How To Succeed In A Corrupt World Where People Are Messing Up For Money Posted: 05 Feb 2018 03:56 AM PST What many people do not know is that, no matter how hard everybody work and hustle, only about 10% will become successful and just 1% will get VERY wealthy. This has always been the case, from generation to generation. That is why you see some people mess up - do fraud, robbery, looting, rituals, sleeping with men - all because of money. Thus destroying their Destiny & Eternity ignorantly. The question is, how can you achieve Good Success and be among the 10%? You have to come from a family that is free from Dark Powers or you seek Right Prayers to free yourself from such; otherwise you'll likely mess up just to make it. The choice is yours, the consequences will be yours, if you choose the right path or the wrong path. Choose wisely! Read the peace below on how to flourish... Work after the Fall: Fallen, Futile, Flourishing God made man and woman in his image for them to be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth, subdue it, and exercise dominion over the animals. Moreover, God put Adam in the garden to work and keep it, and he put the woman in the garden to help the man. When the man and woman sinned against God, they were expelled from his presence... God put enmity between the seed of the Serpent and the seed of the woman, which means that the people who act like the Serpent and rebel against God will be at enmity with those who submit to God and obey him. God made the woman's tasks of bearing children and helping the man more difficult, and he made the man's task more difficult by cursing the ground, making toil painful and sweaty, and expelling man and woman from the garden. How to Flourish in a Fallen World Adam's descendants have been plunged into sin and exiled from Eden, but God gave good instruction for his people. In the teaching of Ecclesiastes and Proverbs, the people of God are taught many things about how to live and work in the fallen world. That teaching on how to work is complemented by the positive example of men who worked well that we have surveyed in our brief consideration of Joseph, Daniel, and Nehemiah. If we were to summarize the instructions and the examples, we might say something like this: know God in all your ways (Prov. 3:5). Enjoy your work and its fruits as God's gift to you (cf. the seven statements to this effect in Ecclesiastes). Hope in the promises and bless the world (Gen. 12:1-3). Live and work the way that Joseph, Daniel, and Nehemiah did: seeking to hallow God's name and to see his kingdom come and his will be done — in reliance on him for daily bread, forgiveness of sin, and deliverance from evil — for his is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Work under the Old Covenant We have not looked at everything the Old Testament has to say on the topic of work post-fall and pre-Christ, but from what we have encountered we can accurately summarize the biblical authors' perspective on work in the old-covenant era. In terms of the wider narrative, we have seen that man's responsibility to work and to image forth God's character in work was not abrogated by his sin and expulsion from the garden. God's instructions and presence with his people provide the gracious help necessary for man's tasks, and those who embrace biblical wisdom will themselves understand and help others to do the same (Dan. 11:33; 12:10). The Bible's instructions for work enable those who believe to experience God's presence and blessing though exiled from Eden. God's judgment on sin in Genesis 3:14–19 touches every area of life, and in the lives of Joseph, Daniel, and Nehemiah we see how the enmity between the seed of the Serpent and the seed of the woman extends even to the work the righteous seek to do. Joseph's brothers ended his career as a shepherd. Daniel's enemies sought to thwart him and keep him from working and even living. And Nehemiah's enemies tried to distract him, intimidate him, ambush him, and sabotage him as he worked. Bit by working with integrity in obedience to God's commands, by relying on the Lord and crying out to him in prayer, and by believing God's promises, these men fixed their hearts on the city that has foundations (cf. Heb. 11:10, 16) and sought the welfare of the city in which God had placed them. Their work pointed beyond itself as they sought to exemplify God's character in what they did. By imaging forth God's likeness, they typified the one who was to come, the one who would build God's temple and rule God's kingdom. These anticipatory types of Christ — Joseph, Daniel, and Nehemiah — were imitators of God in their work, and they are examples for us. [written by James M. Senate Not For Young Nigerians - Ex Governor Jonah Jang Posted: 05 Feb 2018 02:31 AM PST Senator Jonah Jang at the weekend reportedly said the Nigerian Senate is for people with experience and not for younger people. While speaking in an interview at the weekend, the senator representing Plateau North said he will not hand over to a younger person in 2019 as according to him, the "Senate is not for young people." The former governor's statement was directed at his political proteges who are warming up to contest for the Senate seat in the next general elections in the hope that Jang who is over 70 might not re-contest. According to Vanguard, the Senator said that young people should start from the House of Reps, as "the Senate is not good for young people, only the House of Representatives is good enough." There are also indications that some of them are ready to slug it out with the senator in the event that he does not retire from politics as they believe "his political weight has diminished since he left the Plateau Government House as governor and that he can be defeated giving the new realignments in the state." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Obasanjo's Son "Abandons" Matrimonial Home Just 7 Months After Wedding Posted: 05 Feb 2018 12:07 AM PST A warning not to get married to a man or woman from a true Prophet of God due to spiritual issues is not something anyone should joke with, or listen to a regular Pastor who doesn't see things of the Spirit but will tell you to go ahead that nothing will happen. Hmmm! Principalities and powers are not easy to defeat permanently. Once you get in; you defeat them today, they return tomorrow. That's how bad Dark Powers are and the reason many keep struggling despite going to some churches for prayer. It's better you don't go in, otherwise you'll be fighting battles to free your destiny and your spouse for a long time. Be very careful with marriage warning and be sure you get prayers from a Servant of God with "authentic anointing", if you must go ahead with the wedding. Anyway, Olujowon, the son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has reportedly abandoned his matirmonial home. He got married to Tope Adebutu, daughter of billionaire businessman, Kessington Adebutu, in May 2017, despite open warnings from his mother that there is danger ahead. Read excepts of The Sun's interview with his mum, Mrs. Taiwo Obasanjo: Do you think it was the spiritual message you received that was responsible for the breakdown of the marriage? I don't know whether the marriage has broken down or not because the young man lives with his father in Abeokuta while I live in Lagos. So, I think you should direct that question to my son's father and his wife. I am asking them both where my son is? That was why I went to the police to make reports last year. I saw my son once before the wedding when he came to tell me that, 'Mummy I am going ahead whether you support me or not'. He defied my orders and that was why I didn't attend the wedding. Everyone said they were above the almighty God who gave the message and I am nothing because they are the ones controlling things. Are you saying the marriage has not broken down? I don't know whether the marriage has broken down and I said I don't live with them. The only time I went there was last year after the wedding. Daddy OBJ called me after the wedding, I didn't even want to pick his call but later I did and he said he wanted to reconcile us all. Then I went and he was asking me why I didn't come for my son's wedding. My two children apologized to me and we made peace that time. I also saw him when I went for a programme, which my Uncle Professor Sunbo Martins had, which was a book launch. That was last year. From that time to this time, I haven't seen my son. He doesn't pick my call and how did I know about this? It was even his wife that called because each time he runs from his matrimonial house, his wife will now phone me and start asking about him. Every time this happens, she calls and this one happened since November last year, till now I don't know where my son is. That was why I went to the police. People might say whatever they want to say, I don't care, but I am a mother and I care about my son's welfare. They say I am interfering but is it interference to ask if your son is okay. I called daddy OBJ and he didn't pick my call. Daddy OBJ was picking my call before now and we were speaking. We talk, we chat and I see him but since that matter happened, now I called and he didn't pick. So, I went to see Daddy Adebutu with my family because it was very surprising to me because from November the woman said she had not seen my son. I even went to Tope Adebutu's house where she lives with her mother. Are you saying that she has also moved out of her matrimonial home? I don't know oh! When I was asking she was the one that told me that she is in Ikoyi with her mother so I went there to see her. She told me she has not seen my son since November so I started asking people about this. If I don't know the whereabouts of my son, should I just fold my arms and watch? Does that make me a responsible mother? I don't stay close to them. Moreover, Abeokuta to Lagos is not one-minute drive and since they got married I have never interfered and I don't go there. So the young man has gone into hiding and this is not the first time this is happening. He has been running away from this girl, he would disappear and then when they settle the matter he will come back home. Now everybody said they are tired because every time they are always quarrelling. You mentioned earlier that you called daddy Obasanjo but he has not been picking your