Drug Suspect Jumps Into Ocean With Shark Just To Escape Police Arrest (Photos)

Posted: 02 Sep 2017 04:11 AM PDT

The dangers of living on the fast lane. From jail to Jaws: Drug suspect, 20, attempts to elude police by diving into the ocean and swimming away – oblivious to a SHARK following him.

The North Carolina man unknowingly jumped into shark infested waters in a bid to escape.

Surf City police officials say 20-year-old Zachary Kingsbury was pulled over just before 5pm on Wednesday, according to WECT.

Upon conducting a search in the vehicle, police officers discovered suspicious contraband on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Kingsbury, who was in the driver's seat, was then asked to step out of his vehicle, at which point he 'fled the scene on foot, onto the beach', and proceeded into the ocean, police documents show.

After swimming more than a mile away from shore, however, authorities said the arrest turned into a 'rescue operation' and launched a drone to track the escapee.

As the unmanned aerial vehicle flew over Kingsbury, footage shows a shark some 25 feet away trailing the police dodger. It remains unclear if Kingsbury was aware of the animal.
Authorities were finally able to nab Kingsbury around 7.45pm at the Wicker Avenue beach access in North Topsail Beach, nearly three hours after the ordeal had begun.

Kingsbury was placed under arrest and is being held at Pender County Jail.

Frank Edoho dropped as Who wants to be A Millionaire host

Posted: 02 Sep 2017 03:46 AM PDT

It was announced that popular family game show, Who Wants To Be A Million, would be back on air with a new sponsor, Airopay. Many thought Frank Edoho will remain as anchor.

But according to Saturday Beats, after 13 years of hosting the show, the popular broadcaster would be dropped and replaced by someone yet to be unveiled.

An organiser of the show told Saturday Beats that they did not have any problem with Edoho, so it was an amicable agreement.

"The only difference about the show is that the star prize money has reduced from N10m to N5m. Also, it is very likely that we are not going to use Frank Edoho as our anchor. We are not dropping him because we had any issue with him. I think he feels it is time to go and find other endeavours.

"For now, our viewers would only be able to play on the MTN platform till we are able to sort out ways whereby they can play from any network provider and that would be resolved very soon. We are under no obligation to play on the MTN platform alone. Airopay is thrilled to partner with Ultima Limited, whose passion and dedication to quality and world class productions are well known, by sponsoring the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire Nigeria game show. Airopay is honoured by this partnership. Airopay and Ultima are convinced that the synergy between Airopay and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire game show will be mutually beneficial."

She took to IG to talk about relying on God and not man as only him is capable of seeing us through any situation.

In her words:

Dating for years is not a guarantee to marriage... Falling sick does not mean you are going to die... Getting rich is not the definition of prosperity... Building a nice house is not enjoying luxury... Sleeping on an expensive bed doesn't bring you sound sleep... Driving a new car is not a guarantee that you will reach where you are going... Wearing best clothes doesn't mean they are fitting you.... Owing a family doctor doesn't guarantee permanent good health... Being highly educated is not a sign of wisdom... Marrying a rich guy doesn't guarantee Happy marriage... Winning an argument does not mean that you are correct... Whatsoever is done without the merit of Heaven is fake and temporal... He who builds without God is building for nothing,, n He who watches over a city without God watches in vain... Not everything is possible with men But everything is possible with God... Father Of 12 Murdered By Suspected Herdsmen In Edo | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 02 Sep 2017 02:36 AM PDT

A farmer identified as Efosa Omoregie in Oben community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State has reportedly been shot dead by suspected herdsmen in the state.
The deceased was said to have been shot after he and some youths in the area attempted to prevent some cows sighted on their farms from eating their crops when the suspected herdsmen allegedly opened fire on them on Thursday morning.

Efosa, who is survived by two wives and 12 children, however, fell and was allegedly shot in the chest by one of the herdsmen.

