitioner who alleged that he was introduced to him as a staff. Based on the introduction, he requested Nimdul to assist in the recovery of a loan of N15,300,000.00k (Fifteen Million, Three Hundred Thousand Naira only) he offered one Patience Amaewhule, a banker with an old generation bank in Port Harcourt.

The banker allegedly obtained the loan from him and promised to pay back in 120 days. However, she failed to keep faith with the promise and Nimdul came on the scene to assist in the recovery of the loan.

Investigations showed that Nimdul ordered the banker to commence the repayment of the loan to the petitioner and directed her to pay an initial sum of N250, 000,.00( Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira only) into his ( Nimdul) bank account, promising that the money would be payed into EFCC's loan recovery account. The petitioner later found out that Nimdul was an impostor and reported him to the Commission.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.

In view of his plea, the prosecution counsel, A. C Chukwuma-Eneh asked for a date for the commencement of trial and the defendant to be remanded in prison custody. However, counsel to the defendant, Martina Okpebko made an oral application for bail which was not granted. She was asked to apply formally.

Justice Turaki adjourned the case to 16 and 17 April, 2018 for trial and ordered that the defendant be remanded in prison custody pending the determination of his bail.

This Young Boy's Intestines Were Pulled Out Of His Body To Save His Life

Posted: 06 Mar 2018 01:25 PM PST

The above pictured 13-year-old boy had to have his intestines pulled out of his body through his belly button to remove magnetic balls he swallowed while using them as a fake 'tongue piercing'.

Harry Clarke, 13, from south London, was in the operating theatre for almost four hours at King's College Hospital after swallowing the balls.

He and his friend Laila Palmer were messing around with the magnets at school after Laila's mother bought them on eBay.

The pair ended up in hospital beds next to each other at the same hospital and both ended up needing surgery.

Laila's surgery was first and they discovered the magnets in her small intestine. They made three incisions and eventually got them out.

But in Harry the magnets were stuck between his large and small intestine and the surgery was almost four hours long.

They could only get the magnets out by pulling his intestine through his belly button and searching for the small metal piece.

Both kids have been given a week off school. Harry was released from hospital on the Monday and is still in pain, while Laila, released on Sunday, has fared better.

Harry's mother Samantha Brinklow, 34, of Streatham, said: 'Leila was at school and she had swallowed them and had thought nothing of it.

'But she then saw Harry in the corridor and he'd swallowed them too and was panicking as he'd spoken to me and I knew it could be dangerous.'

Both parents dialled 111 and were told to report straight to A&E at Kings in nearby Denmark Hill.

'They thought they might just come out, but although I'd given Harry a laxative, that didn't happen,' Ms Brinklow said.

'X-rays showed where they were and then they started talking about surgery. It was scary.'

Schools and hospitals have warned about the magnetic ball bearing craze after several other children were brought into A&E departments across the country having swallowed them.

At least two were left with significant internal damage, as if swallowed separately, the magnets pull through the delicate intestinal lining to get back together.

Children are using them on their tongues, their ears and lips to make it look like they have piercings.

Laila's mother Safiya Palmer, 32, said she had bought the magnets on ebay for less than £10 as she thought they were an educational toy.

There was a warning about not swallowing them, but she says she never thought they would end up near her daughter's mouth.

Now both parents want to see the magnetic balls - which are widely available online - banned.

Mrs Palmer, also of Streatham, said: 'People will have these around the house and not realise how dangerous they are.

'The magnets are so strong that they will literally shred your intestines.

'Rather than selling a product with a warning on, should they be selling it at all?'

Teaching assistant Ms Brinklow added: 'If I was teaching kids about magnets in science classes at school and saw these in a shop, I'd buy them.

'But after what's happened to Harry and Laila it seems absolutely mad that they are on sale at all.'

The problem is clearly affecting children across the country.

Atunyota Akpobome a.k.a Ali Baba, considered to be one of the most successful Nigerian comedians, has said he was once a bus conductor and had done numerous odd jobs before rising to stardom.

Ali Baba - who described himself as hubby, comic, writer, photographer, poet, artist, artiste, actor, motivational speaker, MC and talk show host - shared his 30 years experience in the entertainment industry in a recent interview with Channels TV where he said he came into his profession by accident and shared the good, bad and ugly tales of his career.

VP Osinbajo Insists On 'Private Wedding' For His Daughter?

Posted: 06 Mar 2018 05:20 AM PST

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is said to be insisting on a low-key wedding for his daughter which comes up on March 17.

This is coming against the backdrop of fierce criticism that followed the wedding of the children of the governors of Kano and Oyo states on Saturday.