calls. Does it mean that he held you responsible for the problem in the marriage? He is the one that should be held responsible for whatever problem now because I heard that this young man has been reporting this matter to his father. This girl has been threatening his life, and many times he will run away from her. This even happened two weeks before the wedding. When daddy OBJ called, I told him, go and look for my son because this game you are playing I don't understand. How can a former head of state say that he doesn't know where my son is? I said please nothing must happen to my son and I am going to cry out to the whole world to hear about it. I didn't understand why he was phoning me and my son's wife too called me. Right now they don't know where my son is and that was why I went to the police. My son has become a fugitive hiding and daddy OBJ is insisting he stays married to this girl. There must be a reason and I don't know the reason because he doesn't come to me or visit me and he doesn't tell me anything. He has never told me he had a problem with this girl and so I became scared when I heard. Why should my son be intimidated to submit to his wife? Is it not the wife that should submit to her husband? They said the girl has been maltreating my son so much and his father his aware. He reports this girl and his father is insisting that he stays married to the girl. He has been inflicting a lot of humiliation on the young man. There are occasions when she slapped him. Can you imagine a woman slapping her husband? She disgraces him, pulls his shirt and threatens him. She tells him that she would ruin him and all manner of humiliation. She said she didn't know that she married a 419, that it was only the name that the Obasanjo's family have, that they don't have money. She is just a carbon copy of her mother. His mother joins in cursing and thretening him which his wife also does to him at home. He has been seriously battered and that is why he is running away from his wife. How can a man be running away from his wife and they are insisting he stays with this jewel of destruction? And daddy OBJ does not deem it fit… All he cares about is that he should stay married to her. Why do you think he is insisting that they stay together despite their problems? That is what I don't know but I think it is because they are both from big families and if the marriage should break up it will become a scandal. But I am afraid for my son because we are in an era now where wives kill their husbands. So my son should stay in an unhappy marriage and whereas he has refused to make up with his first wife? He said he will never make up with her and he said he can never submit to her, that he is the head of the family. So why should he be insisting that my son should submit to his wife? culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Here Are Reactions Trailing IBB's Letter To Buhari Posted: 05 Feb 2018 12:07 AM PST The Action Democratic Party (ADP) has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to listen to the wise counsel of former President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida not to seek reelection in 2019, he should rather prepare to hand over to a much younger person who can move the nation forward. But the All Progressives Congress (APC) said it will only respond to the content of the letter if there is the need to do so after studying it. National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi told The Nation on phone: "I don't have any comment because I have not read the letter. After reading it and there is the need to respond to it, I will do that". However, in a statement signed by its National secretary, Dr.James Okoroma, the ADP said history will be kind to the former President for speaking out against what he described as leadership failure of President Buhari. Okoroma said the former President was "clinical in his presentation by touching on the economy, pervasive insecurity, bloodletting across the country , devolution of powers, community Policing and restructuring." "Babangida's declaration that restructuring can no longer be wished away shows that there is hope for Nigeria. Those who thought that Buhari's actions and segregation had the blessings of the entire North, can now heave a sigh of relief with a serious opposition coming from another Northern leader of Babangida's status." While aligning with the former President in appealing to President Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019, the ADP scribe said: "Babangida was one of those who fought to keep Nigeria one, he cannot keep quiet while Buhari destroys the country through divisive and nepotistic leadership. Today, we are losing our Country on a account of Buhari's misrule which has set the Country backward." "Babangida's advice that the war against Boko Haram be taken to the inner recesses of Sambisa Forest should be hidden. "Babangida spoke as a Patriot. He offered solution to every problem he identified in his statement. He has spoken as one of the Fathers of modern Nigeria. The issues he has raised should engage the attention of all Patriots. "History will be kind to IBB for speaking up against the leadership failure