Khloe Kardashian reveals the two things the Kardashians regret filming on their show | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 03:53 AM PDT

Khloe Kardashian has revealed the family regret including two  moments of their lives on their E! show Keeping Up With The Kardashians: Kim's robbery and Caitlyn Jenner's transition .

 The star told Glamour. ..

'Things like Kim's robbery or Caitlyn's transition? That's the kind of stuff we wish we had never filmed,''We aren't ever like, "Oooh! Let's do this for season nine." This is our life, and these are the things that happen.''And it's funny - when we decide not to shoot things, people feel slighted. But when we film too much, they're like, "Oh, you never should have filmed that." It's a catch-22.'
Khloe also said in her Glamour interview that the workload is overwhelming.
'We film six days a week, 12 to 18 hours a day, every single day. When you compile that much footage into 13 or 14 44-minute episodes, you can find a lot of drama. Not every episode is juicy to us; it's only juicy to the audience,' she added.
'We never could have fathomed the longevity of the show - that we would film 14 seasons and a handful of spin-offs. I don't think anybody could have.
'When it comes to our drama, we are a large, blended family. If you put a microscope over any family for 10 years, you're bound to find cracks in the foundation. That's just the name of the game, and we're strong enough to endure it.'

Why Nigerians are not feeling impact of exit from recession

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 03:32 AM PDT

Statistician-General of the Federation and Chief Executive, National Bureau of Statistics, Dr. Yemi Kale, on Wednesday explained why Nigerians were not feeling the real impact of the positive economic growth rate on their lives.
Kale attributed the non-impact of the exit from recession on the citizens to the structure of the economy, which is still largely driven by oil.
He said while the economy might have recorded a growth rate of 0.55 per cent in overall Gross Domestic Product for the second quarter, not all the sectors did well in terms of productivity.

For instance, the NBS boss explained that out of the 42 economic activities that were used to measure the GDP growth rate, 21 recorded decline in productivity, while the rest performed better than they did in the first quarter.

He said the 21 of those economic activities that recorded slowdown in performance were those that ordinary Nigerians relate with on daily basis.

For instance, the NBS boss said while the manufacturing sector grew by 0.64 per cent in the second quarter, there were some segments of the sector that did not do well.

He gave some of them as manufacturing, which contracted by -10.88 per cent; motor vehicle and assembly, which contracted by -19.72 per cent; electrical and electronics, which contracted by -1.7 per cent; and chemical and pharmaceutical products, which declined by -0.98 per cent.

In addition, wood and wood products contracted by -2.09 per cent; pulp, paper and paper products, -1.85 per cent; and cement, -4.16 per cent.

Kale explained, "Recession is not about the price of your goods, not whether unemployment is going up or down, not whether you have quality education, it's purely your Gross Domestic Product; your outputs of goods and services in the economy are going down.

"The GDP is an accumulation of 46 different economic activities in Nigeria and the overall number, whether positive or negative, will determine whether you are in recession or out of recession.

"Now, within those 46 activities, some sectors will do very well and will be positive; some will do badly, some will do worse, and some will stay the same way they are.
"Depending on who you are in the society, what we publish is the aggregated total of everybody. So, even in that same report, you will see that 21 sectors were negative and there are other sectors that did well."
He advised that with the economy being out of recession, there was a need for the government to work assiduously to ensure recovery by taking the growth rate to where it was before the decline in performance. After this is done, he said the next stage would be to sustain the growth and take it beyond the rate of recovery.

Man Fights Armed Robber who Stole His Girlfriend’s Phone, Collects His Gun

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 03:32 AM PDT

A suspected armed robber, Michael David, has been arrested by operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos, after he robbed a lady, identified simply as Kate, of her phone.

It was gathered 22-year-old David and two other members of his gang, while armed with a locally-made double-barreled pistol, attacked Kate and her boyfriend, one Desmond, on Close 26, Satellite Town, Ijegun, around 10pm.

They took Kate's mobile phone and threatened to shoot the couple dead if they resisted...

The gang had allegedly mounted a waiting motorcycle and were about speeding off when Desmond summoned courage and attacked them.

