They said she was one of many young women who the 50-year-old singer had targeted in recent years and that they hadn't spoken to her for months. Dismissing their claims that she had been 'brainwashed' by Kelly - who has been plagued by accusations of child sex abuse in the past - Savage told TMZ that she was 'in a happy place'. 'I'm 21, I'm about to be 22 in a few days and I just mainly want to say that I am in a happy place with my life and I'm not being brainwashed or anything like that.Asked if she was being held involuntarily, she said: 'Oh no, nothing like that. I've never felt like a hostage or anything like that.'Addressing her parents' concern, she said: 'I don't really know what's going on with that,' she said of their fears on Monday. He then struggled with his wife before flipping her over a barrier in Daying County in central-west China. But despite the shocking act,violence, the woman told police she had forgiven her spouse and refused to press charges after he was detained and she was taken to a hospital for check-up. Fortunately the woman from did not suffer any serious injuries as she fell about three feet to a vegetable patch below. | A Prayer For Your Son To Meet A Godly Wife Posted: 18 Jul 2017 02:01 AM PDT  My son is a people-person, no doubt about it. But building relationships can be hard at any age. It was strange to think that one day he would meet someone and make the most crucial choice of all. He would ask her to be his bride. He was only five at the time. He wouldn't be thinking about marriage for many years! But I knew God "ordered his steps." (Psalm 37:23) I also knew the importance of praying for him to meet a godly wife one day. I remember that day, a short 12 years ago. I can still see him standing on the playground–compassionate, forgiving. Now here we are, about to watch our 17-year-old waltz into adulthood. And with that come the challenges of girlfriends and dating. So recently I've asked myself this question. What do I consider the qualities of a godly wife? I don't want to be the kind of person who puts unrealistic expectations on her son or future daughter-in-law. None of us are perfect, after all. But God's Word gives us clear guidelines on the traits that will help both my son and his wife to have a happy, blessed marriage. "Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace" (Ephesians 4:2-3 NLT). In his letter to Ephesus, Paul encouraged the church to walk in a manner worthy of their calling. Paul also referred to the church as the bride of Christ in 2 Corinthians 11:2: "… I promised you as a pure bride to one husband – Christ." Just as we should display humility, gentleness, and patience with one another as Christ's bride, these same qualities can create a foundation for a healthy marriage. We can look to these verses as a guide in praying for our sons. Will you join me? We want the best for them and their future spouses. Let's allow the Holy Spirit-inspired words in Ephesians to guide us as we pray for our sons to meet a godly wife. Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for my son. Thank you for the good plans you have for him and his future. You "knitted him together" and created him for a special purpose. I know you have also created someone who he will one day choose to marry. I pray that as He keeps his eyes focused on You, he will be drawn to her godly qualities. Your Word tells us in Ephesians 4:2, "Always be humble and gentle." I pray my son will meet a woman who shows true humility and treats others with a gentle kindness that is "evident to all." (Philippians 4:5) I pray she will be someone who supports him and encourages him to seek more of You. As they get to know each other, help them both to be patient. And because of their love, help them to "make allowance for each other's faults" while inspiring each other to become more like Christ. (Ephesians 4:2) Guide and direct them Lord, while they wait on Your perfect timing for marriage. Above all, I pray they will "make every effort to keep themselves united in the Spirit, binding themselves together with peace." | Man Defrauds Businessman N500k Just to Have Big Wedding Posted: 18 Jul 2017 01:36 AM PDT  A 40-year old staff of 7up company in Lagos, Johnson Oke and a female police officer attached to Ketu Division, Muraina Kafayat have landed in troube after defrauding a business man. Oke claimed that he was under pressure from Muraina who already had two kids for him and was desperate for marriage and he had to look for ways to raise money to marry her. Oke, according to PM Express, allegedly defrauded a business man, Casmir Ezeire to the tune of about N500,000 under the false pretence of supplying him scraps from the company as manager. Ogun State-born Oke reportedly used Muraina's Bank account to perpetrate the alleged fraud and did not supply any scraps to Ezeire as he promised. Rather he was said to have used the money for traditional marriage and Wedding to consolidate his relationship with Muraina. The wedding took place in May 2017. However, the wedding has landed the couple into trouble as they were unable to pay the debts incurred after the wedding, even before Ezeire matter came up. The matter was reported to the police and Oke was arrested and detained at Alausa Police division where he allegedly confessed that he obtained part of the Money through Muraina's account. However, the wife said that she had no idea that the money paid into her account was the proceed of fraud as her husband told her that it was a business