President of the Obozogbe-Nugu, Ikobi and Iguelaba Youth Forum, Mr. Kelly Ogbeide, confirmed the incident to Southern City News on Friday evening.
He said:
"Some of the youths saw Fulani herdsmen around the farm. In their usual way, the cows were eating their crops. So, they (youths) tried to stop the cows from destroying their crops. While they were doing that, the Fulani herdsmen started shooting.
"The man (deceased) started running away and while he was running, he fell. When he fell, a Fulani herdsman shot him. As at yesterday, only one person was killed."
He, however, lamented that no arrests had been made since the incident was reported.
"The commissioner of police is aware. We reported the matter to the commissioner of police. So, he sent some men (police personnel) to the area.
"We have said that we will do a formal petition to the CP, AIG and the governor because the next time we witness this incident again, we will not take it lightly with the Fulani herdsmen," Ogbeide added.

A Prayer To Transform Your Mind and Your Life

Posted: 02 Sep 2017 02:11 AM PDT

"Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think." - Romans 12:2a (NLT)

If we allow our minds to be shaped by negative thoughts, we are headed toward a life lacking peace, joy and hope. But, when we humbly admit our need for change and invite Christ to renew our minds - one thought at a time - we are blessed with the ability to enjoy life, despite its challenges.

Although it might seem difficult at first, it is possible to change the way we think if we commit to these three easy steps...

1. Recognize negative thoughts.
Each time a negative thought enters your mind, make note of how you're feeling. Ask yourself things like: Does this thought help me in any way? Does it make me happy, or does it steal my peace? Is this a problem God can't handle, or am I assuming it's too big for Him? (Trick question: Nothing is too big for God!) Is it even true according to God's Word? Asking God to make us aware of our negative thoughts is the first step to learning to control them.

2. Reject negative thoughts.
Once you learn to be aware of your negative thoughts, you can begin to combat them and fight back. Each time you notice a negative thought, aim to pause and reject it. Remind yourself not to focus on the negativity, and instead, try to focus on something positive. If you've decided it's not really true, don't allow yourself to entertain it anymore. If that negative thought is stealing your peace, refuse to give it power over your joy, peace or happiness, much less your life. Take control of what you're thinking, rather than letting your thoughts run rampant. Then, turn that negative thought around.

3. Replace negative thoughts.
If something bad happens to us, we don't have to believe we have a bad life. When we experience something positive in the morning but have to deal with something negative in the afternoon, we have the choice to decide whether we've had a good or bad day overall. If someone hurts our feelings, we can forgive and refuse to let it fester in our thoughts and steal our confidence. If someone insults us, we can focus on our positive attributes and remember what God's Word says about us is most important.

Each time we notice our minds are wandering to a place where discouragement, sadness, fear, anger or negativity reside, we have the authority and the power to choose to reject those negative thoughts and shift them to be more positive.
PRAY: Dear Lord, how I long to break free from negative thinking and embrace peace and joy and optimism. I invite You to begin transforming my thought patterns and help me recognize, reject and replace thoughts that are not pleasing to You.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

How Friend Impregnated His Best Friend's Wife, Ending Their Marriage | Mr Olumide's Blog

Posted: 02 Sep 2017 02:01 AM PDT

The love between Danladi Funtuwa, 38, an auto mechanic from Nasarawa and wife Salamatu Maka, came to an end in March 2014 following fertility challenges. Mr. Francis Kulungu, 35, an indigene of Awe Local Government Area friend to the husband brought havoc into the family's life when he started dating Funtuwa's wife.

Speaking to Saturday Sun, Funtuwa, recounted how his marriage ended.

"Owing to the nature of my work as a mechanic, I close very late, but each time I got home after that I would meet him sitting outside and waiting for me or I would be told he had just left," Funtuwa told our correspondent. "Some of my neighbours who suspected something fishy between them complained to me about the man's closeness to my wife and wondered aloud what the kind of friend he is, saying he was always visiting and chatting with my wife in her shop."