under President Muhammad Buhari. From all indications, the Buhari Government is a monumental failure and a disappointment to all Nigerians". The Nigeria Intervention Movement (NIM) in its reactionn said the position expressed by the former President is a tacit endorsement of its agenda to recruit, groom and position credible fresh breed successor Leaders for the 2019 elections. NIM's Deputy Director General, Mallam Naseer Kura commended what he described as IBB's strategic intervention on the crisis of leadership and politics rocking Nigeria. He said NIM is also compelled by the dearth of real political parties in the country to facilitate a major Rainbow political platform, modeled after the ANC of South Africa, to undertake the grooming of its adopted candidates for the 2019 elections. Kura further asserted that "with this crucial endorsement of the third force initiative of NIM by IBB and other Eminent Leaders of the country, it means the time has come for fresh breed third force ideologues to rise up and take over the mantle of leadership to lead the country out of the present woods of political inertia and impunity, while also not shying away from NIM's core agenda for profound democratic reordering of the Nigerian State come 2019." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Don't Top-up Your Radiator With Water, Use Engine Coolant Posted: 04 Feb 2018 06:01 AM PST The radiator is the major part of your vehicle that ensures that heat which is the by-product of engine combustion is dissipated into the surrounding air. Engine coolant is the liquid mixture formulated to convey the excess heat from the engine to the radiator. Our tropical weather dishes out constant punishment to car engines in form of extreme daily temperatures. It is not only engine oil level that needs regular checks. Engine coolant is also a vital determinant of your engine's health. To meet the power requirements of your vehicle, Fuel/air mixture is ignited in the engine cylinders by the spark plugs. The resultant combustion is what pushes the cylinders down to be converted to rotary force by the crankshaft. The unwanted by-product is heat. Some of this heat passes out through the exhaust system and some are retained in the engine block. Temperature in the combustion chamber can easily reach 4000°F or more. This heat is a waste product of the power being produced. If left undissipated, the engine will quickly overheat and may result in seized pistons or blown gaskets. Since the surrounding air is much cooler than the heated coolant in the radiator, the heat is dissipated by the action of air being blown on the radiator during driving. This is further enhanced by the action of a radiator fan that accelerates the volume of air being blown on the radiator. There are passageways for engine coolant in the engine block and cylinder head, Hoses and pipings are then used to convey the hot coolant to the radiator. The radiator contains piping and vanes conveying hot engine coolant from the engine which is cooled and recycled back to engine in an endless cycle to protect the engine from overheating. Manufacturers recommend that you top up your engine with engine coolant and NOT water. Water boils at around 100° C, or 212° F, boiling water can damage the engine. A good engine coolant will raise this boiling point to around 240° C (464° F). Water will also corrode your engine's coolant passageway. The benefits of using engine coolant includes prevention of rust and corrosion in the metallic and rubber components of the engine that they come in contact with, and a higher boiling point that is much desired in a hot environment like ours. It is good practice to check your coolant level and possible leakages weekly and to keep an eye on your engine temperature gauge while driving. Engine coolant contains heat-inhibiting additives and are sometimes coloured green or blue. Although other colours might be available. Your car might also have a reservoir for coolant, in which case you might be advised to top-up the reservoir and not the radiator directly. In the unforeseen occurrence that your engine overheats and you are forced to top up with water as an emergency coolant, your coolant will have been diluted and may not provide the protection you expect. Visit an automobile shop as soon as possible to have the entire coolant replaced. by Akin Louis culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