transaction. On the issue of marriage, she said she made adequate arrangement and borrowed money for the marriage and her husband only brought small amount of money for the marriage. Johnson was taken before Ogba Magistrates court and charged with obtaining Money under false pretence and stealing under the Criminal Code. He pleaded not guilty. The presiding Magistrate, O.I Raji granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition. His own mother was said to have separated from the father. Favour, who is said to be 11 years old, was reported to have been stabbed by the father in the neck, pretended to be dead before his father abandoned him in the bush. Favour, who later crawled out of the bush, was said to have been rescued by a good Samaritan, who took him to the Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta. A source, who pleaded anonymity, said Favour's father always maltreated him. The father, the source said, had allegedly claimed that the son embarrassed him "too often by reporting him to the Baale each time he is assaulted by father." | How to Embrace the Ordinary Like it's Extraordinary Posted: 18 Jul 2017 12:36 AM PDT  But maybe you should be. A few months ago, that same morning routine went something like this: I rolled over to face the wheelchair parked next to my bed, my broken ankle waking with me, the throb timing itself to match the staccato pulse blaring from the alarm. I killed the sound and fumbled in the nightstand for another dose of pain medication that had worn off during the night. Which meant I actually slept a few hours straight. Pill swallowed, I started the forty-five minute countdown before it even began to touch the pain. Shivering, I curled tight against the bottom sheet two pillows propped under my bad leg and tugged my sweatshirt sleeves down over my hands. The surgical site on my ankle, home to eight screws and a plate, couldn't tolerate any weight. Not even a summer sheet. While my foot and leg burned all night, the rest of me froze. When the throb in my ankle calmed to a much nicer ache, I scooted close to the wheelchair, and pep-talked myself through the physical process of getting up. After a brief struggle to sit, I slid off the mattress onto the chair, the ache in my ankle spiking, angry to lose its elevation. Foot straight out and raised as high as I could hold it, I wheeled into the bathroom. Only to remember I'd forgotten to lay out my clothes the night before. If they weren't on the counter next to the tub, where I had to sit to dress, I'd end up wheeling back into my room completely au natural. And au natural in a wheelchair? So not attractive. Clothes retrieved, I wheeled back in, and fought to close the double doors behind me. The shower door was easier. The trick came in reaching far enough in from a sitting position to turn on the water all the way. After a little effort, the handle moved around to warm. And that's when I realized my husband left for work without putting the shower chair back in the stall after he'd finished up. There was no standing under the hot spray for me. There was no standing at all. Not from January to June on an ankle that broke, healed wrong, and had to be rebroken. During those six months, I lost most of my independence. There's a lot you can't do when you're down an ankle. Walk. Cook. Clean. Laundry. Stairs. Drive. Shop. Or reach anything taller than four feet. Daily things I'd taken for granted. Now you can see why this morning's quarter-hour shower was so remarkable. It had always been remarkable. I just never noticed until I couldn't do it anymore. After the doctor cleared me to put weight on my ankle, I started physical therapy. One of the ladies I met complained about the exercises, having to go three times a week, and how painful rehab could be. One day she looked at me and asked, "What's your deal?" I grinned. "I'm just happy to be able to walk." And I was. Getting out of bed and landing on both my feet was enough for me. I'd never been more aware of the phrase—You don't know what you've got until it's gone. And we don't know what we have until it's taken away. But what if we could use our loss to see life in a fresh way? What if I took the experience with my ankle and applied it to the other things in my life I tend to blow off as a guarantee? What if we were grateful now for the things we are able to do every day? What if we took time to see the ordinary as extraordinary? How would that kind of thinking change our days? Our world? What remarkable abilities do you not realize you have today? Make a list of the everyday, average things you do and thank God for each of them. | 214,952 students cheated in WASSCE | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 17 Jul 2017 02:42 PM PDT  Mr. Olu Adenipekun, Head of National Office of the West African Examination Council, WAEC, announced this in Lagos as he also announced the cheering news of a seven percent improvement in the number of candidates that passed the examination with five credits. Last year, 52.9 percent of the candidates recorded the feat. The number jumped to 59.22 percent this year, out of the 1,559,662 candidates that sat for the examination. Adenipekun said WAEC is still investigating the exam cheats and that the schools of the students would be duly informed soon. "The cases are being investigated and reports of the investigations will be presented to the appropriate committee of the council in due course for consideration. "The committee's decisions will be communicated to the affected