He was said to have succeeded in pulling down David, as his girlfriend called for help.

Attempts by the suspect to shoot the victim failed, as the gun reportedly jammed.

David, an Imo State indigene was mobbed by residents, who handed him over to the police.

The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Edgal Imohimi, paraded David among seven other suspected robbers at the Police Officers' Mess, Ikeja, on Wednesday.

Imohimi said Desmond and Kate had closed from work and were heading home on August 13, 2017, when they were attacked by the robbers.

The suspect, who claimed to be a tiler, said he was not the owner of the gun, adding that it belonged to his friend, one Ahmed. He said his gang had only approached the girl to collect her phone, claiming that he was not an armed robber.

He said, "We were coming from a friend's party around the Waterside area on that day when we sighted the girl passing with her boyfriend. We went to meet her to collect her phone and she suddenly raised the alarm. My friends ran away, but I was caught. I was not caught with the gun. Two to three hours after the incident, some OPC members brought the gun and said it belonged to me. I am not an armed robber and we didn't attack the girl; we only collected her phone."

But when the Investigating Police Officer challenged him on his denial of the gun, he owned up.

The policeman explained that the suspect had attempted to shoot Desmond and his girlfriend dead when the gun jammed.

"He made an attempt to shoot at them, but the gun disappointed him. He was the one holding the gun," he said.

Doctors Refuse To Call Off Strike After 13-Hour Meeting

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 03:02 AM PDT

National Association of Resident Doctors on Thursday refused to call off its strike despite holding a 13-hour meeting with representatives of the Federal Government.

The meeting, which held at the Federal Secretariat in Abuja, ended in the early hours of Thursday, had in attendance the Minister of Labour, Chris Ngige; the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole; and the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire.

Why did the doctors refuse to call off the strike?

According to a statement by the Ministry of Labour, the strike would continue until at least Friday when the doctors are expected to meet to review the offer by the government on their demands including payment of salary arrears owed.

"The meeting agreed that NARD national officers will present the outcome of the re-negotiated Memorandum of Terms of settlement to an emergency meeting of its members by Friday September 8, 2017 with a view to suspending the strike once there is evidence of payment of the mandate as presented to the meeting, to the affected institutions," the statement noted.

Why Buhari's Female Minister is giving her support to Atiku

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 03:02 AM PDT

Politics is about to begin. The Minister of Women Affairs, Senator Aisha Alhassan, has declared her readiness to support former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar's bid for the Presidency against President Muhammadu Buhari if the former decides to contest in 2019.

Mama Taraba, as Alhassan is fondly called, in an interview with  BBC Hausa Service on Wednesday, said she respected Buhari, but stated that Atiku remained her godfather.

The minister had in a leaked video  endorsed Atiku for the 2019 presidential election.

According to the leaked video, Alhassan endorsed Atiku when she led a delegation on a private visit to the former vice-president on an undisclosed day during the last Sallah celebration.

The minister, who spoke in Hausa in the video, said, "Your Excellency, our father and our president by the grace of God come 2019, before you are your people, your supporters for life, the people of Taraba State.

"They are here to pay our homage and to greet you on the occasion of Sallah and for all that Allah has done to you because Allah has raised your status."

On Wednesday, Alhassan, in the BBC Hausa Service interview, confirmed that she would support Atiku in 2019.

The minister added that Buhari had not told anybody that he would contest the 2019 election.

She, however, said even if President Buhari decide to contest the election, she would support Atiku for the presidency.

Alhassan stated, "Since I was in the civil service, His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar, has been my mentor and godfather. He has remained so even now that I have joined politics. There is a reason for every political relationship.

"Secondly, Baba Buhari has not told anybody that he is contesting in 2019. I can assure you that today, if Baba Buhari says he is going to contest, walahi tallahi (I swear by Allah), I will go and kneel down before him and say 'Baba, I am grateful for the opportunity you have given me to serve as minister in your administration but Baba, like you know, Atiku is my godfather'.

