Because these are backlogs of unemployed and unemployable citizens for over 20 years and counting. These are the types that will cast votes for you for an exchange of a 5kg bag of rice. Why? Because they are down to their last hope. I tell many people. A citizen who gets good primary education will be triggered to get secondary education. At worst they will do better at Vocational schools. But once there is no foundational education, as basic as A is for Apple and 1+1=2 and all elementary teachings, the brain is locked out of the growth process. Because that basic education is what all other things are built on. Look at the pictures, you see popularity... I see thousands who can be used by anyone who has plans that will not benefit this country. Let's begin to educate the child. The educated child will understand policies. The educated child will become a good citizen. The educated child will grow up to contribute to Nigerian economy. What do I know Sef? The painting — one of fewer than 20 works generally accepted as being by the Renaissance master, according to Christie's — was bought by little-known Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Farhan al-Saud, reports say. The Journal reported that Bader was the nominal buyer, but said MBS was identified in US intelligence reports as the true owner. "He is a proxy for MBS," an unnamed figure in the Gulf art world told the Journal. American officials are keeping close tabs on the crown prince, the paper said, citing unnamed sources. On Wednesday, the Louvre Abu Dhabi announced that the record-breaking Da Vinci painting would be displayed there. "Salvator Mundi" — dated to around 1500 — is the last known Da Vinci in the hands of a private collector. According to him, he was just doing his job and does not support Atiku Abubakar. "I do not want to start an argument or insult anyone but it is sad that you see doing my job professionally as support for Atiku or others.He wrote via twitter, "Most opinions are sentimental; I was very sentimental when I supported Buhari against Jonathan but my sentiment was never a blank cheque! "I supported APC candidate for President but never joined the party because that was not my motive or mission for supporting Buhari. | Atiku gets red card | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 08 Dec 2017 12:56 AM PST  Atiku who defected last week from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) met behind closed doors with Babangida only to emerge with stone face after an hour and half. Journalists and his supporters were on Thursday taken aback when they saw Atiku wearing a long face, an indication that all is not well. He had visited Babangida in his Minna mansion with a retinue of supporters and journalists to seek support of the retired general for his 2019 presidential aspiration. Atiku, is reported to have arrived Minna airport to a cheerful reception from his supporters. Indications earlier emerged that PDP was not going to give Atiku waiver as a presidential candidate. Atiku may have to go into primaries with the present Chairman of the party, Alhaji Ahmed Makarfi and former Jigawa governor Sule Lamido and governor of Ekiti state, Mr. Ayodele Fayose. | I retired voluntarily -Justice Ademola | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 08 Dec 2017 12:21 AM PST  But Chief Robert Clarke, SAN, a counsel to Justice A. Ademola reacting stated that the Judge retired voluntarily, immediately he was freed by the court of any infractions over the allegations levied against him by the government. A Federal High Court, FHC, in Abuja had cleared Justice Adeniyi Ademola and his wife, Olabowale, of charges of corruption brought against them by the Attorney General of the Federation. Chief Clarke in a telephone interview with Vanguard correspondent noted that, "Justice Ademola who was approaching the voluntary retirement age, resigned moment he was absolved of any wrong doings by the court. Though I am not aware of any compulsory retirement as you mentioned now, but all what I know was that he was absolved by the court of any wrong doings. As it is, he is not found guilty of any offence(s), so I would not know of any compulsory retirement owing to wrong doings. "He retired voluntarily, which I believed he reserved the right to do so. And I am not aware of any appeal against the judgment of the Federal High Court, this is because I am not aware that they compile any record of the court proceedings fortheir appeal. Thank you." The Council which is headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, said it found the two Judges guilty of engaging in acts of judicial misconduct. Justice Ademola who was among eight superior court judges that were arrested after a "sting operation" the Department of State Service, DSS, conducted in October last year, had attempted to outsmart the NJC by voluntarily resigning from the bench late Wednesday night. He swiftly leaked his resignation letter dated December 6 to the press around 12 midnight on Wednesday. However, the NJC, in a statement that was signed by its Director of Information, Mr. Soji Oye, maintained that Justice Ademola's action was belated. The legal body said it had already written to President Muhammadu Buhari, recommending that the Judge must immediately proceed on compulsory retirement eventhough he would actually be officially due for retirement on April 8, 2018, when he would have clocked the 65 years mandatory retirement age. However, NJC acknowledged that Justice Ademola had previously on October 10, forwarded to it, his notice of retirement against next year. The Council said its decision to compulsorily remove Ademola from the bench was pursuant to findings on allegation contained in a petition that was written against him by a group of 8 persons under the name of Committee of Anambra State PDP House of Representatives Members-Elect. The kidnappers made contact with Sango's family yesterday afternoon and demanded N100 million ransome. The state party Publicity Secretary, John Akans confirmed the ransom demand but stated that state party officials were yet to take any decision as national officers of the party were handling the matter. | 5000 Nigerians trapped in Libyan camps | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 07 Dec 2017 09:01 PM PST  He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN):"there is a camp with 5000 Nigerians and we need the diplomatic police to escort us to extract them. `There are various camps in the regions of South, West and East of Libya. The charge d'affaires said the Nigerian government had been in talks with the recognised government in Tripoli on how to reach some of the camps to extract its nationals. Fachano called for the provision of a bigger aircraft to evacuate Nigerians who has have agreed to come back home. "We need the Nigerian government to better fund its embassy in Libya and send the aircraft.He called on the UN to help out by sponsoring repatriation flights, provide food and health materials for the migrants. The charge d'affaires said the Federal Government had so far repatriated 3250 from Libya in recent times. This is even as 300 other Nigerians are to be repatriated f every week. Fachano said the government would continue to make efforts to save Nigerians that are trapped in Libya.