candidates through their schools,'' he said. He said that 923,486 of the 1,559,162 candidates that sat for the examination, obtained a minimum of credits in five subjects and above, including English Language and Mathematics. Kelly allegedly keeps at least six women in a sex-obsessed cult | Mr Olumide's Blog Posted: 17 Jul 2017 09:58 AM PDT  The allegations made against the 50-year-old, are part of a bombshell report by Buzzfeed News, which cites interviews with former members of the performer's inner circle and parents of girls as young as 19 who are with Kelly. The website spoke to Cheryl Mack, Kitti Jones, and Asante McGee - all former members of Kelly's entourage - about the sort of treatment endured by young women who find themselves pulled into the singer's orbit. Mack, Jones, and McGee said there are at least six women living in properties rented by the R&B star in Chicago and Atlanta. The 'guest houses' where the women are kept are near his home in suburban Atlanta, and his apartment at Trump Tower in Chicago. They, according to Buzzfeed, then described the 50-year-old as an utterly controlling figure who dictates every aspect of the women's daily lives: telling them what and when to eat, how to dress, how to cut their hair, when they sleep, when they bathe, and how to engage in 'sexual encounters that he records' and then shows to male friends. 'No. You have to ask for food. You have to ask to go use the bathroom… [Kelly] is a master at mind control... He is a puppet master,' Mack, who worked as the singer's assistant, told the website. The women, who said the 'babies' - as the girls are referred to - are required to call Kelly 'Daddy', then ran through a list of people they believe were living either at one of the performer's properties in Atlanta or his Chicago recording studio last summer. The first woman mentioned in the article was a 31-year-old 'den mother', who is reportedly responsible for 'training newcomers on how Kelly liked to be pleasured sexually'. Buzzfeed reports the 'den mother' 'had been best friends since high school' with the person in a videotape that led to Kelly standing trial on child pornography charges in 2008. The other women his ex-entourage believe were in his properties last summer included: a 25-year-old woman who has known Kelly for seven years, a 26-year-old Atlanta songwriter who began her relationship with him when she was 19, a 19-year-old model, and 'his number one girl' - an 18-year-old aspiring pop star from Florida. Mack told Buzzfeed many of the young women are sucked in by the singer because they think: 'This is R. Kelly, I'm going to live a lavish lifestyle'. However, the trio - all of whom lived under one of Kelly's roofs at a point in the past five years - said the reality is very different to the fantasy of a fairy-tale life in the lap of luxury. In addition to the aforementioned control Kelly has, he allegedly demands the women ask his permission before leaving a room, are forced to wear jogging suits in public in order to keep their figures hidden, have their phones taken and are given new ones that are only allowed to be used to contact him or others approved by him, and have to deal with a 'burly' SUV driver parked outside his properties to ensure they do not leave. Both Mack and Jones then told Buzzfeed that if any of the women break the 'rules', Kelly 'punishes them physically and verbally'. Jones recounted a time when she was pushed up against a tree outside a Subway store and slapped by Kelly, who was allegedly furious she had 'been too friendly' with the male cashier. 'I got trapped,' Jones told the website, thinking back to her time with Kelly. 'I had people telling me I was an idiot. But it took me a long time to realize they were right, and I'm talking now because I hope I can help some of these other girls.' McGee added: 'R. Kelly is the sweetest person you will ever want to meet. But Robert is the devil.' Buzzfeed also spoke to the parents of a 21-year-old woman who is currently one of Kelly's 'babies'. The mother, who was only identified as 'J', said her daughter first met Kelly as a 19-year-old at an Atlanta concert in May 2015. A few weeks later, then were all flown out to California to meet the performer backstage. 'It's about my daughter, and I understand that. But the abuse that my daughter is actually enduring, nobody should go through.' Two more parents also spoke to the website about how they are trying to get their daughter back, after she moved in with the star following a meeting when she was 17 in April 2015. The parents, Theresa and Angelo, detailed how Kelly kept in touch with their daughter predominantly through secret calls and texting after he 'picked her out of the crowd' during a performance at Funk Fest in Orlando. One day shortly after, the parents were concerned because their daughter had not come home from school and they did not know where she was. The young woman texted her frantic parents to tell them she had met up with Kelly at his hotel. Despite their best efforts, a few months later - according to Buzzfeed - she was living with Kelly. Angelo said his daughter has now cut off communication for the most part as well. McGee, a member of Kelly's ex-entourage, said she knew of the wannabe singer, and said she was 'head over heels' for the R&B star. Kelly was also, according to McGee, 'obsessed' with the young woman. But despite the alleged affection, McGee said she also witnessed the young girl being punished for breaking the rules, according to the website.
