Pastor Attacked By A Mad Man He Was Trying To Deliver

Posted: 05 Sep 2017 03:46 AM PDT

Even the disciples of our Lord Jesus Christ could not heal a particular child, the dad approached Jesus and he healed the child. Jesus then made the disciples understand that all issues are not attended to with the same pattern - this one you need [serious] fasting and prayer.

According to a source, this incident happened in Lokoja, Kogi State capital. The pastor tried his faith with a random mad man on the street, and while at it the mad man grabbed him.

It took a while before the pastor could free himself from the mad man. Sigh!

I Don’t Have Time For Girlfriends – Anthony Joshua

Posted: 05 Sep 2017 03:46 AM PDT

Nigerian-British boxing champion, Anthony Joshua has revealed that he sacrificed some important personal activities in order to remain on top of his career in boxing. Some of the things he had to put off include issues of love and marriage.

Joshua revealed to the London Evening Standard that his training regime doesn't leave 'much time for girlfriends', while also suggesting that he may not settle down until the next 10 years.

"If people can ride with me for the next 10 to 12 years I would really appreciate it, but if they can't foresee the future I'd rather they jump off the boat because I can't stop for no one right now," he said at the launch of his mobile service Voxi.

"I was speaking to my coach, who worked with [British former world champion] Carl Froch who had a 12-year career. One day it does finish and now he has all the time in the world to think about business, family. Not everyone likes the decisions I make but I've got to make my own decisions. Decisions I make impact others.

"And my time training means there is not much time for girlfriends either."

Since his 2013 pro debut, Joshua has won all of his 19 fights by knock outs. He unified the IBF and WBA belts in April after beating the former champion, Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley Stadium.

Oh Dear! Man dies from flogging while trying to marry a wife in Katsina State

Posted: 05 Sep 2017 03:16 AM PDT

A young man, Yari Inusa, has died while competing with another suitor for a lady's hand in marriage. The incident happened at Durmin Biri village, in Kafur area of Katsina State.
Police sources said the man died following injuries he sustained on the head when he engaged in a Fulani traditional game of Sharo with another man, Ahmed Saidu, to determine who would marry the lady.

Sharo game entails two male suitors flogging each other for a woman's hand in marriage. Whoever wins between them will marry the girl.

Inusa had reportedly flogged Saidu without any incident, but tragedy struck when it was the turn of Saidu to flog Inusa.

Saidu allegedly hit Inusa on the head, instead of hitting his back as the rules of the game dictates.

Inusa was said to have fainted after he was hit on the head; and eventual died.

The Katsina State Police Command spokesman, DSP Gambo Isah, confirmed the incident.

He said, "Inusa's father, Mallam, reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of Saidu."

He said Inusa's corpse had been released to the family and buried according to Islamic rites.

Nigeria Is Out Of Recession? Prices of goods still very high

Posted: 05 Sep 2017 03:16 AM PDT

Despite the increasing cost of goods in markets across the country, the nation's economy is said to have snapped out of recession as Gross Domestic Product has returned to positive growth.

How real are these statistics when people are not making more money but spending more?

The National Bureau of Statistics on Tuesday said the GDP grew by 0.55 per cent (year-on-year) in real terms in the second quarter of 2017.

The GDP shrank by 0.52 per cent (year-on-year) in real terms in the first quarter of 2017, which is the fifth consecutive quarter of contraction since the first quarter of 2016.

"This growth is 2.04 per cent higher than the rate recorded in the corresponding quarter of 2016 ( –1.49 per cent) and higher by 1.46 per cent points from rate recorded in the preceding quarter, (revised to –0.91 per cent from –0.52 per cent). Quarter on quarter, real GDP growth was 3.23 per cent," the NBS said in the Q2 2017 GDP report.

The economy had shrunk by 1.5 per cent in 2016, the first full-year contraction in 25 years.

10 Steps To Achieving Financial Success

Posted: 05 Sep 2017 02:11 AM PDT

Often I am asked, how do you achieve success with your finances? I have found it takes vision, discipline and faith to become successful. I am including 10 steps that, if you follow, will help you achieve the results you desire...

1. Ownership
Come to a understanding that God has created everything in this world and you must look to him as the source for all your needs. Learning to submit to his authority in the area of money allows you to live a life of peace within your heart and mind as he lovingly will provide everything you need.