Funtuwa started to monitor his friend and wife for four months with no proof.

Foolproof trap
On May 14, 2017, he lied to his wife that he was going to Kaduna to buy a Peugeot 406 engine for one of his customers' car and that the trip would keep him away for three days.

But rather than travel as he had made her believe, he stayed in a neighbour's house hoping to monitor his wife's movements from there. The following day, he returned to the house at about 12:30pm in the middle of the night only to discover to his dismay that his wife was nowhere to be found. Further move to know her whereabouts was thwarted by his discovery that her phone was permanently switched off for the two days duration.

Unknown to him, his wife and his friend, Kulungu, had left Lafia, the same day, for a visit to his (Kulungu's) younger brother, schooling at the College of Education, Akwanga, and spent two days there. At the end, the wife returned only to meet an enraged husband waiting for her at home.
"That was the beginning of the problem," Funtuwa icily observed. "I demanded to know where she went. She was too tongue-tied to talk. From that time till now, we've not had sex because she was unwilling to tell me where she went. I reported the matter to her parents and they supported me to insist on knowing where she went."

For a long time, she continued to remain taciturn. On Sunday, July 30, 2017 matters took a turn for the worse as the enraged husband changed tactics, drew a cutlass and threatened to kill her right in their bedroom if she refused to open up. "At 11pm, when I could no longer hold my anger, I drew a cutlass I bought last year to protect myself in case of an attack and asked her to say her last prayers as I was going to kill her. She started pleading for her life. But all her pleas fell on deaf ears as I told her firmly that I would only spare her life if and only if she told me the truth and nothing but the truth about her two days trip without my knowledge and about her relationship with my friend (Kulungu)."
Midnight confession
Having been so cornered with no way of escape, Salamatu opened up and began to sing. She told him all she knew about the affair that she said started with Kulungu in April. She confessed that she was actually the one who seduced him into the secret love affair and she did that to know whether her inability to conceive for the past three years they'd been married is hers or husband's.
On the mystery surrounding the two days trip away from her matrimonial home, she revealed that Kulungu took her to his younger brother's apartment in Akwanga where they had fun for two days. Crying profusely, she earnestly pleaded for forgiveness, adding that her desire to have a child led her into trying another man to know where the problem is and that's why she couldn't use condom. In fact, at the end of the confession, she confirmed to him that she was actually three months pregnant courtesy of Kulungu.
"A year after our marriage, we went to Dalhatu Specialist Hospital, Lafia, to carry out some tests to know why I have not conceived. The tests showed that my husband has low and watery sperm count and as a result might not be able to impregnate a woman except something was done about it.
"The hospital treated and certified him fit after six months. Yet, there was no pregnancy. We went back to the hospital and the result certified both of us fit and fertile, yet nothing happened. In March 2017, our marriage was exactly three years old without a child. All my mates in marriage have two children each. I was tired of answering questions from colleagues and friends
"Kulungu, my husband's friend, is a regular caller at the house and we became friends. When I narrated this problem to him, he showed much concern about it and suggested fertility test for both of us. We did it last year, around May, at the specialist hospital and the result showed that both of us are okay. Since we are very close, I decided to ask him for help by soliciting for sex with him, to ascertain where the problem is since they said my husband and I are okay. At first, he entertained fears but I assured him that it was going to be something confidential and nobody would know about it. After much pressure, he accepted.
"Our first meeting was on April 8, 2017 at Dunami Hotels, Lafia. I footed the hotel bill. We had a marathon session that lasted the better part of the night. I didn't use any protection because I was ovulating. In the morning before we departed, we had a quickie. It was a parting gift for me and he kissed me goodbye. That month's end, I missed my period. After that month, I conducted a pregnancy test and it was confirmed positive. I broke the news to Kulungu, he was delighted about it, though he wanted me to abort it. I refused and vowed that I will keep the child."
Fight back
"I told her parents about this development and they simply asked me to send her packing to go meet the said Kulungu, and that she should never come to them for anything," he said. "They sympathised with me. I have already asked her to leave my house within 30 days, though the chief has asked me to seek divorce through a court but that is a long process. Moreover, I don't have money to hire a lawyer."
He is hopeful of remarring someday but not any moment soon immediately as he does not keep girlfriends outside marriage. He, however, promised to commence the search for another wife after Salamatu might have left his house within the 30 days ultimatum.
No shaking
The wife, hardly moved by all the hoopla, said she is prepared for anything. She told our correspondent that her husband has a serious problem with low sperm count and may likely run into the same problem if he gets married without having the problem permanently solved. "Staying with him will amount to a waste of time," she said. "I'm ready to leave his house within the specified time. I have a handwork (tailoring) with which I can take care of the baby."
On the run
And where is Kulungu the father of the baby, in all of this, you finally found the voice to ask Salamatu. "He is not ready for the child, he has run away," she sighed. "The last time I spoke with him, he told me he was in Lagos looking for a job and that he will not return to Lafia any time soon. But for me, I will keep the child and train him/her to any level. I have moved on with my life. If the child is a baby boy, I may not remarry but if it is a baby girl, I will definitely remarry someday."