The ceremony, attended by President Muhammadu Buhari and 22 state governors, drew the ire of critics who felt the kidnap of 110 schoolgirls in Dapchi and an upsurge in Boko Haram killings should have necessitated a sober celebration.

According to The Cable, Osinbajo is said to be concerned about the "mood of the nation" and has warded off pressures to do a "grand wedding" for his daughter, Damilola, who is getting married to Oluseun Bakare, a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God and son of Bola Shagaya, a businesswoman and celebrity.

But expectations that it will be a high-society weeding have been doused.

"Left to the VP and his wife, it would have been the smallest and simplest of ceremonies, taking place in their backyard, especially given the current mood of the nation," a family insider said.

"Nonetheless the VP seems to be swiming against a rather strong tide. For instance the VP's position compels him to inform and invite dignitaries, many of who will cry blue murder if left out of the invitations.

"But for a man known for his unassuming nature and humble mien, these circumstances have invited the dilemma of how to moderate the occasion and balance out the wedding outlook considering the current mood of the nation."

Osinbajo "has firmly concluded" on doing everything, except the church service, within the state house.

"This should by itself limit the crowd and ensure that the event is not blown out of proportion," the source said.

The United Kingdom's Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is on the verge of launching an investigation under the Unexplained Wealth Order after receiving a letter from the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

SR gathered that Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu, President and Deputy President of the Senate respectively, acquired pricey landed properties in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Saraki, at various times governor of Kwara State and Special Assistant to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, is the owner of two London properties valued at about £15million. Sources at the SFO told SaharaReporters that his properties to be investigated are located at No. 7 and 8 Whittaker Street, Belgravia, London.

Mr. Ekweremadu, a former Secretary to the Government and Chief of Staff to the governor of Enugu state. The Senator acquired two properties worth £4m in London via fronts.

The properties are Flat 4 Varsity Court, Homer Street, WIH, 4NW London and 52 Ayleston Avenue NW6 7AB, London. SFO sources said there is a serious curiosity in the agency that Mr. Ike Ekweremadu acquired Flat 4, Varsity Court, Homer Street, WIH 4NW, London, under the guise of Ikeoha Foundation, which is registered with Nigeria's Corporate Affairs Commission as a charity. The property is worth £830, 000.

The Deputy Senate President acquired the second property using a shell company, Property Circle Ltd Incorporated, which was incorporated in the British Virgin Islands. The property is worth £2.9million.

SaharaReporters gathered from SFO operatives that another property in the Varsity Court, purportedly owned by C & V Management Company Ltd and 44 Homer Street purportedly owned by SJW Estates Ltd, incorporated in Jersey, will also be investigated. The value of the property is £18.5million.

In addition to Messrs. Saraki and Ekweremadu, Mr. Bassey Albert Akpan, a senator, is also to be investigated by the SFO. Mr. Akpan, a former Akwa Ibom State Finance Commissioner, disclosed in his assets declaration form dated August 8, 2015, that he owns has a number of landed properties in London. SFO sources said the Mr. Akpan claimed to have acquired the properties through Barclays Bank of London-financed mortgage totaling £1million.

"The SFO will investigate the circumstances under which Senator Bassey Albert Akpan acquired all these landed properties in the United Kingdom. The circumstances are suspicious, taking into account that for the past 10 years, he has always been a public officer and his legitimate earnings are far below the worth of the assets he has acquired in the United Kingdom," said an SFO source.

The SFO source said they have received encouraging cooperation from the Buhari regime explaining that the aforementioned politicians couldn't have afforded the properties through lawful means, the regime in a letter to the SFO detailed their salaries and emoluments as well as revealing that they did not declare the assets as required by law.

A woman who lost her husband to the menacing attacks by irate Fulani herdsmen has opened up to journalists on her pains and agony following the vacuum created by the loss.

Some Nigerian journalists visited Ovre' Abraka to carry out what they called "fact finding" on the Fulani herdsmen killings in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.

Speaking with newsmen, one of the victim who was recently discharged from Oghara Teaching Hospital, Mrs. Akpomiemie narrated her ordeal on how Fulani herdsmen attacked her and her late husband, Mr. Happy Akpomiemie in their farmland.

According to her, "I followed my husband to our cassava farmland to get money to pay for the treatment of our two sons that were involved in motorcycle accident and also to pay for the enrollment fees (WAEC) of our sons, not knowing that Fulani herdsmen will turn me into widow with little children to take care of and right now I hardly work or do anything as a result of the injury I have sustained."

Other farmers and traders who spoke on the menace, urged the Federal Government to employ more efforts to put an everlasting end to this herdsmen problem in order for them to carry out their farming activities without fear.