"If Atiku says he is going to contest, but he too has not said he will contest… Why I said (Atiku) 'our President come 2019' is that we expect that he will contest, but he has not told us he will contest. But if he contests, I will go and do what I just told you I will do."

Alhassan said she was not a hypocrite, adding that Buhari was aware of her relationship with Atiku.

"I am not one to betray trust. If I now say I have no business with Atiku, even Baba Buhari will have doubts about me, he will say 'this one is a betrayer of trust'," the minister stated.

EFCC arrests top Gombe SEMA official for diverting materials meant for IDPs | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 01:58 AM PDT

Operatives of the Gombe Zonal office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have arrested Secretary to Gombe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Danlami Arab Rukuje, for alleged involvement in the diversion of materials meant for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).

His arrest followed a tip-off  received by the Intelligence and Special Operations Section (ISOS) of the office.
The materials, which include cans of paints and bags of cement meant as building materials donated to the state by the Presidential Committee on the North-East Initiatives (PCNI), never made it to the IDP camps. Investigations revealed that they were, instead, diverted to other areas including markets, for sale.

A team of operatives acting on the information immediately swung into action, and located shops where the materials were being sold. The Gombe State Fertilizer Grinding Plant where some of the materials were kept was also raided. A store keeper at the state's Emergency Agency, Isa Garba, was subsequently arrested.

Further investigations, led to the arrest of a staff of the state's Fertilizer Grinding Plant, Mu'azu Suleman KT.

The suspects will be charged to court, as soon as investigations are concluded.

8 Things You Need to Know about the Unforgivable Sin

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 01:47 AM PDT

"One of the questions I'm regularly asked is, 'Pastor, can I commit a sin that God cannot forgive?'

According to Jesus, there is one sin a person can do for which there is no forgiveness or pardon either in this age or in the age to come: blaspheming against the Holy Spirit.

But what does it mean to blaspheme the Holy Spirit?"

Dr. David Jeremiah explains how the only way to understand these words is by seeing them within the context of the whole passage.

Here are 10 things you need to know about the "unforgivable sin".

1. Jesus mentions it in the gospel of Mark.
Jesus addressed the topic in Mark 3:20-30, a passage that ends with these words: "Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation" (Mark 3:28-29).

This is the verse that gets quoted whenever Christians address this issue. But the passage doesn't stop there.

2. To correctly understand it, you need to look at the very last phrase.
Take a look again at Jesus' finishing statement in verses 28-30: "'Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation,' because they said, 'He has an unclean spirit.'"

This paragraph has been the source of great misunderstandings in Christendom. To arrive at the correct interpretation, we have to begin with the last phrase, which explains why Jesus made this statement. He gave this teaching because His foes were accusing Him of having an unclean spirit (verse 22). Our Lord was telling them, in essence, "There is a sin that you are on the verge of committing. You should be very careful, because you're about to do something for which there is no forgiveness."

3. It's not a thoughtless mistake.
Let me take a moment and say the unforgivable sin isn't something that someone commits randomly. The scribes who came from Jerusalem didn't just do this on a whim. If you follow the references to these scribes throughout the book of Mark you'll see there is a progression to their unbelief. They were initially curious about Jesus and His ministry. Then they had questions. In time, they grew indifferent; but then their indifference metastasized into a malicious attitude that became so hateful and vengeful that it ultimately nailed Jesus Christ to the cross.

4. It shows us that progressive rejection can be the most dangerous.
When God convicts us of sin and presents us with the Gospel, it's dangerous to neglect it, especially if our procrastination becomes chronic. We resist and resist and resist. After a while, we can become so hard-hearted and sin-hardened that we grow calloused of soul. Our ears can't receive the truth. Our minds shake off the conviction of the Spirit. We become cynical of conscience. And although the grace of God is still available to us, we push away from it.

5. Knowing the Word of God isn't enough.
These scribes had become Jesus-resistant because of the time-lapsed attitudes of their own evil hearts. It's tragic, for these scribes had devoted their lives to copying the Word of God. Note the relationship between the words scribe and scribble. These men had copied and recopied the Old Testament. Every day they copied an ancient Scripture scroll by hand.