2. Stewardship
Accept your role as a manager or steward since it is your responsibility to submit to The Owner as you will be held accountable for your efforts. With time you will learn he wants you to become a conduit so he can utilize all of his resources through your faithfulness.

3. Tithe/Save/Spend
The simple principle of tithing 10% first, saving 10% second and living within the remaining 80% should be the starting line. As you begin to accept and implement the concept, I encourage you to increase the tithe and savings as your faith, knowledge and self-control increases.

4. Earning Capacity
Everyone has the ability to earn money so let's imagine that you are a money machine that you will deposit money into on a weekly basis. During the remainder of your life you will earn money for the services you provide.

The average adult will earn over one million dollars in their lifetime so you must understand that the management of your money is as important as your earning capacity.

5. Interest
Learn the principle of simple and compound interest. Invest the money you save so it can begin producing a harvest for you. The more your money makes the less you have to deposit into your money machine.

6. Debt
Minimize or eliminate your debt as you are depositing into someone else's money machine. Remember when you have debt you are controlled by the bank or mortgage company and it is their rules that will be applied in uncontrollable situations.

7. Financial Plan
It is imperative to have a written plan with goals, objectives and a budget. The average investor does not and they will not attain what they have not defined. Review the plan at least annually so you can adjust it as your goals and situation will dictate the need.

8. Understanding Risk
Every investment has risk and you must define all your choices into one of three categories minimum, moderate, or aggressive. Utilizing an investor profile will allow you to establish a baseline risk tolerance in which to compare your investment options.

9. Cost
Every investment choice has fees and cost to manage the investment. Management, trading, acquisition, brokerage and governmental fees are the major ones to decipher. It is your responsibility to completely understand and have disclosed to you all fees as they will erode the return on the investment.

10. Diversification
Another way to avoid risk is have your investments diversified. Remember Grandpa always said, 'don't have all your eggs in one basket' and that is what diversity means. If you have money in the stock market I would suggest utilizing a index strategy that buys one of every type of investment in its market place and provides you the diversity with low cost and better profit.

Final Word: The Bible gives us numerous scriptures on money, as God knew the struggles we would have with our finances. The one that gives me comfort shares his promise,"I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity" (Proverbs 8:17-18).

May God bless you in your journey.

See Answers To The "Deep Questions" About Heaven

Posted: 05 Sep 2017 01:16 AM PDT

As a child, I had a vague idea of heaven being clouds through which God sometimes poked his head to see whether people were being good or bad. Paintings, comic strips, and movies added winged angels and a white gate with someone stern looking down to see if the dead were good enough to enter. And I read Huckleberry Finn's portrayal of heaven as boring and filled with prudes who do nothing but play harps for eternity.

What a delight it was when I first started reading the Bible's descriptions of heaven. They were robust, alive, and action-filled. Heaven had gemstones, strange creatures, fruit trees, and a river. There were giant warrior angels who shone like stars. Heaven seemed glorious...
Here, then, are 10 of my favorite Scriptures about heaven that can give us a glimpse of the glories to come.

1. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
I wasn't raised in the church and knew next to nothing about Jesus. At 15, I got hold of a New Testament and started reading, figuring that an all-powerful God would want to let people know how to find him in a way that untrustworthy people couldn't misrepresent. After reading through John 8, I was convinced that the only way to God was through Jesus.

But I mistakenly thought believing in Jesus cleansed you for your past sins so you could live a good Christian life. I hadn't really understood the most famous verse in the Bible. God loved people like me so much that he gave his only begotten Son to pay the penalty for people's sins — past, present, and future. When we believe in Jesus — that is, believe he is God's Son as he testified, that he's rightfully Lord, and that he died to pay for sins — God adopts us into his family and gives us eternal life.

2. "Waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells." (2 Peter 3:13)
Eternal life in a place like this earth, frankly, doesn't attract me. Wars, hatred, tyranny, backbiting, and lies weigh me down. God had good reason for shortening human lives after the flood: It limits the amount of sin any one person has to endure and it limits the harm any one person can inflict.

