U.S. policemen fight dirty at crime scene | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 13 Nov 2017 03:08 AM PST Two U.S. police team in Detroit have engaged each other in a brawl after an operation to arrest drug dealers and their customers failed. Detroit Police Department has in the meantime commenced internal investigation into the incident as it wondered why two different precincts should engage each other on an east side neighbourhood. Trouble started when the two special ops officers from the 12th Precinct were operating a "push off" on Andover near Seven Mile. Two undercover officers had pretended to be dope dealers, waiting for eager customers to approach, arresting potential buyers and seizing their vehicles. But this time instead of customers – special ops officers from the 11th Precinct showed up. Not realising they were fellow officers, they ordered the other undercover officers to the ground. FOX 2 is told the rest of the special ops team from the 12th Precinct showed up, and officers began raiding the drug house in the 19300 block of Andover. But instead of fighting crime, officers from both precincts began fighting with each other. Sources say guns were drawn and punches were thrown while the homeowner stood and watched. The department's top cops were notified along with Internal Affairs. One officer was taken to the hospital. Each officer involved is now under investigation – as the department tried to determine what went wrong. "You have to have more communication," said the resident. "I don't understand what happened about that – communicate." FOX 2 is told one of the units had body camera video that detailed the entire incident. That is now part of the internal investigation and we are working to get our hands on it. culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |
Accident Victim Heading to Hospital Involved In An Accident Posted: 13 Nov 2017 03:06 AM PST A lady, Jane Chile, took to her page to share a testimony on behalf of a stranger who was involved in an accident with her child who suffered a broken bone from a previous accident. Read how she chronicled the unfortunate incident... "In the case I haven't testified this year, God please forgive me. Today I am testifying on behalf of a total stranger. May God be praised So on my way back from church, this was what we saw in front of our compound. This woman requested for Uber to take her child with broken bone as a result of prior accident to the hospital, the Uber picked them up and on getting to this sloppy part of my street, inclining the road, tragedy struck. The car started rolling back, according to the driver, his gear stopped responding and the car rolled back with speed and buried itself to the wall. The miraculous thing here is, it dodged the electric pole right beside the wall, dodge the bigger slope down that led to a dead end, went in between the wall and the pole and lodges inside the gateman post. You might not understand this but if it had gone left through the dead end slope, it would have been dead bodies. Amazingly, they all came out with just scratches. I had a little chat with the Uber rider about the damage to his car, if he has the comprehensive insurance, he told me they have a way of bypassing the requirements these days. I wanted to write about how disappointed I am with Uber recruiters and the reduction of their standard then it occurred to me that this can also happen to a standard car. I decided to thank God for all lives saved and thank him again for not giving us a blooded Sunday to remember. It is well with us all." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Corper Brutalized By Police In Katsina, His Pastor Flogged Posted: 13 Nov 2017 03:06 AM PST As shared by the victim John "Genesis" Okpo... Is this the NYSC Katsina I dreamt of? I never stole. I never fought or quarrelled with anyone. We had just closed from Friday church service around 7:50pm, some were having some discussions with the pastor on our way home. Before we knew it, someone gripped me and another by our waist belts. It's the police. We tried to explain, "we're corpers!" "we just left the church now!" Instead of listening to us, another came, gave us hot slaps and forced us to enter their pickup. Our pastor tried to get attention to explain we were together, they whipped him with 'koboko' ryt in our presence. About 30 of us were taken to the police station. I identified myself with every I.D card I had. But nevertheless we were thrown into a stinking, cold, mosquito-infested cell room to sleep on bare floor. About 14hrs later (d next day). I became worried and agitated, I begged them to make phone call. They refused. So I requested that my offences be read to me because I was already in a cell for hours. I told them I have a right to a phone call and to know my offence. I have never had a police case and I'm suffering this much for serving this country. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