They had copied Isaiah 53, about the Suffering Servant. They had copied Psalm 22, about the death of the Messiah. They knew Micah 5 and the prophecy of our Lord's birth. Yet their hearts had become so hardened they couldn't receive His grace when it arrived in the person of Jesus.

6. The unforgivable sin is denying the deity of Christ.
By ascribing the miracles of Jesus to Satan, the religious leaders were denying the deity of Jesus Christ. They were saying He could not be God. Yet by His miracles He was showing Himself to be nothing and no one less than God. Only God Himself could do what He had done. His followers believed in His deity.

7. Rejecting the Holy Spirit and rejecting the deity of Christ are connected.
It's the Holy Spirit who witnesses to the deity of Christ in our world today.

So when you refuse to accept the ministry of the Holy Spirit or you ascribe His ministry to Satan, you give up the final opportunity to be saved. You must believe in Jesus as the Son of God. We have to accept the witness of the Holy Spirit and act upon the conviction He brings.

8. If you're worried that you may have committed a sin God will not forgive…you've likely not committed this sin.
The thought of an unforgivable sin has haunted sensitive people in every Christian century, and maybe it has haunted you. I want to be clear in saying that if you're bothered in your spirit that you may have committed a sin God will not forgive, the very fact that you have anxiety over that is evidence you've not committed the sin. If He is still working in your heart, it's not possible to have committed the unpardonable sin. The very fact that you're reading this article is a tremendous indication you've not committed the unforgivable sin described in the Gospel of Mark.

In summation, this is the "unpardonable sin":
In its essence, the unforgivable sin is hardening your heart against God and repeatedly refusing to respond to His entreaties to your soul. By continuing to resist and reject the Lord, you build calluses on your soul until the conviction of the Spirit of God no longer registers on your heart. Over a period of time you become hardened. You hear the Word of God and it makes no impact on you. If you die in that condition, there's no further forgiveness available. For those who reject Jesus Christ, there's no forgiveness anywhere else, anytime, either in this world or the next. He died for you, and if you reject that, there's no other sacrifice for sin.

So don't worry that you've committed the unpardonable sin. But if you don't know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, be concerned that you might.

4 Important Steps To Take Before Quitting Your Job To Start A Business

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 01:19 AM PDT

A good number of us get bitten by the entrepreneurial bug when working as employees on a 9 to 5 job, and we get that zeal to start a business venture of our own. While this can be a great and extremely rewarding decision, it can also be tasking one, it is therefore important to keep some vital things in mind before quitting your job to start a business.

Jumia Travel shares 4 vital steps to take before quitting your job to start a business.

Prepare For The Realities of Entrepreneurship
Becoming an entrepreneur has its good and glamorous sides, like becoming your own boss, making your own rules, building things up from the ground etc., but it also has its difficult sides. For one, most entrepreneurial ventures fail and the entrepreneurs end up having to go back to work as employees. Also, most of the successful entrepreneurs of today have had to deal with a lot of setbacks sometimes becoming broke in the process, coming to the brink of failure, or even eventually failing and having to pick up the pieces and get back up multiple times. Entrepreneurship is definitely not for the fainthearted and as rewarding as it can be, it can also be hard and extremely tasking.

Have A Solid Personal Financial Plan
Quitting your job to start a business means that you have to come to terms with the fact that your line of sustainable income is gone, and you will thus have to prepare for the hit your personal finance is going to take through the period of you trying to build up your business into one that you can draw reasonable revenue or income from. You first should consider how much money you need to continue your current lifestyle and compare it with how much money you actually have (savings included). If what you have can't sustain your lifestyle, then it's best you make more prudent adjustments to your current lifestyle. Also, you should have backup options to explore if you do run out of money in the meantime.

Don't Burn Bridges
A good number of people quit their 9-5 jobs to start a business on very bad terms with their employers. They damn their employers and tell them off, exiting the job in an anything but smooth process. This should not be so. You should never burn your bridges in the professional world, especially with former employers, because you might need them in the future as clients, as partners to your business in a mutually beneficial relationship, or to even come back to work for them if your business idea doesn't pan out as well as expected. Whatever the reason, you should never end things with your employer on bitter terms, and when you decide to leave, try as much as possible to make your exit from the company as smooth as possible to preserve important relationships.