But the eternal life God promises isn't on this earth, for the heavens and earth we live in now will pass away and God will create new ones. God will actually dwell with all those whom he gave eternal life. No one who does not want God to rule over them will be there. No one can bring war or hatred or sin to the new heavens and earth. Because under King Jesus' rule, righteousness dwells.

3. "Angels... will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin." (Matthew 13:41)
Years ago, I worried over what would happen if I sinned in heaven. The problem was that I didn't understand the fullness of this verse. Jesus promises that before heaven's occupants enter, the angels will do away with all causes of sin. That includes the devil and his minions, who now tempt humans to sin (1 Peter 5:8).

Additionally, our resurrected bodies won't have the sin nature that we inherited from Adam and Eve. Our current flesh-and-blood bodies made from this earth have desires and cravings that belong to this world, and they'll all pass away (1 John 2:16-17). Those who have trusted Jesus as Lord and Savior will receive glorified bodies that don't have fleshly cravings. These bodies will have never sinned and will never have been sinned against. We'll live in God's presence, always aware of his love and always knowing truth.

4. "From the depths of the earth you will bring me up again. You will increase my greatness and comfort me again." (Psalm 71:20-21)
Just after my husband finished his doctorate, he was misdiagnosed as having a deadly form of bone cancer. Having all our plans suddenly dissolve left me feeling purposeless.

The psalmist who penned Psalm 71 seemed to have felt something similar, for he prayed, "Do not cast me off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength is spent" (verse 9). But as he writes the psalm, his hope builds. He realizes he still has purpose, for he can tell the next generation of God's power and righteousness. Though for now his failing physical abilities have caused others to deride him, he realizes that when he dies, God will resurrect him from the earth's depths. Not only that, God will increase his greatness to greater than that which he had at his peak strength (more on this to come).

5. "For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison." (2 Corinthians 4:17)
The verse just before the one above says, "Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day." This makes me laugh. Nine months ago, I badly injured my back lifting something the wrong way. The cause? Age-related deterioration! So yes, I have proof that the outer self is indeed wasting away. I'm still waiting for two herniated discs to heal and that is certainly renewing my inner self since I've had to grow in patience, humility, and requesting help.

But verse 17 gives me joy. However long it takes my back to heal is light and momentary compared to eternity in heaven. In fact, every affliction I've ever had or will have all combined will seem light and momentary compared to eternity. Enduring afflictions with trust and hope in God prepares us for something special: an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison!

6. "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore." (Revelation 21:4)
Like most people, I've grieved over loved ones who have died. I've shed tears over wrongs I've suffered and wrongs I've committed. I've had a painful joint condition since childhood. I've watched loved ones suffer through cancer. That's why I love this verse about heaven. It reminds me what it will be like living eternally with the mighty King Jesus who loved us so much, he died for us: There will be no more mourning, crying, or pain.

I particularly love that God himself will wipe any tears from our eyes. We cannot see or touch God now, but then he will be there with us, showing the tender love he's always had.

7. "But our citizenship is in heaven, and... the Lord Jesus Christ... will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body." (Philippians 3:20-21)
As if a pain-free eternity with God isn't enough, our resurrection bodies will be just like Jesus' resurrection body. He could eat fish and hug; he could enter locked rooms (Luke 24:36-43). His body was healed of all ailments except the scars that brought him glory. He could ascend to heaven from earth (Acts 1:9).

First Corinthians 15:35-54 tells us more. Jesus will raise our bodies in glory and power, making them an imperishable, spiritual body.

In Revelation 1:16, Jesus' face "was like the sun shining in full strength." Though much of the description is symbolic, the shining may not be. The Prophet Daniel described a warrior angel whose face shone like lightning (Daniel 10:6). The angel told Daniel that "those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever" (Daniel 12:2-3).

8. "You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory... And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you." (Psalm 73:24-25)
I love this psalm. In it, a priest named Asaph asks God why he allows ungodly, arrogant bullies to have great health and wealth while he suffers. Envious, he declares living for God is useless. But he goes to the temple and realizes it's what happens in the end that counts. God will bring about justice and the wicked will perish. Asaph sees that envy and bitterness had blinded him to truth.