Man With 2 Wives & 12 Children Shot Dead By Herdsmen

Posted: 02 Sep 2017 01:46 AM PDT

A man identified as Mr. Efosa was allegedly gunned down by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Edo state. According to Ifeanyi Baron, the man, a father of 12 children and with two wives was killed after confronting the herdsmen for invading his farm with their cattle and causing damages.

Read the full report as shared by Ifeanyi Baron below:

Fulani herdsmen invaded Oben Community Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State and killed Mr. Efosa while he tried to confront the herdsmen over the damages caused by their herds of cattle.Until the gruesome murder of Mr. Efosa, was a farmer, survived by two wives and twelve Children.

This unholy and inhuman attack by the Fulani Herdsmen has become a reoccurring incident in the region. Few months ago, they also committed more severe pains. Their herds of cattle will destroy the farmer's crops and when the farmers confronts them, they will compare them to death with their AK47 and other dangerous weapons.

The painful part of this situation is that these arm bearing Fulani herdsmen are not being attacked or apprehended by any of our Nigerian Security officers, they are even empowered and paid.

My people of South South wake up and defend yourselves.

We need to form security outfits and arm them well so they can chase these barbaric Fulani herdsmen terrorist because the northern led government will never stop them from killing our people, they are using them to invade our land. Wake up!!!!!

5 Useful Tips For Doing Business With Family and Friends

Posted: 02 Sep 2017 12:46 AM PDT

Working with family and friends might generally not be an easy, but there are ways to make it work. However, you have to be determined and ready to put in the required effort to make it work.

Jumia Travel shares 5 useful tips for working with family and friends.

Ask Yourself This Question
Before bringing a family or friend on board, you need to first ask yourself, "If your friend/family wasn't your friend/family, would you think he/she was the best candidate for the job?". If you must bring your friend or family aboard your business, you need to be totally sure it is worth it because it's not going to be easy, so it has to at least be worth it.

Be Distinctive
Be distinctive about work and family, keep business discussions out of family and personal gatherings. If you must talk about work, let it be to just joke around and share funny work stories, it shouldn't be anything too sensitive or critical.

Don't Take Contracts Lightly
Contracts are particularly crucial when working with family and friends, because where sentiments might weaken your stand, a contract will help to give strength to it. If there is a 'push-back' while working with family or friends, a legally binding contract can easily help to bring everyone back on the same page. It's best to have a contract to guide all critical and sensitive parts of the business (like the salary aspect etc.), so everything is well spelt out for everyone to understand without misinterpretation or being sentimental about it.