Get Advice
As viable and brilliant you think your business idea or business plan is, you should talk to others and get advice before you quit your job to start a business, don't just rush into it. Talk to trusted friends and mentors about what they think of your business idea and how promising they believe it is. Reach out to people that have experience in building entrepreneurial ventures and those that have quit their jobs for it, ask them for practical advice and guidance on how to go about yours. Most importantly, talk to your spouse, children or close family members (especially those that you are financially responsible for), and explain to them the financial implications of what you are about to do, so they can prepare for it the best way they can.

Things You Should Know About Church & Your Pastor

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 01:19 AM PDT

"Christ loved the church and gave Himself for her… For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones" (Ephesians 5:25,30). It's His church.

It's important for pastors to keep reminding themselves there were good reasons why God did not give them ownership of the flocks which they are tending...

"… that He might present her to Himself a glorious church" is how Paul puts it (Ephesians 5:27).

"… that we might show forth the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light" is how Peter put it (I Peter 2:9).

"… as firstfruits to God and to the Lamb" is how John put it (Revelation 14:4).

The congregation belongs to Christ. Not to its pastors.

The pastor must keep reminding himself. "They belong to the Lord. Not to me."

–They were not given you as an audience for your preaching. They are that, but this is not their primary purpose. So, when they come to hear you and then get up and leave, you may be tempted to see this as God's plan. It isn't. They are to be far more than an audience.

–They were not given you as a laboratory for your ideas and experimentations. You will be able to present your ideas and programs to them, and from time to time will develop ministries which God may use far and wide. But you must not make the mistake of thinking God put these people there for you. They are the sheep of His pasture and are there for His purposes.

–They were not given as a team for your wonderful quarterbacking, to display your gifts of leadership. You will be their leader–or at least, one of them–and if you do it well, they will follow you and you will grow in leadership abilities. But they were not sent as your team. They are the people of God, a holy nation. A royal priesthood.

–They were not given as your cheering squad, to support you in your starring role. Scripture commands them to obey their leaders and submit to those having the rule over them in the Lord, but you must not let that go to your head. God has far bigger purposes in mind that your ego-enhancement or your pumping up your resume.'

–They were not given as critics of your sermons. Human nature being what it is, some of them will criticize your sermons. And sometimes you will need what they offer. But they are not sent for this purpose and they should tread softly on this quicksand of sermonic-evaluation.

A great congregation will do marvelous things for their pastors. They may send him to the Holy Land and fund his education and endow his overseas ministries. They may respond to the pastor's leadership so beautifully that the denomination takes notice and suddenly the minister is invited to address large conferences and to write books.

The minister so blessed will be handed a new set of temptations, enticements rarely given to other colleagues in the ministry. He will be tempted to think of the congregation as a means to an end. That "end," of course, is his own glory and recognitions. And that would be a serious mistake.

Let the successful pastor never forget that first and foremost, before all and after all, he is the undershepherd of the Lord's flock and he must be out there ministering to them.

The lest he ministers to them–that is, the fewer and fewer contacts he has with the hurting and the needy, the hungry and the wayward–the more he strays from his calling and veers into the land of egotistical quicksand.

The people are the Lord's and according to Hebrews 13:17, pastor, you will someday stand before the Lord and give account for them.

Let that scare you and challenge you.

They are the sheep of His pasture.

They are the people of God. They are His people and the sheep of His pasture (Psalm 100:3). They are His lambs, His sheep (John 21:15-17). The bride of Christ. His own body (Ephesians 5). A chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation. His own special people. (I Peter 2:9-10).

They are not to be trifled with, not to be neglected, and not to be dismissed or mistreated or abused.

They are to be handled with care.

A shepherd with a true pastor's heart will frequently pray the prayer of Solomon: "Lord, give to Your servant an understanding heart (that I may be able to lead) this great people of Yours" (a slimmed-down version of I Kings 3:9).

The people of God are a mixed multitude who will drive their shepherd to the nuthouse unless he allows them to drive him to his knees on a daily basis.