He realizes that despite his "brutish" attitude, God held him up and guided him until he saw circumstances from an eternal viewpoint. The wicked he envied will perish. But God guides him now, and later will receive him into glory. Asaph realizes that living for God is not useless after all, because being near God forever is worth more than any earthly treasure.

9. "Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven." (Matthew 6:20)
God actually intends to reward us in heaven. In the Sermon on the Mount, he tells us he will reward us for praying in secret, for suffering unjust persecution, for staying faithful through loss, for giving to the poor, for ministering to others, and more.

On the Day of the Lord, fire will test all our service to God and others to see if they are valuable like gold, silver, and precious stones, or worthless like hay and stubble (1 Corinthians 3:10-14). And then we will receive our reward from God. This includes having those deeds follow us (Revelation 14:13) as well as commendation and position: "Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much" (Matthew 25:21).

Jesus said, "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done" (Revelation 22:12, NIV).

10. "They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever." (Revelation 22:5)
God made Adam and Eve to reign over this earth (Genesis 1:26-28). But they disobeyed God, and Satan ruled instead. But Jesus defeated Satan at the cross and in the end will cast him and his followers into a lake of fire (Revelation 20:10). Then God will dissolve this heaven and earth and create a new heaven and earth (Revelation 21:1).

And in that new heaven and earth, those whose names are in the Book of Life will reign forever and ever. Their occupation won't be sitting on a cloud strumming a harp. No, their occupation will be to reign with Christ. God's purpose for mankind will finally be realized.

The move aims to resolve the lingering dispute between the Federal Government, BFIG and United Company RUSAL through the mediation of the Secretariat with the active collaboration of the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel Development.

How To Pray When You Don't Know What To Do

Posted: 04 Sep 2017 11:41 PM PDT

If you read my post on seeking God's will in making decisions, you may remember that one of the steps to making a decision is to seek God in prayer.

Perhaps you are in the midst of a difficult decision right now. If so, this prayer is for you.

Father in Heaven...
I come before you today with my mind swirling with different thoughts and feelings. I have a hard decision make and I just don't know what to do. I feel helpless and confused. I'm worried about the consequences to my decision. I worry about the impact my decision will have not only on myself but on others as well. To be honest, I fear making the wrong decision.

Your word tells me that if I seek after wisdom you will provide it. So I am seeking you, the source and fountain of wisdom. You've written everything you want me to know if the pages of your book, The Bible. I pray that as I read your word, it would shape my wants and desires and longings. I pray that it would impress on me what matters most to you. I pray that as I consider the decision before me, that I would remember what your word teaches about your sovereignty and control over all things.

You know this problem before me. You know how it turns out. That's because you are the Alpha and the Omega. You know the end from the beginning. Nothing happens apart from your will and plan. Not only are you sovereign, but you are good. All your plans are holy, righteous, and good. I can trust that you know what is best for me. When I move forward with this decision, I know that it is your will and that you will use it for my good and your glory.

Forgive me for getting caught up in wanting to know the future and how everything turns out. Forgive me for treating you like a "magic 8 ball." Forgive me for fearing the future and for waiting around in the hopes that the answer will be written on the wall. Help me to rest and trust in who you are. Help me to look to Jesus, knowing that if you gave of your own Son to save me from sin, how will you not also be with me in all the challenges and decisions of my life? There is nothing and no one that can separate me from you; I have nothing to fear.

You are my Rock, my Savior, and my Deliverer. Be with me as I move forward in this time of confusion and difficulty. Above all, may your will be done on earth, and in my life, as it is in heaven.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Eid-el-Kabir clash: Kano Police launch manhunt for masterminds

Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje

By Ese Awhotu with agency report

The Kano State Police Command said it has commenced investigation into the Saturday clash between supporters of immediate past governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso and the governor, Abdullahi Ganduje.
The command's Public Relations Officer, Magaji Majiya, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Kano on Monday.
He said the police had not made any arrest but had started an investigation into the matter with a view to finding out the cause of the incident.
NAN reports that Majiya assured residents that the command had taken measures to prevent similar incident or any further break down of law and order.
Peoples Daily had reported yesterday that the glamorous traditional Hawan Daushe that usually holds a day after Sallah in the ancient city of Kano was marred with violence.
Armed thugs who invaded the event attacked their perceived opponents.
The Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje. and Kwankwasiyya political movement in kano, have since shifted blames as to who was behind what has been considered an unpalatable clash by analysts and the civil society.
A former Commissioner of Water Resources in the state, Alhaji Yunusa Adamu Dangwani had accused the state government and the security agents of masterminding the attack on their supporters.
He alleged that the attack was meant to eliminate kwankwasiyya leaders in kano state as part of Governor Ganduje's plan to stop kwankwasiyya activities by all means.
He said that the unfortunate attack left many number of casualties including their targeted kwankwasiyya leaders such as former SSG Rabiu Bichi, Fmr Commissioners Dr. Yunusa Dangwani, Yusuf Bello Danbatta and other leader including Alhaji Yahaya Musa Kwankwaso, Comr Baba Umar, Zainab Audu Bako, and other people."
However, the kano state government, cautioned persons trying to foment trouble in the state to desist, otherwise the state government would take every lawful means to deal with them.
The Kano government urged the police to investigate recent clash with the aim of bringing to book the perpetrators.
This was contained in a statement signed by the state Commissioner of Information, Youth and Sports, Malam Muhammad Garba, distributed to newsmen in the state.
But concerned Nigerians have cautioned against future reoccurrence of such political clashes.
Notable among them is the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi, who has called on political leaders to caution their followers against violence.
Sanusi made the call on Sunday during the traditional 'Hawan Nasarawa' at the Government House in Kano.
"I am calling on political leaders to caution their followers against political violence and thuggery," he said.
The emir urged government to create employment for youth in the country in order to reduce the economic hardship being faced in the country.
"If the youth are employed or empowered, the level of hardship faced by many families will reduce," he said.
He also called on the federal government to revive agriculture in order to attain self-sufficiency in food production.
Sanusi prayed for peace, tranquility and unity in the country and the safe return of Nigerian pilgrims from the Holy land.

N2.8bn liabilities threaten NEMA operations-DG

Posted: 04 Sep 2017 11:20 PM PDT

By Ese Awhotu

The new management of the National Emergency Management Agency, (NEMA) , has said that it inherited about N2.8billion including N665million unverified staff claims.
The Director-General of NEMA, Engr. Mustapha Maihaja disclosed this to newsmen in Abuja.
According to the fact-sheet, the breakdown of the liabilities profile of NEMA which the new DG inherited is as follows: N82,019,313.90(2015); N1,212,063,635.77(2016); and N1,507,087,420.82(Jan-March 2017).
The inherited staff liabilities are N9,553,400(2015); N273,592,861.12(2016) and N382,096,780.02).
The document showed that the unverified N665million became subject of dispute when it was discovered that a Level 08 officer applied for N14million as outstanding claims.
Another senior staff asked for the refund of N58million he spent on behalf of NEMA.
The unverified claims is said to be causing rift between the management and the workers especially the Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria( ASCSN).
Investigation revealed that, while the workers were demanding wholesale payment of the N665million, the management is insisting on the verification of the claims.
The ACSN is also opposed to the transfer of the Secretary of the Women Commission Member of the Trade Union Congress ( TUC), Comrade Shaibu Afusatu who was redeployed to Lagos.
It demanded the reposting of the female staff to NEMA headquarters.
It was learnt that the workers' demand for the payment of the unverified claims is behind the threats by NEMA workers to go on strike.
However, the new NEMA DG said he has no anti-labour agenda.
He said since he came on board, NEMA workers had been receiving their salaries and claims on time.
He also said he had redeployed the President of ASCSN in NEMA back to the headquarters in Abuja.
A reliable source in NEMA said: "While the workers were mounting pressure for payment of claims, NEMA management is insisting on verification of all outstanding claims.
"The next we received was threat to go on strike action."
The source said the redeployment of a staff, Comrade Shaibu Afusatu out of Abuja was also an issue raised by the Trade Union Congress( FCT Council) against NEMA.
The leadership of the Trade Union Congress( FCT Council) asked NEMA management to "reverse the posting in line with extant labour laws , international conventions and a subsisting agreement."
But NEMA in its response said: "The redeployment of the affected staff was a routine exercise carried out within the statutory responsibility of the management stipulated in their letters of appointment.
"The action of redeployment of staff does not in any way amount to violation of relevant section of ILO Convention 87. The agency , however, supports and encourages and allows free and legitimate association among its staff and will continue to do so."
Speaking with newsmen, the Director-General of NEMA, Engr. Mustapha Maihaja said: "I inherited the liabilities and for all intents and purposes, a Chief Executive ought to verify all claims that are not paid before he resumes. I am doing exactly that.
"I have not owed workers their salaries since I came on board. Also, I have been paying all the claims of workers of NEMA as and when due since I resumed in April 2017.
"I am not anti-labour but I am insisting on due process to verify the outstanding claims which I inherited," he said.