Properly and Clearly Define Everyone's Roles
This is very important when working with family and friends. It is important that everyone knows their place in the business. Too often, people jump into a business without clearly defining the roles and extent of authority of each employee, especially with family businesses. Clearly and properly defining everyone's roles in the business helps to keep employees from stepping on each other's toes, prevents avoidable problems and keeps everyone focused on what they need to do.

Try Reworking Your Office Space
This can be especially helpful if you're working with a spouse. Try to mix things up within the workplace and find ways to work remotely, so you're not all in each other's faces all the time. This can help to reduce some of the friction that might occasionally arise from working with family and friends.

Fathers, 8 things nobody tells you about becoming a dad

Posted: 02 Sep 2017 12:46 AM PDT

Before I became a dad, I thought I would be a pretty good dad. After all I grew up in a nice, Christian home, I read a few parenting books, and heard quite a few messages on biblical parenting. So I was set. The kids I would raise would be fortunate to have me as their father.

Then, a funny thing happened.
I actually became a dad for the first time. First came Grace, then Daniel Jr., then Emma, and finally Lily. I'm now a father of four and I know much less about parenting than I did before I became a parent. I've realized that there are certain things about fatherhood you can only learn until you actually become a dad. Here are eight:

1) You are much less patient than you think you are.
Oh, you think you're a loving, patient, sweet peach of man. You'll be the guy playing catch for hours and carefully instructing your son how to ride his bike. You'll never get short with your kids and you'll always know the perfect balance between discipline and love. Right. Keep dreaming, my friend. There's nothing like a live child in your midst to bring out your selfishness, anger, and impatience.

2) Many times you'll have no clue what to do.
But you still have to pretend you are in control. Like when your three-year old melts down the grocery store. The books say to do one thing, but there is a certain paralysis that takes place when it's your little child kicking, screaming, and not getting along with the shopping program. Over time, you'll figure out your child and the best method, but there will be a lot of trial and error along the way. Mostly error.

3) You'll probably not get six continuous hours of good sleep ever again.
And if you do, you'll never admit it because it will make your wife mad for the broken-up sleep she got when she got up and took care of the teething child. Dads perfect the art of pretending like they are stone-cold sleepers who can't be easily woke. But really you're just trying to do it long enough so she'll get up and take care of the situation.

4) There are singular moments of joy so indescribable they can only be experienced.
There are moments of pride and joy that make every single hard parenting experience seem easy. There are times of closeness and love that will make your heart burst with rapture. Sometimes I just sit back and look at my four children and cannot believe God allowed me to be their dad. If you're a dad, you know what I mean.

5) Your presence is more important than you know.
You may not think you're a good dad. You may not think you're all that useful around the house. But your kids need your presence more than you know. God wove fatherhood into the fabric of humanity. Your consistency and faithfulness to your wife and to your children will speak volumes to your children about the consistency and faithfulness of their Heavenly Father.

6) You need to repeat the same words over and over to your children.
It's not enough to be a model Christian. It's not enough to provide and be present. Your kids must hear over and over again how much you love and accept them. I try every single day to tell each one of my children that I love them. There have been times I've flippantly said something to my oldest daughter and it crushed her feelings. I've had to apologize and seek forgiveness. My words matter to her.

7) You will watch less of your favorite games, play less video games, and will go out with your guy friends hardly at all.
But this is good. You are called to serve your family sacrificially. This often means putting your selfish desires last. This means not whining. This means being strong when you want to be tired. This means being the brave one when everyone is scared. But if you see your kids as your God-given mission, you will gladly give up these things for something better. Your sacrifice and your presence is not an option.

8) You will embrace your cluelessness as a gift from God.
The further you go into your fatherhood, the more you realize you need help being a good dad. You really don't have what it takes. This is where you lean in, heavily, on your Heavenly Father. The sooner we realize, as dads, that we don't have what it takes to succeed, the sooner we'll seek His help, both through His Word, His Spirit, and from earthly fathers who can lend wisdom. I've learned much from a program our church did called Men's Fraternity. I've learned much from other dads in my church. I've learned a lot from older dads who have gone before.