LOL! Obiano says "Obaze Should Be in Syria, Chidoka Should Be Controlling Traffic" Posted: 13 Nov 2017 02:21 AM PST Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra on Sunday took a sly dig at his opponents during the governorship debate organised on Sunday by Channels Television. Obiano aimed digs at the PDP candidate, Oseloka Obaze and the UPP candidate, Osita Chidoka. Obiano, who is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) argued that none of those out to boot him out of power were competent to be governor and that they were better off doing something else. He also accused them of lacking facts about the state even though Obaze, a former diplomat at the United Nations, served under him as Secretary to the State Government for more than a year. "By the way, what Anambra requires is somebody that can drive the process and I am the only guy here that can do so. Tony (Nwoye) doesn't have the executive capacity, he hasn't worked in his entire life. "My good friend Oseloka Obaze worked in the UN, but the best place for him to work now is in Syria – to be distributing relief materials," he said. He also said Chidoka who was in-charge of Federal Road Safety should be busy controlling traffic. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Presidency Replies Sule Lamido For Attacking Buhari Posted: 13 Nov 2017 01:56 AM PST The Presidency has described former Jigawa State governor, Sule Lamido, as intellectually and morally bankrupt for daring to criticise President Buhari's anti-corruption war in recent media interviews. The presidency said, "It is only in Nigeria that a leader will divert money belonging to the public into his children's account and then turn round to start pontificating on public morals, in the process subjecting the nation's honest leadership to daily attacks based on falsehood." The SSA to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said this in a statement in Abuja. He said the attacks on the president by the PDP's presidential aspirant "is a reflection of the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of the opposition in the country." He raised the alarm over what he described as a grand plan by politicians seeking the destruction of national institutions, such as the courts, the EFCC and everything good that the nation stands for. The presidential spokesman said, "It is even worse that such a person, facing criminal prosecution, will start going round saying he wants to be President. "Is this not one of the reasons why other countries are laughing at Nigeria? This is hooliganism. It is not opposition politics." He added, "The nation's war against corruption as spearheaded by the EFCC, was incidentally formulated by the past PDP administration. It is a tragic irony that the leaders of the same party are doing their utmost to weaken or destroy it. Is that why he is seeking to lead the country? "Time and again, President Buhari lamented that strongmen destroyed the country's strong institutions and that it will take strong men to rebuild them. "He deserves the support of everyone to rebuild such institutions because they serve a common good." Appealing to opposition politicians to give Buhari support, he said, "In his diatribe published in a national newspaper (not The PUNCH) last week, it is clear that the former governor not only set out to mock the President but the judiciary and important national institutions as part of an orchestrated plot to divert public attention from his scam-related cases. "If President Buhari's war against corruption, as he said, is a mockery, what does one say of former governor Lamido's sworn efforts to sabotage the country's efforts to rid itself of the cancer of corruption? "If accountability of public officials is the very essence of a mature democracy, it is, indeed, ironic that a politician seeking the leadership of the country is making a mockery of public institutions and the leaders seeking to entrench them. "Nigeria settled for President Buhari as the watchman of their common wealth. The citizens are happy with that and the whole world is applauding. "African Union just named him as the champion of the war against corruption. Opposition politicians like ex-governor Lamido need to come to terms with the fact that their act needs updating." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
Buhari Approves New 2,250 Job Slots For EFCC Posted: 13 Nov 2017 01:21 AM PST As part of plans to beef up the anti-graft war, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved 2,250 job slots for the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Consequently, the EFCC is expected to recruit 750 new employees per annum over three years. The anti-graft agency in collaboration with the Federal Character Commission (FCC) has started the recruitment test nationwide based on the zonal offices of the EFCC in order to create a level-playing ground for candidates. The commission was also said to have resorted to zonal basis in order to avoid a repeat of the stampede which affected a similar exercise in the Nigerian Immigration Service. The President approved the slots to increase the commission's number of core and support staff since the anti-graft war is moving to the next stage. It was however learnt that some highly-placed Nigerians want the recruitment to hold in Abuja so as to be able to wield influence. A document obtained by our correspondent indicated that the EFCC has written to the Federal Character Commission (FCC) and obtained approval to go ahead with the recruitment. The document showed that each zonal recruitment test is being coordinated by a Director of EFCC, two commissioners from the EFCC and other top staff of the anti-graft agency. A source, who spoke in confidence, said: "The approval letter was specific that we should employ at least 750 workers per year for the next three years. We have brought this approval to the notice of the relevant committees in the National Assembly. There is no question of secret or under-the-table recruitment. "We decided to take the recruitment process to the zonal offices to create a level-playing ground for all. And given the high number of applicants, we chose zonal procedure to avoid recruitment stampede, "But we are not waiving our recruitment procedures under any guise for the new hands. Apart from screening their certificates, we subject them to covert investigation and ask them to write tests. "In order to be fair to all