If Tinubu Leaves, That Is The End of Buhari's Regime - Falola Posted: 04 Feb 2018 05:26 AM PST The exit of APC national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been touted as an end to the political reign of President Muhammadu Buhari which is expected to be extended in 2019, by his party. A professor of History at the University of Texas, Toyin Falola, tells Olufemi Atoyebi of The Punch that Buhari runs the risk of losing popularity before the 2019 elections. Excerpts: Do you think the cattle colony proposal of the Federal Government can solve the problem of frequent killings by Fulani herdsmen? It is a very dumb idea. I think the government is not going to do that because you cannot go to other people's land and turn it to a colony for people who do not belong there to stay. Government can come to the southern states that have land and speak to the farmers there to plant grass. Someone, who has interest in trucks can create transport companies to move hay to the North for the herdsmen's cattle. That is a win-win situation where the farmers benefit and the northerners keep their cattle in their region. There is no power in the world that allows someone to create a colony on someone's land. Traditionally, land in Nigeria is part of identity. It is part of what our people use to develop themselves. I cannot just go to Kogi State and say that I am giving your land to Fulani people. The Oyo State governor cannot go to Ogbomoso and tell the people that he is giving their land to Fulani people; that action is a recipe for disaster. There is something else that the government must do quickly, which is to disarm people with AK-47 rifles. The government, through the police and the army, has the power to disarm them. That has to be done fundamentally. You and I cannot carry guns and be moving around. Why are these small Fulani boys allowed to carry guns on people's farms and they are not arrested? There is something we call the nuclear option in politics. If everything has been tried and it does not work, people in Benue State and other areas, where Fulani people are killing, will buy weapons to protect themselves. They will turn themselves into militia and protect themselves and we will have a state of anarchy. If I am a Tiv, Igala or Igede, what am I going to do? Am I going to allow them to be killing my people? Instead of reaching a state of anarchy, the government should disarm everybody. The other way out of it is the boycott option. If the people in the South refuse to eat beef and suya in three months, the business of these Fulani people will collapse. People have also come up with the idea of restructuring as a lasting solution to the problem. What is your idea of restructuring? Restructuring can come in two ways. The government can manage it or the people will do the ultimate thing by restructuring the system. You don't need permission to restructure. You can do it fundamentally. As citizens or a group of people, you can decide how you want to live. The system can also restructure itself. But the most peaceful one is for the state to do it as an agenda or clever programme. Bear in mind that African history is full of people taking over to restructure their lives. I spent two years in high school and I joined the Agbekoya movement. I did not finish high school because I was part of the Agbekoya rebellion as a teenager. That was a restructuring agenda that challenged giving our cocoa money to politicians. You saw how the Agbekoya movement restructured the system in Nigeria. The people warned them but they did not listen. For three years, we made the Western Region ungovernable. That forced the government to reduce farmers' tax and later abolished it. That was a people's revolution taking over. If the government of President Muhammadu Buhari is not careful, it will find itself in a situation it cannot manage as the people fundamentally begin to take the law into their own hands. We should appeal to him not to allow that to happen. What do you make of the special statement issued by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, warning Buhari not to contest again? Two things culminated in this anger that the Buhari government brought upon itself. Buhari's policy of using his own ethnic people as heads of security (agencies) of Nigeria and not talking about it means that he has a political agenda. During the holidays, when people wanted to go for Christmas, there was fuel scarcity. There is nothing that Obasanjo said in the letter that people have not said – the reckless devaluation of the currency, joblessness, unemployment, political mismanagement, and so on – people have complained about them. At the time he wrote the letter, Punch wrote an editorial where all these were mentioned. The only thing that is different is Obasanjo's policy statement – that the All Progressives Congress is not working and the Peoples Democratic is not working; so, we need a third party. The way he structured this third party resembles the APC that he said is not working and the PDP that will not work. Obasanjo had three opportunities to select good leaders. He brought a dying man called (Umaru) Yar'Adua and the weak man called (Goodluck) Jonathan and he was part of the selection process of the man called Buhari. Why should we trust him to select another person? We don't know what Bola Tinubu will do because if he says that he will not support Buhari, the South-West is gone. Already the South-South, South-East, Middle Belt and the Kanuri are gone. The Boko Haram insurgency is a (source of) deep anger of the Kanuri against the Fulani that has merged into the pre-existing Boko Haram issue. The conflict between the Kanuri and the Fulani dates back to the time that the caliphate was established. Uthman Dan Fodio established the caliphate. When he wanted to conquer the Kanuri, they refused, which led to the collapse of the dynasty and the emergence of the current dynasty. An anti-Fulani movement is already building