Pray or quit, pastor. (That's Luke 18:1.)

Many a pastor has learned the lesson given to Moses in the wilderness, something he ended up having to relearn repeatedly: "They belong to the Lord, not to me. They are the Lord's problem, not mine."

He alone is adequate. (See 2 Corinthians 3:5 and rejoice.)

At the end, the pastors will account to the Father for the care they gave to the flock. That's Hebrews 13:17 and it strikes terror into the heart of pastors who take God's word seriously. (Is there any other kind? Alas, yes.)
PRAY: "Lord, bless your church with pastors who are strong and courageous as well as wise and tender at the same time. Give us pastors who will tell the truth but do so in compassion and kindness. Who will speak the truth in love, and love the people of God in truth. Amen."

Fayose's Deputy, Olusola, Emerges PDP Candidate In Ekiti

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 12:52 AM PDT

Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Prof. Kolapo Olusola, has emerged as the consensus candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2018 governorship election.

He emerged from the list of contenders for the governorship ticket as the "most preferred candidate" at a meeting held on Wednesday by party bigwigs in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State capital.

The meeting was attended by serving and former members of the PDP State Working Committee, members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, chieftains of the party at the 16 local governments and 177 wards, as well as Chairmen and members of Boards and Parastatals among others.

Olusola, an indigene of Ikere Ekiti which is the second largest town in Ekiti, was adopted before the commencement of a retreat organised for members to sensitise them ahead of the 2018 election.

The adoption of the deputy governor, who is a professor of Building Technology from the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was the major decision reached at the party's stakeholders meeting.

The communique issued at the end of the meeting read, "After due consultation, without prejudice to the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended), we formally endorse His Excellency, Prof Kolapo Olusola (the current deputy governor), from Ekiti South Senatorial District, as our preferred aspirant/candidate."

What To Do As A Christian To Build Your Faith

Posted: 07 Sep 2017 12:32 AM PDT

The more I have read through the Bible over the years, the more I have come to identify with different key players in the story of Scripture. There were seasons of my life where the stubbornness of Peter felt so similar to my own indignant streak, and others where I felt just like Mary Magdalene pouring everything beautiful I owned out at the feet of Jesus.

Lately, though, it's been Thomas I've identified with most. Thomas is known best for one thing: his doubt. What a way to be remembered, right?

When we pick up the story right after Jesus was raised from the dead in John 20:24, we read that Thomas was not around when Jesus came to visit his disciples. He missed the action, and his friends wouldn't let him live it down.

They had an encounter with Christ himself, and Thomas missed it. Understandably, he starts to doubt. He says to them, "'If I don't see the mark of the nails in his hands, put my finger into the mark of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will never believe.'" (John 20:25)

Thomas wanted proof that the story was true, that Christ really had died and come back to life. He wanted tangible evidence. He wanted assurance and affirmation, and I don't blame him. I would want the same.

Michael Kelley recently wrote "What To Do When You're Stuck in Doubt" on For the Church, and he asks these questions about the response of Thomas: "Were these words of insecurity? The same way we might try and talk ourselves into believing that the thing we missed wasn't actually the best party every or the most exciting football finish in history? Were these words of anger, aimed honestly at himself for his blunder in scheduling? Were these words of sadness, redirected to verbalize a lack of faith, but more honestly expressing a deep sadness for his absence? We don't know."

What we know is that Thomas made a bold claim that he wouldn't believe without physical proof… and we know what the next verses say he did following that claim.

Thomas kept showing up.
We read in verse 26 that Thomas was with the disciples a week later when Jesus came and stood among them. He had seven days of doubting and wanting evidence, and for many of us, that would have also meant seven days of giving up and walking away from it all feeling like we missed our chance. But Thomas didn't walk away, he stayed close, surrounded by the people who had experienced the risen Lord earlier that week.

"This is the best thing that you and I can do when we, like Thomas, are feeling overcome with doubt," Kelley writes. "We keep showing up."

In my seasons of doubt, often the last thing I want to do is show up, but it's also the best thing I could do for myself and my faith.