candidates, we are conducting the recruitment process at our zonal offices and after selecting the best, the relevant desks at the headquarters will further evaluate their performance based on our tight regulations. "At the end of the day, the best candidates will proceed to the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna for training. Also, it was learnt that Magu has drawn only 37% of the N150million security votes appropriated for the EFCC chairman in 2017. This is contrary to insinuations that he had been getting N15million monthly as security votes. An official source said: "The records are clear. With a month left to the end of the year, Magu has only collected 37 per cent of the statutory N150million security votes (per year) for the office of the EFCC chairman. This is the least the commission has ever recorded." culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Kalu was said to have had regular s*xual inter-course with children aged 12 to 15 before his arrest. Northern City News gathered that the father of three, who allegedly abandoned his family, hailed from Ohafia, Abia State and lived in Minna. Kalu said that he had been engaging in the act for over two years. He denied engaging in sodomy for ritual purposes, saying it was only for pleasure as he enjoyed doing the act with young boys. Kalu said, "I was doing it for pleasure. I started having the urge to sleep with little boys in my late 50s and now it has ruined my entire life. "I have rubbished my life and my reputation, I can't even start to talk about this or how I started it in the first place. "It is evil. I pray that my children and my community will forgive me. I have been into this heinous act before I was apprehended by a team of police operatives in Minna. " Kalu blamed himself for the act, saying, "I don't deserve mercy at all, let the law take its course; I am stupid, honestly." He added, "I don't know what came over me; each time I see small boys, I would be tempted to have s*xual inter-course with them. I don't know whether it is a curse placed on me. I usually entice my victims with money." The police command's Public Relations Officer, Abigail Unaeze, said the suspect was arrested for sodomising the teenager at Railway Quarters, Minna, the state capital. She said he lured the victim from Abuja to Minna under the guise that he would secure a job for him. The PPRO added that the suspect would be charged to court after investigation. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |

Stray cat is prime suspect in 'attempted murder' of elderly woman | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 13 Nov 2017 12:53 AM PST Police probing the 'attempted murder' of an 82-year-old Japanese woman have reportedly said their prime suspect is a stray cat. Bedridden Mayuko Matsumoto, who is also unable to speak, was found last Monday in her remote mountain home in southern Japan by her daughter. Matsumoto had more than 20 cuts on her face and was later hospitalised. "When we found her, blood covered everything above her chin," her daughter told Japanese broadcaster RKK. Police were left baffled after finding no sign of a break-in at the home. But after noticing that the cuts appeared to be from a claw, they considered the possibility of the scratches coming from a stray cat. National broadcaster NHK reported: "Police are analysing a blood sample taken from the claw of the cat which might have scratched the victim." culled from MPNB Mr Olumide's Blog |
Americans Robbed By Traffic Robbers In Lagos Posted: 13 Nov 2017 12:51 AM PST Three Americans have lost their travel documents, money, phones and valuables to traffic robbers at the Oshodi area of Lagos. The incident occurred on November 6, around 8:20pm, while the visitors were on their way to Victoria Island from the Muritala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA). The victims, names withheld, were said to be working for a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in the United States (U.S) and were in the country to attend a programme. The victims were issued new travel documents and returned to America. According to a security expert, Seyi Adetayo, who shared the ordeal of the Americans on social media, the victims were attacked by four men, who surrounded the vehicle conveying them to Eko Hotel. He said: "They arrived Lagos at about 5pm and were stuck in a traffic gridlock for about three hours in Oshodi. Their vehicle was attacked around 8:20pm around Oshodi axis. The assailants were four in number. They surrounded the vehicle. Immediately, the two at the back smashed the windows and yelled at them "where is the money? One of the passengers lost her laptop, wallet, cash and travel passport. The second colleague lost her IPhone. "The case was reported at Ilupeju Police Station the next day and we were informed that a lot of robbery attacks took place around that place and time. We were also told that two Britons just left the police station, they were attacked and also lost all their valuables, including their passports, bags, phones etc. "We were advised that pending when the Oshodi construction work would be completed, once it is 4pm we should take the international/local airport axis to Maryland and make a turn towards Ojota to connect Alapere to the third mainland. "They confirmed that Maryland towards Anthony to connect with the bridge is also not safe. We are also approaching the festive period and need to be more security conscious." Adetayo said a colleague of his who works with the victims' establishment, was the originator of the post, adding that he only shared it on social media for motorists to be conscious. culled from Olu famous Mr Olumide's Blog |