in the North-East. Once Tinubu leaves him, that is the end of his regime. That is one scenario. The second scenario is that he (Buhari) controls the whole security apparatus and the Independent National Electoral Commission. He will drop electronic voting and win the election. You don't have to ask me why. He only has to fill the ballot boxes and he is back in Aso Rock. So, he also has his own nuclear option which is 'if you don't want me, I can rig the election'. He has the power to do that. In the next 12 months, there will be no governance in Nigeria. What we are going to have is politicking; nobody will be talking about development anymore. They will talk about it as empty promises, which is what they are clever at doing. History seems to be in extinction in secondary schools, but it is still a course in tertiary institutions. Are you not worried? History is back in our secondary schools now, thanks to the likes of Prof. Chris Ogbogbo. We cannot thank him enough. I led a delegation to Obasanjo and later some professors went to (former President Goodluck) Jonathan. They promised to do something about the subject in secondary schools but they did nothing. Buhari said history would be back and he delivered. The Historical Society of Nigeria under Prof. Ogbogbo is putting together a syllabus at the state and national levels. We are grateful that this is back. Will this syllabus be a replica of the old syllabus that taught the ancient history or will it be an updated syllabus? It will be a combination of both because they are all useful. The mistake they made in the past was that they did not tell us why they were teaching us what they taught us. I was part of those who drew the history examination for West African Examination Council and I wrote three volumes that they were using in schools but there was a fundamental flaw in what we did. We were teaching the pupils narrative history. We were not telling them the reason for what we were teaching them. The syllabus now must be clear on nation-building. If the core politicians have failed Nigerians, why are the intellectuals taking the back seat? That idea has been nursed but Nigerian politics is all about money. On the day of the presidential election, if you don't have up to N1bn, you have no hope of winning. You man polling booths with police, thugs and you pay electoral officers. I am aware of how much a presidential candidate spent on an election day. The system is over-monetised, even the media. You cannot just call Prof. Wole Soyinka to come and contest because where is the money? We have to remove that money from that process. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Wife of Boko Haram Top Doctor Surrenders To Soldiers Posted: 04 Feb 2018 04:56 AM PST Rabi Abu-Yasir, wife of Boko Haram's chief physician has surrendered to the troops of Operation Lafiya Dole, in the ongoing clearance operation to route out remnants of the terrorists. Maj.-Gen. Rogers Nicholas, the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole, made the disclosure while handing over 82 women and children rescued from the insurgents' captivity to the Borno State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), in Maiduguri. Rabi told newsmen that her husband was the medical doctor to the insurgents' leader, Abubakar Shekau. She said that she was rescued on Friday after the troops dislodged the insurgents' enclaves in Sambisa Forest. Recounting her ordeal, Rabi said that unlike her peers, she enjoyed preferential treatment and privileges in view of her position as a wife to the physician. "My husband, Abu-Yasir, is Shekau's physician, he also treat patients and conduct surgical operation. "My type of food and other consumables are better from what they gave out to other women and children in the camps. "We suffered in their hands and they warned us that Nigerian troops will kill anybody who surrender to them. "They always told us to stay with them and encouraged us not to submit to the troops. "The military are taking care of us, as against the wrong notion the insurgents made us to believe," she said. Rabi lauded the military for the rescue operation and called on the abducted persons still in the bush to come out and surrender to the troops. Nicholas explained that Rabi was among the 84 civilians rescued by the troops. He disclosed that eight of the 84 rescued persons were currently receiving treatment at the Nigerian Air Force Medical facility in Maiduguri. The commander noted that the abducted persons were subjected to inhuman treatment in the hands of the insurgents. Nicholas said that the abductees were rescued after troops dislodged and occupied Shekau's group operational headquarters deep in Sambisa Forest. He revealed that the troops had destroyed insurgents' hideouts, vehicles and ammunition, while hundreds of insurgents surrendered and over 100 civilians were rescued. According to him, the command would profile the rescued persons for rehabilitation and de-radicalisation for reintegration into the society. "I call on those still in the bush to come out; we are not killing anybody, we are here to rescue and assist you". culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