Kelley concludes his article with this:
"True enough, on those days of doubt we might find ourselves sitting in the midst of God's people, singing songs that we're not sure we fully believe. Listening to words that seem to ring hollow in our hearts. Feeling devoid of the emotion that characterizes so many of those around us. And we might, for a time, feel as though we are the only one – on the outside looking in at a group of people with some common shared experience that, at least in the moment, seems to have faded in our own memory. But we are still there. Something inside us has compelled us to be with the people of Jesus.
We, too, keep showing up.
And as we do, we find that in showing up that memory is rekindled. As we sing together, our souls are lifted and our minds are put at ease. It's not like a magic pill where you simply gather with God's people and everything is okay again, but slowly, over time, we find that this same Jesus who we wondered whether was really dead or alive, reveals Himself to our cold hearts again, and we know that He has been there all along."

While Thomas might best be known for his doubting, he also should be known for his persistence in showing up. He saw the Lord because he kept showing up and making himself available, and it led to him having an encounter with Jesus that solidified his faith.

May we learn from the example of Thomas and believe even when we cannot see -- may faith replace our doubt and may we keep showing up, time and time again.

Woman in labour jumps off hospital building after begging family for a cesarean | Mr Olumide's Blog

A heavily pregnant woman who apparently committed suicide after begging for a caesarean was seen on CCTV doubled over in pain in the final hours before her death.

The 26-year-old woman and her unborn baby died after she fell from the fifth floor of the hospital she was being treated in.
She had reportedly begged for a caesarean after the baby's head, which was too large for a natural delivery, caused her intense pain.

But she reportedly killed herself when her family, who under Chinese law had to give permission, refused her surgery.

This video shows her hobbling around the maternity ward in the final hours before her death.

The woman, who was reportedly 41 weeks pregnant, was unable to stand unaided and was visibly upset and in pain.

Doctors at the No 1 Hospital in the city of Yulin in Shaanxi Province, northern China, examined her and determined that she needed a caesarean as she was not able to give birth naturally because the baby's head was too big.But her family insisted on a natural birth and refused her the right to undergo the procedure.

Under Chinese law, family must give their permission for a woman to have a C-section.

The woman fell to her death from the window after repeatedly trying to leave the medical centre.

Her unborn foetus also died in the incident.

The woman's medical notes read: "The pregnant woman twice walked out of the ward to tell her family that she wanted a caesarean because she could no longer bear the pain, but the family continued to insist on a natural delivery."

Police told local media that the woman's death was being treated as a suicide.

Her death has sparked protests online.

See how much Katie Holmes made for keeping her relationship with Jamie Foxx private | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 06 Sep 2017 09:03 PM PDT

As Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes finally made their relationship public during a romantic beach stroll in Malibu, California.,it has been revealed the ex-wife of Tom Cruise made a hefty sum of money for keeping her relationship under wraps.

Their display came shortly after the fifth anniversary of Katie's divorce from Tom Cruise.

During the bitter battle over the couple's £275million estate, Cruise reportedly enforced a watertight contract that banned Katie, 38, from mentioning their marriage or publicly dating for five years.

A source claimed to Radar Online last year:
"She's allowed to date, but she cannot do so in a public fashion, and she's not supposed to let any boyfriend near their daughter, Suri."
According to the Daily Mirror, agreeing to the clause reportedly netted Katie £3.6million in child support and £3.8million for herself.

That was on top of the £40million prenuptial agreement Katie drew up with the help of her lawyer father, in which she pocketed £2million for every year of their five-year marriage as well as a trust fund for 11-year-old Suri.

The settlement also reportedly contained "iron-clad" rulings that Suri would not be made a member of the controversial Church of Scientology, where Tom holds a high rank.

Katie has sole custody, and Tom has reportedly not seen or spoken to his daughter in more than three years.

A year after her divorce , Katie secretly started dating Oscar winner Jamie, 49, in August 2013 after they performed together at a charity gala in New York. However, she had first been introduced to him at a football game seven years earlier – by Tom,who had become friends with the Ray actor on the set of 2004 film Collateral.