Lagos flags off reconstruction of Oshodi-International Airport road

Posted: 04 Sep 2017 11:20 PM PDT

Gov. Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos StateBy Suleiman Idris, Lagos

The Lagos State Government on Monday flagged off the reconstruction of a 10-lane Oshodi-International Airport Road, with a pledge to complete the project within the next 15 months.
The state Commissioner for Waterfront Infrastructure Development, Adebowale Akinsanya, said at the ceremony that the project was in line with the state government's commitment to transform the entire axis.
Mr. Akinsanya said that the state government took it upon itself to undertake the reconstruction of the road, being one of the busiest roads in the state with vehicular volumes average of 50,000 vehicles daily.
According to him, the poor state of the road is not acceptable for the status of the state as the fifth largest economy in Africa and the nation's commercial hub.
Mr. Akinsanya said some of the fences along the corridor had been identified to be within the right of way, adding that government would minimise the impact of the project on property owners.

6 Ways To Deal With Your Insecurities & Fears

Posted: 04 Sep 2017 11:11 PM PDT

Insecurities have a way of interfering with our lives in very inconvenient and sometimes frustrating ways. This is why the need to deal with them can't be overemphasized.

Jumia Travel shares 6 ways to successfully deal with insecurities.

Vocalize Your Self-Critical Thoughts
The primary fuel for insecurities is the critical inner voice people have formed concerning certain area(s) of their lives out of painful or difficult life experiences. You need to learn to vocalize these self-critical thoughts or write them down in the second person, so rather than saying "I'm fat. I'm ugly", you would instead say, "You're fat. You're ugly". This process will help you separate these vicious attacks by seeing them as an external enemy or force, rather than your real point of view.

Expose the Critical Self Thoughts
What insights and reactions do you have when you separate yourself from those critical self thoughts? Do they remind you of anyone or any specific thing from your past? Asking yourself these questions will eventually help you discover the relationship between these insecurities and early life experiences. After this, it will be easier to understand why they are there and will be much easier to address them, reject them and move on from them.

Make Connections
After exposing the critical self thoughts, you should settle down and make connections between the voice attacks and your present day behaviors. You need to ask yourself, "How are these voice attacks or critical thoughts influencing my behaviors?", "What are these attacks or insecurities making me do, or what are they holding me back from doing?", "What events trigger these voice attacks?", "In what areas are my insecurities most influential?".

Stand Up to Your Insecurities
People often struggle with this process, but it requires determination and a strong will to be free of these insecurities. You have to decide that enough is enough. Once you've exposed the critical self thoughts, it's time to confront them and respond to these critical voice attacks. You respond to these voice attacks strictly and confront them with statements about who you want to be, not what the voice says you are. You can also respond to the attacks the way you would a friend – with compassion and kindness.

Your Feelings Don't Dictate Your Reaction
Standing up to your insecurities means that you understand that the fact that you might still feel insecure doesn't matter. Insecurities aren't feelings; they are mindsets you have to deal with. Stop being emotional about it and concentrate on getting rid of that mindset. Keep saying 'no' to the mindset, keep rejecting the insecure mindset until it's gone.

Avoid Your Triggers or Learn to Live With Them
Once you've identified your triggers of insecurity, it will be easier to avoid them if you can. However, if you can't avoid them, the next thing is to learn to live with them. This is also easy but requires a bit more effort. We are not born with insecurities, insecurities are learned behaviours; it's only that they are learned unconsciously. Learning to live with your insecurities means taking active steps to learn new behaviours around your triggers to override the ones that fuel your insecurities. Over time (30 days according to scientific research), the triggers will lose their effect on you. But you have to be determined and not give up throughout the process.
